¿Toei tenía la intención de hacer una referencia al icónico beso al revés de Spider-Man?
Ni idea, pero yo sí 😝 aparte necesita un fondo de pantalla🥺

"I love you too, Nami-san"
Or... Sanji's speech and japanese love confession...
So I was rewatching this scene and I noticed Sanji used the word "suki" and as you know, I'm a very curious person, so I looked for the word and asked un which context it is used as well how japanese people confess their love as it is very different from this side of the world.
This said, let's get into the answers I got, shall we? 🌚
First of all, in Japanese, “love” is “ai” [愛], from which the word “aijou” [愛情], which means “affection,” comes from. Another word for “love” is “koi” [恋], which is more about romantic or passionate love. The two kanji for “koi” and “ai” put together are read “ren-ai” [恋愛], which is also another word for love, often used to say if you are in a romantic relationship.
In Japanese, there are many ways to say, “I love you.” The translation you will find most often is “aishiteru” [愛してる]. However, you need to know that in Japanese culture, this word conveys deep, serious feelings. It is a beautiful word that tends to be more used in written form than in spoken language. In general, Japanese people hardly say it.
SUKI:
Derived from “suki” is the expression “daisuki” [大好き], with the kanji for “big” in front of “suki.” Used regarding a person, it means you really like them a lot, which makes it like “suki” in a way, but also a bit more straightforward. This one can be used with good friends as it does not only have a romantic relationship connotation.HOWEVER it changes the meaning when told to the opposite sex, that's why you should be cautious with this 🌚
“Suki” is a lighter, easier way to say, “I love you.” (“Aishiteru” from the start would sound over the top. “Tsukiattekudasai” must be understood not just as going on a date with someone but becoming officially one’s boyfriend or girlfriend 🌚 (basically Sanji is almost asking that, what are you waiting for Sanji??)
This is just the answers I got and I found so interesting Sanji's choice of words when confessing his feelings to Nami, like there are other words to use if that was just a simple filrt BUT he uses words that for japanese people are meant to be taken seriously🤔🤔
This and other post that I hope to make soon has made me understand a lot better this ship dynamic (and love it a lot more ofc) and why it is so popular in Japan tbh 💜
👒: *lloroso* ⚔️: !!! Hey, que pasa? 👒: Ya los extraño… ⚔️: Quieres que regrese y los traiga a la fuerza? captain 👒: QUEE ! claro que no!, eres un brusco shi shi shi ♡ ⚔️: Si te vuelvo a ver triste, lo haré ♡
escape ♡
This is me thinking about how families would help each other get through nightmares. Although in Sanji’s case, I think he has trauma instead of just nightmares.
