Okay now that the self-promo is over, I just wanted to say how excited I am to be sharing this. This is my second game I've made, and I developed it in about 3-4 days. I play tested it and had a good time, so I am super hoping others do too!!

Creating these print-and-play games is so fun and I really put effort into them, which feels rewarding and exciting, especially when I see the views and downloads count go up haha! But, moreso, just the fact that I made them is incredible and I feel proud of myself :)

Solo tabletop games are such a niche hobby (just like zines!) and I am loving mixing the two.

30 days to start making zines / a list of quick daily tasks to get into zine making

i tried a lot of "30 days challenge to [blank]" when i was a teen. they claimed to help you get into a habit. never worked for me, i've heard the science was junk but also the habits in question were rarely fun anyway.

i wanted to take a fun twist on those and make a list of tiny tasks you can do over the course of a month to get into zine making. when you want to commit to a project, making contact with it regularly is the goal! not necessarily achieving big steps in said project every day.

so here's my take on a zine making calendar! each day has a small task that can take a few minutes to however long you have and want to put into it. by the end you'll only have made one or two minizines if you only follow the list

i have a printable version available here, you could cut each strip of paper, fold them leaving only the number visible, and store them in a jar or envelope to pull your surprise task of the day over the 30 days

So You Met Your Doppelgänger: How to deal with the other You. 

A practical guide.

Step 1: Don’t Panic. 

Your doppelgänger might be as confused as you are. Determine if they are:

a) a shapeshifter

b) a time traveler

c) a clone

d) from an alternate universe

e) a long-lost twin

f) any of the above…plus evil

IMPORTANT!

Do not assume your doppelgänger is evil. They probably are not trying to take over your life or hurt you.

Probably.

Step 2: Learn about each other.

Determine which of the following applies to you and your doppelgänger: 

- You have the same skills, likes, dislikes and personalities

- You are inverses of each other–different skills; opposite likes and dislikes

- You share the same memories

- You share new memories each of you creates (this may require testing)

Step 3: Decide how to co-exist. 

Depending on the goals of you and your doppelgänger, decide if you will share one life (one identity) or have two lives (two identities). 

Weigh the pros and cons, as well as ethical concerns.
