I've finished it ...the last set of 3 visions that Dany has in HOTU - in The Warlock's Chamber- the BRIDE OF FIRE set ....the next set is the Mother of Dragons (MHYSSA) set ....which is comprised of 7 visions this time ...

Working on my HOTU series - and I'm drawing the next set of visions after the "Slayer of Lies " set - which is "Bride of Fire" . Hopefully I will finish it next week ...because of Easter holiday ...🤞😀🎨

But meanwhile , like I've done with the other sets - I've started with the title ...which is another face of Dany ....BRIDE OF FIRE ..

Working on my HOTU series and re-reading the text ...I've re-read the chapter before Dany enters HOTU ....and it's the chapter with the fire mage and the fire stair and also it's the chapter where Quaithe is telling Dany that misterious text (" to reach north ...etc") for the first time ... and in my head every time I read this bit ...Quaithe has a mask like a mirror ...because the red mask is lacquered...so it's a reflective surface...so I think Quaithe functions ....also...sometimes like a reflection of Dany and her surroundings....like some kind of conscious ...reflecting back at Dany her fears and desires ...

I've redone the "Daughter of Death " set of Dany's visions in HOTU ...because re-reading the text I understood that all the titles / denominations that she is receiving from the Undying Ones ( Slayer of Lies, Daughter of Death , Bride of Fire etc) is an integral part of each set of visions ...it indicates somehow what will her actions be ...and how she will be perceived by the world ...that's why I've changed my composition using the same elements from my prior version. Also another thing that stood out to me -from the text-this time around ...were the colours of the visions ...meaning that the colour of the characters from the visions ( dead or alive) 😊is blue -ink ...like the Undying ones ..only the elements that are "fire and blood" are perceived as red ...you know ( the sunset sword, the blood rubies from Rhaegar chest, the molted crown....and Dany herself - because she is the embodiment of "fire and blood)...so I've tried to capture this atmosphere...dual chromatic 😊that is described in the books ...

The next set of visions is the "Bride of Fire " visions ....and I'm still searching for an answer about ...who is the "the corpse at the bow of a ship smiling sadly" ? Any thoughts?

HOTU-Working on my HOTU series ...the visions from the warlock's chamber ...and I've noticed that after each set of three vision ...the Undying are saying "mother of dragons " and something else ...like some kind of title for Dany...in this case ( my composition) is "daughter of death" that comes after the first set of visions ( that I've already drawn) .

And ...I was really lost ...because what does it mean "daughter of death" ? ...it's so abstract...does it mean that she is her father's daughter ...because Aerys was mad and he killed a lot of people...? It's about carrying her parents and her forebears mistakes and limits ...and she will have to redeem those mistakes? Is it about that the Targaryens are "dragons" and thus ...destructive? Does she has a chance to break this cycle? 🤷‍♀️I don't know ...but the more I read Dany's chapters ...especially this one..the more I feel for her ...she performed a miracle ( hatching the dragons) and now the entire world wants something from her ....because everybody is thinking that she can do it again ...another miracle ...From abolition of slavery to killing the others and fulfilling prophecies...of course she can do everything...she hatched dragons...right? I feel so sorry for her ...she's only 15-16 in this chapter ... and really alone...

I think Dany walked into that pyre a girl and walked out of it some kind of goddess with many ,many faces to show to the world ..so here it is one of them ...DAUGHTER OF DEATH ...

I find Aeron Damphair one of the most scary but terrible fascinating characters of ASOIAF...is he dead? is he alive? does the Drowned God truly exists? does it matter? or is Aeron The Prophet just a coping mechanism to an old and dark trauma? .....

I've added this ...😊to give him a little bit of context...felt like without the sea,Nagga's bones and a little bit of rocks ...it's not Aeron 🤷‍♀️it was to abstract...I think ..

These are the details of the last composition that I've post it " The cutting of Jaime's Hand"

This chapter always fascinates me ...because everything happens so fast...you go from killing "cousin Cleos" to the duel with Brienne ....and then they are captured by The Brave Companion ...meeting Vargo Hoat ( which is this guy so so bored totally desensitised - he's not even scarry - like war and violence is so mundane ...) ...and after Jaime FINALLY does something right- rescuing Brienne from rape - (after being such an asshole , perpetual complaint ,so nihilist, and the Only Existentialist of the story😊) ...you are at the end of the chapter ....a jester jumps on his back ...and you think to yourself they're going to kill him ...the arrack ...the scream....and that's it 🤷‍♀️ Every time this chapter gets to me because everything is so absurd ...almost nonsensical....I think Jaime expects to die ...I think he is prepared for it ...I think on some level he is wishing for it ...because he despises himself so much ...but ...no man, they are going to torture him more 😊He gets to live ....without his hand ....now what ? 🤷‍♀️

I think his story is the reverse of Jon's story ...if Jon is an example of what happens when you only do your duty without protecting your loves , your desires, your wants ...Jaime is the opposite of that what happens when you only protect your loves, your desires , your wants. Even his greatest deed is because of love - I suspect that the salvation of the people in King's Landing is not because he loves humanity so much ...he is incapable of loving this way...abstract in a sense...it's because Aerys send him to kill his own father(Tywin) ...which he( Jaime ) despises and loves equally ( like he loves and despises his sister ) ....but ...his father is Family ...and he loves and protects his family no matter what..

The same goes with what he did to Bran ....in that moment Bran was a threat to his sister - because he witnessed the incest and Cercei was Queen- and like always he did what needs to be done for his Love....it didn't matter that Bran was a child ...or who's child was he 🤷‍♀️ it wasn't personal ...he was a threat ...so..he disconnected ,disengaged with reality ...and the consequences of that reality and Bran flew...

I think , because of this action - that in a way marks the beginning of the story -in my head at list Jaime's story is very much tied up with Bran's story ... that's why the arrack like a "crescent moon " from my drawing,the crows ...or the tower in the back - which in the text is a small ruined sept- and the septon ( also drawn) is hanging from it ... - the hanged septon I think ties in with this idea of Catelyn / Lady Stoneheart...Also what I love is that the end of the chapter happens at sunset ...when the sun goes out and the moon rises ...and shadows appear ...I've also tried to capture that ...because is a motif in Jaime's character arc ...Catelyn sees him and his hair is turning from gold to white because of the moon ... also this motif of day turning into the night ties in with his ,later, weirwood dream....

And I can go on on .. but I will stop here ...😊

I haven't post it in a while ...because of work - I just finished a loooooong project I was in- but I'm back and I've finished ( after many ,many variants) ....finally ....The Cutting of Jaime's Hand ..😊

In the next days I will also post ( like I always do) each detail (element) of the composition separately...with thoughts and explanations!😊

I haven't post it in a while ...because of work and also because I didn't know how to draw this visions that Dany has in the warlock's chamber ...because they feel different from the first ones that she has ..when she enters in HOTU..meaning ...the first ones feels more like choices that she will have to make ...and these ones feels more like "destiny" ..I think ...meaning things that happened, happens and will happened without her choice....

It's really strange...because the first ones are like a game...she can choose to interact with the characters that she meets along the way ...but -she is warned by Pyat Pree - if she chooses to do so and enters one the rooms she will be trapped in HOTU. So she can choose to help the woman assaulted by the dwarfs , or the Wolf King surrounded by dead people , or she can remain in the house with red door together with Willem Darry....but in this visions that she has in the warlock's chamber ...she sits in a chair and feels like she is just registering what she sees without any input..like it wasn't her choice to kill Viserys by molted gold, or to sacrifice her unborn child, or to move to Bravoos in the house with a red door, or to have a flaming sword like Stannis...and so on and on...so all of those things that she is seeing here ...are other people choices that had or will have a great impact on her...and I really love how they are written...all of this visions...because it's like in real life ...some things we can choose some we can't but we are influenced by other people choices...and you have to find balance in your life between all of this...

Also what I find interesting is that the first visions feels like a game of cat and mouse...meaning ..the Undying Ones ...they don't know her...and they are throwing a lot of stuff at her ...trying to trap her...I mean ...she walks a long time on that corridor opening a lot of different doors ...with a lot of visions ...but she is interested in only some of them..😊it's really funny actually...how they are bargaining with her...maybe this...maybe the other...maybe she will forfeit for compassion ( vision with the woman and Wolf King) , maybe for power( vision with the throne room and Barbed King) , maybe for longing and peace( vision of the house with red door and Willem Darry) , maybe for knowledge ( vision with Singer and his wife) ...On a side note I think the strangest visions are the ones with Wolf King and the one with the Singer and his wife...I mean for us , the reader , the Wolf King vision is a foreshadowing of the Red Wedding...but for her , for Dany ...🤷‍♀️I don't know ...I don't think it's the same...why is it important for her to see the Red Wedding...and also she can choose to help...how ? she is a continent away when it happens...no...I think for her it's about another Wolf King ...and other dead people...and she will have to make a choice...to help the King or not ... Also the vision with the Singer and his wife..Rhaegar ...it's really strange ...because it's the only vision that finishes before she is leaving ...she finally decides to stay - she doesn't enter the room- but she wants to hear the song...but the characters are turned into mist and she doesn't hear the ending of the song🤷‍♀️strange ...right? I mean it feels almost like ...an oops moment...like Rhaegar when he tells her about " the dragon must have three heads" ...I don't know ...feels like he slipped away something that he shouldn't have...and the Undying Ones are ..like 😊"ooops you shouldn't have heard that" ..and they are turning Rhaegar into a mist before he finishes the song...really strange...

So....because of all of this thoughts ...I didn't know how to draw this visions ...this ones from the warlock's chamber ...but then I've noticed that ...in the text they are grouped as 3 visions...3 times ...and after each group of visions ..there is this interlude when the Undying Ones are saying " mother of dragons...daughter of death" etc...so I've decided to draw them like this ...so here they are ...the first 3 ...her brother Viserys and his golden crown, her stillborn child Rhaego and the death of her brother Rhaegar....

And I will stop here for now...😊
