While adding stuff to the catchable critters I encountered a problem in my code that needed to be fixed, so I spent the last two weeks refactoring some systems I hadn't touched in a while.
Here's a video of me making sure things still work 👀

The Apprentice can now catch critters!!
I still have to tweak the settings a bit but I like how it is turning out. Also, I finally added a script so that objects between the camera and the player fade.
I added some more expressions to the Apprentice and can now use them while in dialogue.
Also, meet the Master Potionist! 🧙♂️🍵
(The dialogue text is just for testing and I know, I know I should make a new scene already 😅)
I started designing critters that the player can catch (tackle??) to get items or the critter itself.
Meet little crybaby maybe-called Mandroot. The name is a placeholder for now.
Now the facial expressions change with the character's animation 😎
This month I'll pick up where I left off my project The Potionist Apprentice!
I did some changes to the character controller so it now uses a finite state machine and resolved some issues I had when jumping/diving :D
Hi, Veronica here! This is the first postmortem I've written and it's somewhat long as I dive into how it all started, what I learned and what I would change. If you're interested, keep on reading :)...
Some days have passed since I released my game The Bookworm Way of Life, so I wrote its postmortem. Hopefully, I did it how it is supposed to be. If you're interested in knowing the process I followed to develop this game, check it out!
I just released The Bookworm Way of Life!
It is a time-management typing game where you play as a bookworm. Also, it is the first game I've done and released outside of a jam :D
You can play it here.
Next week, I'll finally be releasing my time-management typing/bookworm simulator game.
I based the books in the game on ones I've read. Some titles are easier to recognize than others.
Can you guess which books are these?
To read books, you have to type words related to it.
Of all the things, choosing the words for each book was the most time-consuming.
Give your cat some belly rubs and play with them! 😺
I added a lot of stuff to the game, but a cat was missing, so now you can adopt one! It will make things a bit harder for the player, but they're cute.

The best type of mail is cat mail 🐱
Made some changes to the work mechanics and UI and added some mini tutorials throughout the game.
I have already entered 50 books of the total 100+ so it seems I can reach my goal of finishing this game in February.
Here's a little peek of what I did this week.
Now the game has a book release system, a book deals system and a mail inbox to get notified about stuff :D
I started adding books to read and somehow 50 turned into 100+ books o.o
Finally added food so that players can restore their energy without going to sleep and now they can read more books in a day!
I just need to add (at least 50) books and maybe a book-release system and/or deals.
It's been a while, but I've been slowly making some progress. I want to finish a few of my little projects before starting new ones and continuing with The Potionist Apprentice.
For now, here's some of the art I did for my bookworm simulator game.
