Narcissistic abuse isn't a thing, narcissists simply can abuse. The type of abuse we usually talk about when we say "narcissistic abuse" is just psychological, verbal, and emotional abuse.

Someone can have narcissistic traits without having Narcissistic Personality Disorder. The word narcissist isn't just a diagnosis but also a descriptor.

We shouldn't demonize people who are diagnosed narcissists as a whole but when the diagnosis is named after a negative descriptor it becomes very hard in general to separate them unless properly educated.

We need more classes when it comes to this sort of stuff. I feel like there probably is ngl.

Saw a selected few be like "oh but narcissistic does means self-absorbed, and when i use it, i refer to the word by itself. No ties to NPD. That's why i use the tem 'narcissistic abuse' no problem" bitch...it doesn't MATTER how you use it. Narcissistic personality disorder has narcissistic in the name. The ignorant ones will associate a word...with the SAME WORD.

The logic is good, but doing the ableist thing while operating under different logic ain't actually fighting shit. In the eyes of whoever sees you saying "narcissistic abuse" as a first impression, you're just doing the ableist thing.

In a similar vein "I know what asocial is and that antisocial means antisocial personality disorder. But everyone thinks they're the same so i'll keep saying antisocial" USE YOUR BRAIN
