#ThePitt has the narrative music of #TheWestWing , with the heart of such an ensemble cast.
Truly brilliant.
Spring's here.
But my heart isn't.
My thoughts
Live life as if today may be your last
Be kind
Be sweet
Be you
Be friendly
Do unto others as you want done to you
Be a man or woman of good intentions
Be stern
But be fair
Live full
Live free
Live good
For time is a precious commodity
Don’t be afraid to take new paths
Don’t be afraid to start a new
Because in the end we all regret only the choices we have not made in our lives
Live life full always,
#myinnerthoughts
Excellent Advice🦋🦋🦋
Dear HBOMAX
Dear HBOMAX.
It's surprising to hear that more seasons are yet to be given to #TheGirlsOntheBus show.
The great cast and crew could, and should be given the chance to, tell more of their well thought-out stories.
I found that only one season was a mere introduction to these complex characters. After all, there really is a difference between a background and a deep background reporting, right?
They are all polar bears, it seemed, whose roars should be heard by more people for years to come. Please consider giving them more seasons. #SaveTheGirlsonTheBus.
Above image is a pride flag with every color band represented by a NASA image. White is Earth clouds, pink is aurora, blue is the Sun in a specific wavelength, brown is Jupiter clouds, black is the Hubble deep field, red is the top of sprites, orange is a Mars crater, yellow is the surface of Io, green is a lake with algae, blue is Neptune, and purple is the Crab Nebula in a specific wavelength.
One side effect of my research for this novel being steeped heavily in textile history is my swelling disgust with modern fabrics.
Firstly they're so thin? Like most things you see in Old Navy or even department stores might as well be tissue paper?? Even some branded sports t-shirts I've bought in recent years (that are supposed to be 'official apparel' and allegedly decent quality) are definitely not going to hold up more than a year or two without getting little holes from wear.
This side of even two hundred years ago fabrics were made to be used for YEARS, and that's with wearing them way more often because you only owned like three sets of clothes. They were thick and well made and most importantly made to LAST. And they were gorgeous?? Some of the weaves were so fine and the drape so buttery we still don't entirely know how these people managed to make them BY HAND. Not to mention intricate patterning and details that turned even some simple garments into freaking ART.
I know this is not news, the fast fashion phenomenon is well documented. Reading so much about the amazing fabrics we used to create and how we cherished and valued them, though, is making it hard not to mourn what we lost to mass production and capitalism. Not just the quality of the clothing and fabrics themselves, but the generations of knowledge and techniques that are just gone. It makes me what to cry.
I need to get a sewing machine.

holly miranda - waves
I can still recall being at her Sydney Opera House concert and being mesmerized by her exquisite music.
It was at The Studio inside the Opera House in the year of 2010 - a venue that I had not been in before (The Concert Hall was where I’d frequented for - you guessed it - concerts).
I shall be honest at this point; I hadn’t heard the entirety of her album prior to the concert. In fact, it was only this song, Waves, that I’d listened to, before departing for the concert. I wanted - you see, I wanted to be surprised.
If the concert were to end up being dull, I would’ve just shrugged and found solace in the fact that, at the very least, I got to visit a new part of the Opera House.
Folks, it was anything but boring, in the best possible way.
I’m truly glad that I got to see and listen to her music Live in that cozy venue - for some reason, if memory serves, I remember us - myself and the audience, sitting on the floor? (Please correct me if I’m wrong, folks).
I can’t recall her setlist clearly, but I do remember being particularly glad for being able to sing along when I recognized the beginning of the song, Waves
(while my ‘strategy’ to be surprised might’ve worked here, it would’ve been much better, in retrospect, if I had been able to recognize all the songs that she played that night.).
The darkness within the venue, a spectrum of blue and purple lights around, the acoustics. It really was how I’d hoped her concert would be - magical.
As the concert ended, on the way home, I remember walking along the Harbour (or was it called the Wharf? It was definitely on the way to the Circular Quay station), thinking; ‘The Night is calm and quiet.
The Music was subliminal taste of wonder that painted the stars with bright lights.
I wish this Night could last till the end of time.’
A lot has happened in the last 13 years. - I’ve graduated from uni, moved back ‘home’ across the planet. Blizzards, wars, earthquakes, tsunamis and pandemic (still ongoing) happened. Also, Holly Miranda’s 5th album is out this year.
See? A whole lot has happened and times will continue to change and masses of memories will be formed and forgotten.
But I can still feel my footsteps along the steps of Sydney Opera House that night; I can still hear the magic that was in the air as I sat in that venue, listening to a brilliant artist; I let go, and the waves come back.
Sometimes, the Night never ends.
Art saves lives.
Boo! Did we get you? 🎃
This solar jack-o-lantern, captured by our Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) in October 2014, gets its ghoulish grin from active regions on the Sun, which emit more light and energy than the surrounding dark areas. Active regions are markers of an intense and complex set of magnetic fields hovering in the sun’s atmosphere.
The SDO has kept an unblinking eye on the Sun since 2010, recording phenomena like solar flares and coronal loops. It measures the Sun’s interior, atmosphere, magnetic field, and energy output, helping us understand our nearest star.

Reasons Why.
In light of #13ReasonsWhy, it may be appropriate for me to write a few words as to the reasons why you should stay alive.
See, people say that the act of committing suicide is an act of cowardice - that most people choose not to take that “easy way out”, even in the light of the state that the world is in these days.
In the mindset of a suicidal person, I doubt that it would matter if other people saw them as cowards, for nothing may seem to matter to those that are dead.
You’re not a coward, or weak, for having the desperate hope to end the nightmares that may be haunting you in this very moment; it may be in the form of bullies, or poor grades, or peer pressures, or assaults...
Others say that suicide is an act that inflicts a world of pain to those that still love you.
It’s true - but you don’t really care about that, do you?
They’ve let you down.
People let you down.
(But do keep trying to find someone to talk to, though...There’s always someone.)
I do wonder though...could you be the hero that you really need?
(If heroism doesn’t seem appealing to you...why not become a friend for yourself to lean on?)
If you feel that there’s no one out there that might help you;
if you feel that there’s no one that you could open up your heart to
- I’d strongly advise you to look for those that could never let you down; it could be any one of those books; songs; poems; movies; or even tv-shows.
Mediums of Creative Arts.
Look for those words and characters that give you that sense of hope, or trust that no one else in your life seems to give you. Those creative voices that tell you, that there’s more to this life than the horrors of your present Time.
Hold on to those.
It was Sherlock Holmes for me during my teenage years and as the years went by, the list of things that keep me on this planet have grown.
Doctor Who
Critical Role
Everybody Loves Me by OneRepublic.
Scars by Anna Nalick.
Twilight by Vanessa Carlton
Sober by Kelly Clarkson
The West Wing
Elizabethtown
The list keeps growing and it’s okay if your list doesn’t grow.
Even if it were just one book,
one song,
That one line in your favourite poem.
Don’t let anyone, or anything else, keep you away from it.
Hold onto it.
If you’re worried that you might become addicted to it; that you won’t grow out of it...
Never fear - Time will tell.
And, if you do manage to wake up the next day, or after the nap that you’d just taken, and you try becoming a hero for your own sanity...
Well, the World is in dire need of heroes like you.
Heroes that could still be kind towards themselves and others.
Face down those that try to bring you down with kindness and the hope for better days.
That vicious cycle of helplessness shall not take away the days that may bring you joy and hope.
After all these years, Holmes still stands with me,
I shall Stand with you.
#13ReasonsWhy, and more, why you may want to end it all.
But one beautiful reason to keep on living
to keep trying.
-You are not alone.
Happy Holidays.
It’s been a while... I may be still unemployed & jobless, but I shall still wish you Happy Holidays,
Because,
Love should always be around.

#RUOK
I've been asked this question several times over the last four years - scratch that, I've been asked about my well-being by others since my teen years.
Well,
Even though the Hashtag #RUOK is for spreading positivity around, I fear that I can't, and never been able to, answer with an affirmative; true, I'm one of those lucky people that get to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, such as being able to sleep in my own bed, having a roof and walls to shield me from the elements, and not having worry too much about the next meal. But I'm still stuck without a goal...
It's crucial, though, to ask each other if they're okay because, let's face it, we're all living in our own bubbles if we take others for granted; what if they're going through emotional turmoil and that all they needed was an open and friendly ear to speak to? or what if they just wanted to be cared and noticed? Let them know, that they are loved, or at least noticed. Unintentional ostracism is just as harmful as if it were done intentionally. #RUOK?
