CRYSTAL COUNTRYSIDE is a 16+ art and roleplay group hosted on Discord. While the cats believe in the same ancestors as the books (StarClan), CC features original clans called LeafClan and SoaringClan as well as additional lore/changes to create a more unique universe. Knowledge of the books is not needed in order to enjoy the group!
Our setting is the Glade, a beautiful landscape featuring lush forests, windy moors and a huge peak named Crystal Mountain. The clans' ancestors (as well as some of the strays littered about) originally come from the city a long distance away, having had fled from an extermination effort by the local humans (known as Catchers). In the glade, the two clans border one another and must fight over land and resources for the benefit of their own well-being and their clanmates'.
WHO WILL YOU JOIN?
🌿 LeafClan is a forest-dwelling clan that focuses far more on independence and reverence for the living and their surroundings.
✧ Proud of their strong-will and fortitude, LeafClan never back down from what looks like a difficult path ahead. Frustrated with Stonestar's apparent inexperience, Fogstar turns her back on the other clan. What her own clanmates think about this is mixed, with some grumblings about her heartlessness.
🦅 SoaringClan is a mountain-dwelling clan that heavily leans into their faith and trust in StarClan.
✧ A clan known for their devotion to their ancestors that is currently struggling with an onslaught of negative events. Formerly led by a tyrant leader, SoaringClan is struggling to gather up the pieces of their clan under the guidance of an overwhelmed Stonestar.
🐾 Strays are cats that were either exiled from their respective clans, those who decided not to join, or strangers who got to the party a bit late.
✧ Living varying lifestyles, Strays are oftentimes left to a peaceful lifestyle while remaining cautious of their clan-cat counterparts. However, events are beginning to unfold that seem to threaten this peace. And, hey… Some of the cats out here look awfully familiar, don't they?

tbh i think the funniest phenomena that's been happening in the last couple years is "youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will"
this guy started out poking fun at australian politicians and ended up investigating the firebombing of his own home, during which he uncovered connections between the same politician he was making fun of + major organized crime
JasperDasper started out just curious why everything had suddenly become about trans people and questioning some of the sources used in a book. He came out of it, 4 years later, with a 5 hour long video that connects all transphobia to less than 60 people. (I'm not joking. literally every single transphobic rhetoric and bill passed is because of these 50 or so people.)
If you wanna watch it I cannot recommend it enough; I just warn that it covers a LOT.
