“you’re cute. you know that?” minho asked, looking up from the chart to stare at you, his head turned to the side slightly.
you laughed and shook your head, a small smile appearing on your face as you looked up from the computer you had been typing on.
“and you’re a flirt.” you responded, trying to act snarky, but you couldn’t hide the fact that your cheeks were heating up. just a little bit.
minho smiled as he looked back at the chart, his hand running through his hair as he let out a long sigh. his eyes wandered away from the chart to look at you, eyeing your scrubs for a minute before looking back down to the paper.
“hey! nishimura! go book an OR. get ready for a hip replacement. you’re gonna scrub in.” he said, his voice more sharp then it had been before, “get dr. choi for anesthesia. i don’t like the new guy chan hired.”
the resident nodded and ran off, going out of sight.
your eyes looked up from the computer to stare at the surgeon, a small smirk on your face as you stood up, grabbing another patients charts on your way.
“awh, where’re you going?” he asked, a fake pout showing up on his lips.
“to go insert an IV. i’ll see you tonight, doctor lee.” you responded, keeping a straight face as you turned around and walked away, giggling slightly.
minho smiled slightly, as he himself walked the opposite way, going to go get ready for surgery. perfect. but god… what was he gonna wear?

the scans had finally come in. his brain had put the pieces together. he had finished the puzzle. kim seungmin always finished the puzzle. no matter if it was a 100 piece puzzle, or a 10,000 piece puzzle. he got through it.
except. this puzzle was kind of special.

he had been working on your case for two months now. a complicated tumour that sat right against the temporal lobe. it was big too. bigger then a normal tumour. one wrong move and you’re memory would be gone. he couldn’t do that. everything had to be perfect. it had to be perfect for you.
seungming toom a deep breath as he looked at the resident who was looking at the scans beside him.
“doctor choi. how would you play through with this?”
jiung looked up, looking at seungming and then back to the scans, swallowing before going into a tangent about a possible laser treatment or taking it out piece by piece. seungmin takes in a deep breath and then nods his head.
“you think the same way i do. go take a break. i’ll inform the patient.” seungmin looked over at the boy, who nodded, bowing at him as he quickly exited the room and walked the opposite way that seungming was walking.
now he had to tell you.
his least favourite part.
“so….you’re telling me that this surgery might effect my memory?”
“yes. as well as emotions, language and senses.”
“but… if the surgery goes well… i’d have no tumour.. right?”
seungmin nodded as he took a deep breath, looking down at his shoes, and then back to the girl.
“yes. your tumour will be all gone.” he reassured, nodding his head as his fingers fiddled with the hem of his coat.
you looked up at him, and then down to your hands, which were curled in your lap. you were done with this. done with the hospital, the treatments, the everything.
“i’ll do it.”
“i can schedule it for tomorrow, if you wish.“
“as soon as possible.”
“of course, jagi.”
the nickname slipped out before he could stop himself. his eyes widened as he looked up at you, and then down. he felt his cheeks heating up, but he don’t want to admit that they were. his eyes didn’t make contact with you as he took a deep breath.
“i’m sorry. that was… unprofessional of me.” seungmin said, biting his bottom lip as he looked away, and then back towards you for a minite.
as he made eye contact with you, he watched as your face turned from a more serious look, to a smile spreading across your lips. a laugh escaped you, which made him stifle a giggle.
“i won’t tell anyone, jagi.” you teased, sticking your tongue out, which made him shake his head.
“you’re a tricky puzzle.” he muttered, a small smirk on his lips.

too many pages. too much people talking. and way too many worried mothers. luckily felix had those. or they hoped. the two were just focused on actually fixing the people. jisung was exhausted, and he knew that you were too.
“i need a break.” jisung muttered, shaking his head as he grabbed your arm, dragging you towards the on-call room. “i have a organ transplant in the morning.”
you laughed softly as you opened the door, looking between the bed and letting out a groan at seeing changbin in the top bunk and minho in the bed that was beside it, leaving ome the bottom bunk.
jisung looked over at you, letting out a small sigh as he immediately flopped down on the bed, moving his body so that it can rest on the pillow. his eyes shut almost immediately until he realized something was missing. you.
quickly, he opened up his arms, waiting for you to come in and fall into them.
you stopped for a moment, looking at his arms, and then around the small room for a moment. minho and changbin had taken up the other beds, so there was no where else for you to go. the hesitation made jisung open his eyes, his lips turning into a soft pout.
“i don’t bite. unless you want me to.” he laughed softly as he kicked off his shoes, his arms still waiting for you to join him.
eventually, the exhaustion took over your body and you leaned into his arms, kicking off your own shoes as you snuggled into his chest, letting out a big breath.
“there you go…” he muttered into your hair, pressing a soft kiss, which caught you a little off guard. no words escaped as you felt his breath slow and his body relax.
“jisung…“ you groaned, shaking your head and laughing softly as you drifted into your own sleep.
