`(*∩_∩*)′ Hello! Hello! Magpie here! I'm the current head of the Mid-Grand Library. I know, I know I'm a bit young to have this position but I have a feeling that's exactly why I got picked. I handle the formatting of all questions, comments, complaints and concerns in Motown well technically it's the entire Center Cities but I'm stationed here !
Now what can I assist you with?
Oh you wish to learn about the Dimming, honestly it could've been named better but oh well, you know I knew people who were major players during that time, but this isn't about me its about you!

"You are one of the 'lucky ones' as many living in the Shaded Lands would say. To live a life of relative comfort while not worrying if a Seeker attack, larger town or the elements will be the thing that wipes your whole settlement out.
You know the old saying 'Cities are for staying, Towns are for starting, and good luck in the Wastes.'
It worked out great, until the first city went dim an event that no one could've predicted and no one survived. See the lights going out in certain districts or just a block was normal. It was a way to test the system and expand the cities in whichever direction was beneficial for long term stability. What happened in the Lou was not only a warning but possible a sign of what was to come. An entire city dark, and when darkened it left it open to attacks from everything the light scorned.
News of this monumental loss of not only resources but life reached you city by a turning caravanner, half delirious, people thought nothing of it until no one heard anything from anyone who ventured a little too close to the former Bridge City. Being the upstanding and honorable citizen you are, you volunteered (not like you could say no or anything) and joined a ragtag group of fronters with your best friend and of course everything went wrong. The block you all took refuge in suddenly lost light and the only survivors ended up being you, your friend, and a toddler who will be in therapy for the rest of their life.
After returning you have been tasked with finding the source of the Dimming and making sure it not only is a one off situation but your city isn't next to go dark.
Will you be humanity's saving light or chose to embrace the dark with no regard for you fellow man?
The choice is yours, of course, just remember for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction."

Nytelites is a sci-fi/post-apocalyptic story about found family, loss of innocence and changing things thought to be beyond a singular person. Romance, befriend, or even kill the 7 available romance options. Some, you may never met depending on your choices. All ROs are romanceable by Allosexual and Asexual MCs, though some will only get involved with MCs of certain backgrounds.
MC is soft locked as both in their mid- to late 20s, good family relationship (in the beginning, things can of course change) and a Sleeper (with a chance to no longer be one by the end of the story). Everything else is customable.
Nytelites is an 18+ story with content not suitable for minors and potentially triggering topics such as:
Neglect
Sexual Harassment/ Assault (option to skip conversations around them)
Sexual Interactions (consensual/ optional)
Conversations around Sex Work
Blood
Cannibals/ Vampires
Drug Usage
Trafficking
Death (animals/people- skip-able)
Racism (not the type we used to)
And more as the story develops
There will eventually be a system implemented to completely skip certain triggers later in development

I am new to coding and its the most learning curve ever.
Nytelites takes inspiration from The Walking Dead, Omega Man, Z Nation, V Wars, The Last of Us, Mad Max, 12 Monkeys and more
The ship hadn't exactly been accomodating, not when four men has to hide inside small wooden boxes stored inside a compact, dark cargo space.
Bram Bakker wasn't always a soldier.
In fact, there was a time when the warmth of his mother's arms were all that he had known.
"God give me strength, if only for one more day..."
He lost count of how many times he had repeated his prayers, a quiet plea to a God he was loyal to.
The smell of spices clings to his blouse like perfume to the sickly. He had been stuck here for days, for a cause so important to his people. He cannot afford to fail.
Come midnight, an ally of his will come and guide him and his men to the colony.
Come morning, it will all be over.
His mind slowly drifts off....
Towards a darker time, when all he had was lost, including his faith in God. He had a habit of reminding himself of what little life he has before he joined the Royal Army...
If you're interested in reading more, this story is accessible in my patreon for the Maharaja tier or buy it for $3 🌸
I've also posted a BTS of making the ROs, which i will go even more in depth with sometime this week. I'll be working on short interactive PoVs while I'm branching the central hub route. Cut content and additional lore & infos are also available there 🫶
Reblogging bcs I'm currently sick and had nothing else to rlly say aside from there's going to be a new sneak peek for Demianos/Dolfina's first meeting w mc soon (extended on patreon) and weekly tarot reading is also planned for tmrw. Arjuna's POV is also coming soon, next would be either Layla or Sura's.
Aside from that, I'd say I'm like 25% into the climax of ch1 p1, I'm currently a bit stuck at finding the right words and sentences to add flavour to MC's personality as well as corruption stats (yea... those exists...) but yk, it'll come up to me eventually.
I think I'm going to be focusing more on resting and getting healthy again tho. Anyways, hope u guys have a rlly nice week ahead 💞🫶
Little bit of advice: I would recommend changing the color scheme of your IF to something a bit easier on the eyes, since the contrast is fairly low atm. You can check contrast natively on certain browsers (firefox for sure).
I get what you are saying, I was having difficult reading over it with higher contrast. For me its great, but I have vision problems already and most IFs are way too bright with too much contrast for me. I can see if I can add another mode/fix for higher contrast but the theme isn't why the contrast is low.
Thursday begins with a crying baby, a missing school shoe and coffee you do not have time to finish. Your partner leaves for work with the nine-month-old, the older children head to school, and you join the morning rush through Manhattan. It should have been an ordinary day.
By lunchtime, the dead are getting back up.
Your family is scattered across New York when the outbreak begins. Your partner and baby are trapped near Midtown, your thirteen-year-old is in the East Village, the younger children are stranded on the Lower East Side and every route between them is filling with frightened people and the newly infected. Then the authorities close every bridge and tunnel leaving Manhattan.
Finding your family is only the beginning. Six people need food, clean water, medicine, somewhere safe to sleep and enough nappies and formula to keep a baby alive. The infected turn within minutes, push their bodies far beyond normal human limits and refuse to remain as predictable as everybody first assumes.
You have seven days to get your partner and four children out of New York City. Every person you stop to help costs time, everything you carry adds weight and every escape route risks placing the people you love in a different kind of danger.
Can you keep all six members of your family alive long enough to leave Manhattan, or will the city take somebody before the seventh day arrives?
Key Features:
Play as a man, woman or nonbinary parent, choose your age from twenty-eight to sixty and customise your name, appearance and parental title.
Create your partner and four children, including their names, genders, nicknames and appearances. Choose every detail yourself or allow the children to inherit a believable mixture of both parents' features.
Choose one of five professions: emergency medicine resident, National Guard soldier, firefighter-paramedic, subway maintenance engineer or public-school teacher. Your training, workplace and equipment open different choices and escape routes.
Manage a real inventory containing food, water, medicine, weapons, tools, baby supplies and profession-specific equipment.
Watch the clock. Travelling, searching, helping strangers and making mistakes all consume time while Manhattan becomes more dangerous around you.
Raise survival skills such as Combat, Medicine, Athletics, Ingenuity, Influence and Nerve, while your behaviour shapes Empathy, Caution and Cooperation.
Protect your relationship with your partner and the trust holding your family together. The children are thirteen, eight, five and nine months old; each one understands and reacts to the outbreak differently.
Discover the rules of the infection through experience. What you learn about turning, strength, senses, decomposition and intelligence may decide who survives later.
Choose who you help, who you leave behind and how far you are willing to go when protecting your family conflicts with protecting everybody else.
Plan your own way out of Manhattan. A nearby bridge, the river, an organised professional convoy or temporary shelter may save the family, or trap them.
I SOMEHOW FORGOT TO ADD THE LIST OF CURRENT MINOR ROs 😭😭😭😭😭😭
To clarify, minor ROs are a bit different than flings as they each have their own separate endings as well as long term impact on the story, they're basically full blown romances but since you'll be spending time away from them, they won't have as much content as the major ROs, that won't mean they WON'T be having any content while they're away tho, I still want them to feel like real romances (I am a greedy hoe at heart 🫶)
I'll be updating the list on the intro post as I introduce the ROs, but Layla, Arjuna, and Sura are currently the only minor ROs for now.
With Layla and Arjuna, you only get to choose one of them since they have a strong sibling like bond, I don't think they'd be cool w taking the other's crush, each offers different perspectives on their routes. But you can still develop crushes on every one of them, I'll be writing their reactions somewhere down the line tho.
Dw, jealousy is planned 👀
And if you see the stats not moving, don't panic, it's just bcs I am currently tweaking the dialogue and narration to better fit the player's stats while I'm working on the central hub route (which is arguably bigger than the other two and focuses more on mc's personality stats as well as the consequences of your past actions.)
Hi! I'm alive, I was just dealing with a lot. Between chronic illnesses, school and work I had no time to write anything. I have things coded but actively rewriting the prologue. I set a 10k word count goal for release, made it to 15k, reread what I wrote and decided I need to just start over again. Nytelites isn't abandoned, or at least its not anymore. I love the story too much to let it go to waste. So I wont give a date when I'll drop it because I don't want people to expect it and be upset when I don't make it. I'll surprise drop it but know there is actual writimg done.
I am changing the aesthetic of the page so if you see me reposting old stuff in a new way... Yeah you did.
I have been debating if I should switch to choicescript instead or stick to twine. If any author's follow me can you tell me which one is easier 😭 having to relearn twine has been a worse learning curve than the first time I tried but that's where everything is currently written.
Also if there are things y'all want to see in the story (customization, plot points etc etc let me know!)
