“Quite a number really… and they seem to be increasing as time moves on.” However it mostly remains one and that person being the gap sage. The half-youkai would refrain from even a mention of this, though. He can’t say the same for two individuals however.

“For example, there are two that treat my place as if it was their own home. Calling them women wouldn’t exactly fit however, if anything they’re more of kids.”

With just their mention alone, the half-youkai couldn’t help but rub their head. Not really sure what to do with such individuals and their habits to begin with.

Iku let out a chuckle.  She had a guess as to the two that Rinnosuke was referring to.

“That sounds quite exasperating, Mr. Morichika.  Though if I’m not mistaken you almost sound like a father talking about his daughters.”

“Thank you, young miss, I put alot of effort into my appearance.  It would hardly do for the envoy of the Dragon Palace to be ugly.”

Does Iku have any bad habits?

The only real bad habit she has is Smoking.  Although she doesn’t indulge in it regularly as she wouldn’t want the smell to hang on her clothing, home, or office.  Every so often the stress and pressures of her job get to her and Iku gives in.

Beyond that, Iku has several things that she thinks of as sort of bad habits; although it’s questionable if they actually are.

In the rare time that she can be free of her duties, Iku enjoys going to the lower  world and taking part in the nightlife.  The wilder the better.  Iku feels it is a bad habit as she exits to serve the Dragon Palace and by extension the Celestials, yet it is something she enjoys, made all the more so by her feeling that it is a bit of a transgression for her to do so.

She’s also has a bit of trouble with moderation when drinking.  Not to any absurd or comical degree or anything, but she drinks so rarely that she never really developed the intuition that those that do have when it comes to alcohol.  This is compounded by the fact that being drunk still hasn’t lost it’s novelty for her, so she’s often disinclined to try and limit herself.  Yet at the same time, she feels someone in her position shouldn’t be getting drunk publicly.  This only adds to it’s transgressive appeal for her.

Rinno thinks Iku is a nice company have a conversation with. Someone he couldn't see doing something just so she could tease him for attention or anything else. If anything, he'd like to talk to her more about her line of work or just about herself over tea if not a bottle of sake.

Iku would not be adverse to that idea.

“For humans, her actions as of now can be called being in a ‘rebellious phase’, one that simply seeks attention no matter what the cost.” Rinnosuke remarks with a light chuckle.

“Technically, that celestial is still young, correct? If anything, she simply needs someone to guide her to at least be mature.” He didn’t mind the carefree attitude though. In all honesty, his view on that certain celestial was just that they wanted to live more freely. Of course, he says nothing of this to the other, instead, they’d would just continue on relaxing with Iku near him.

Iku could only sight

“If only it were that simple” 

She leaned back and let herself slide further under the water until only her head was still above water.  She had realized just how much tension and stress was still coiled up in between her shoulder blades.

“But no matter, I’m sure it will all resolve in time.”

She really wasn’t, but she both didn’t want burden Rinnosuke with whining about Celestial politics, nor did she think it was appropriate to do so, despite wanting to.

“So how about you?”  Iku continued, looking for a change in subject,  “Any troublesome women in your life?”

“It doesn’t stop them from using it as a means to annoy me, though.” The half-youkai remarked. He even ended up smiling after hearing a tidbit more of information about her line of work. Eyes, now focused on the other instead of her attire.

“That certainly sounds rough. You have my sympathy…”

Though his line of work may be different from her, there was something they shared even if there may be something distinct. How he worries about certain people in his life, despite their capabilities. Speaking of ‘that’ celestial… 

“Actually, that girl you’re looking after was here a few hours ago. Though she came at the men’s side of the hotsprings like the rest, all of them were complaining about how dirty this part had gotten.” And as he went on, he couldn’t help but bring his hand up to his forehead, massaging it for a bit as he recalls the events that transpired today. “The least they could do was clean it up themselves. I mean, they use this place afterall.”

“I see...”

Iku let out a mildly frustrated sigh.  Minding Tenshi, wasn’t technically her job, however the Hinanawi clan had done much for her, it wouldn’t be right for her to not return the favour.

Straightening her posture more out of habit than intention, centuries of working in the highly formal environment of the Dragon Palace had ingrained certain habits into her.

“I do hope that she behaved herself.  As I mentioned, she is a bit naive about the ways things work outside of the heavens.”

It may be that it’s because the moon is full, rather than just a little sliver in the sky. A bit harder to ignore a full moon, regardless of what time of day it is.

Needless to say - she wasn’t expecting someone to answer her. Did this lady just say Dragon Palace? In Bhava-agra?

　 　 “Maeriberi Hearn… I’m afraid to say I don’t have a title.”

“A pleasure to meet you Maeriberi.”

Iku would approach Maeriberi on foot rather than flying.  She was unsure what if any the etiquette for flight and position was among humans of the outside world.  But she suspected that not elevating herself above the others eye-line was probably a good start.

“If I might ask, what brings you this far out?  It is not common to see humans from the far side of the barrier so far away from the village or shrines.”

Not that Iku really knew that, but it was a good conversation starter as any.

A human?  One from the outside world no less if clothing was to be a gauge.  In any case, very much a welcome surprise.  Iku does not often get the chance to socialize with mortal humans in a casual setting.

“It is, young miss.  The moon can be seen on most clear days”

“I am Iku Nagae, envoy of the Dragon Palace in Bhava-agra.”

That was a relief, an answer that vague wouldn’t cause paper work for Iku.

“Indeed, eldest daughter, no-one other than vampires would want such a thing.  If you do not mind, I will have to take my leave right now.  I have much I would like to do in the lower world before I am next called back to the palace.”

“You’ll see shortly. I was going to do this yesterday, but had to postpone in the face of some… unorthodox weather.”

Iku would certainly find it quite relieving to hear that Tenshi wasn’t to blame for that particular mess.  But unfortunately, duty still compels Iku to ask for more information.

“I have heard of that blood rain, Eldest Daughter.  Do you happen to know who caused that?  It has caused me a great deal of paper work.”

Blasphemous message or not.  Relaying messages to and from the palace is Iku’s job after all.

“Certainly, I’ll be sure to relay your words when we go through the blasphemies, names taken in vain and curses next week.”

They do this (quietly) when the Dragon God sleeps.    No point reason to bother the Dragon God with such trivialities after all.

“That is gratifying to hear Eldest Daughter.  If I might inquire, how are you planning on doing good?”

“Then please avoid giving it any with bad behavior.” A little more blunt than Iku liked being with celestials, but Iku wasn’t worried about most celestials throwing keystones at shrines.
