You and Obito had been best friends since you both were little
So naturally, the news of his passing during his mission hit you hard, causing you to spend the next months grieving him, and later your mutual friend Rin, as well
You spent most of your days at the graveyard, talking to both his and Rin's graves, completely unaware of the dark figure lurking by the trees, overhearing your monologues like they had done so often these past months
That's how Obito learned of your true feelings for him and the regrets you felt for never having the chance to confess them
He would watch your every move throughout the village, your interactions with other people and even when you lay curled up on your bed, clutching that silly plush bunny he had won for you a couple of years ago at the carnival, he would be there. Staring at you through the window the entire night
He knew he had other, more important things to focus on. But just like a moth to a flame, he was drawn to you. Bound by the bond you two had once shared and which he so desperately was trying to sever
He even considered killing you, so you would stop occupying his mind like a parasite. But he couldn't. Your innocence and your purity were just too precious. Like a delicate little flower that needed to be protected from the forces of nature
Over time, the affection he once felt for you changed drastically and became more and more a twisted version of what it once was. Bordering on obsession
Obito, unable to stop himself from spiraling deeper into the abyss of his obsession with you and your well-being, developed a sense of possessiveness over you and became incredibly jealous whenever someone dared to talk to you or even made you smile
Sometimes, his jealousy would overcome any sense of logical thinking, causing him to kill those filthy mongrels trying to approach you and take you away from him, leaving you and the village concerned about the increasing numbers of missing people
Going so far as to deliberately sow distrust towards you and make the people in the village get suspicious of you. Because factually speaking? You were the last person these villagers/shinobi had been seen with before their sudden disappearance (and it definitely played into his cards for his plans anyway)
Steadfast in his decision to keep you protected from this cruel and unjust world at all costs and with the village pretty much distrusting you now anyway thanks to him? Obito concludes that the only way to ensure your innocence and purity would never be tainted by the harsh reality, would be to keep you close to him
Just as the sun was about to set and you were about to head back home after spending hours at the graveyard, you felt someone grab your arm
Before you could say something, the world around you began to spin and within less than a heartbeat, you suddenly found yourself standing in a dimly lit room
Confused and scared by the sudden change of scenery, you quickly turn your head and come face to face with an unknown person wearing a mask
To your question about who the other person is and where you are, Obito curtly replies with "Madara Uchiha" and "My hideout"
Further questions will either be ignored, or answered with as little information as possible. The last thing he needs is having you interrogate him on his motivations behind his actions like he was some criminal. Because that would be absurd! He was the saviour of this counterfeit world!
All that matters to him now is that you are here. With him. Safe and sound in an environment he knows you cannot get hurt in
Of course you weren't happy about your current situation and on more than one occasion, you had looked for a way out of this horrible place
But the end result was always the same: Getting caught by Obito and brought back to "your" room, followed by a gentle scolding and an overly sweet reminder that this was the only way to keep you safe from the cruel reality awaiting you outside
Being trapped in here, with no way of telling what time it currently was, with little to no form of enrichment and with no one to talk to, except for your kidnapper and those weird, humanoid looking things, which called themselves "Zetsu", was slowly but surely grating at your nerves and sanity
Frustrated and desperate for even the slightest change in your dull day to day routine, you would lash out at Obito. Calling him a number of things for holding you hostage and demanding proper answers. And at first, he would stay calm and composed, blaming your agitation and hysteria on you not having fully adjusted to your new environment yet and him not being around much due to his preparations for the Infinite Tsukuyomi
But even Obito's patience eventually reached its limits and before you knew it, he was right up to your face, his crimson coloured eye boring into yours and a gloved hand gripping your chin tightly as he reminded you in a low but calm tone that you being here was for your own good and that you should be grateful for him saving you from living in a literal hell
Sensing your fear, Obito would immediately backpedal and return to his sickeningly sweet and overly affectionate behaviour, assuring you that he only wants what's best for you and that he would protect you with his life
As days turn into months, Obito would go out of his way to spoil you rotten. He would often cook for you or get your favourite takeout, bring all of your personal belongings to his underground lair and overall just make sure you don't miss anything and feel comfortable and at home
Whenever you express your wish to see your friends and family, whom you are missing a lot, he'd scowl under his mask
"If they truly missed you as much as you miss them, they would've found you by now. Clearly, you've never meant anything to them." He would say casually, knowing there was no way in hell anyone could ever find you here
Of course you don't believe a single word he says, because why would you?? He was the reason why you were stuck in here in the first place
But then he would simply remind you of the fact that the village had accused you of doing something terrible to your fellow Hidden Leaf folks and that they inevitably would have kicked you out or worse, had he not come and taken you with him
Obito would often intentionally put you in a Genjutsu and manipulate your brain into having nightmares about your friends and family leaving you, dying in the most gruesome ways imaginable or the village doing terrible things to you
And every time you wake up in a cold sweat or crying, Obito would "coincidentally" be there right on time to console you, telling you that he was there for you and that everything was going to be okay. And that you were safe as long as you were with him
There would be nights in which you were plagued by numerous of those horrendous nightmares, that Obito would insist on staying with you to "protect" you from those horrible horrible dreams
He would ignore your protests and apply some gentle force as he gets into bed with you, his arms tightly wrapped around your trembling form as he soothingly lulls you back to sleep, once more using Genjutsu to now create pleasant dreams
Obito knows of the contradicting nature of his actions, making you suffer so he could be your knight in shining armour. But in his head, causing you to have nightmares about your loved ones dying is a "necessary" evil and much kinder of him than actually killing them. His goal is to make you see that he's a good caretaker who actually cares about you and not traumatise you
The more time passes, the more aggressive Obito becomes in his love-bombing, practically drowning you in gifts and affectionate gestures
If you call him out on his excessive behaviour, it would be like a physical blow to him. But instead of crashing out or trying to punish you, he would "apologise" for overdoing it and "excuse" his behaviour by telling you that he never really had anyone to share all this pent up affection with and that you are the first person who ever made him feel like he had a real connection with another human being
Ironically, this excuse, which is meant to tug at your conscience, is only a half-lie and consists of some fragments of the old Obito's true feelings buried in the deepest pits of his being
Obito is rather creative when it comes to the lies he feeds you and the way he slowly but surely tears down the walls you have built around yourself for protection
On days when he's especially pleased with your favourable reaction to him, he'll take you outside for some fresh air and a stroll along the banks of a still, moonlit pond
While on bad days, he would intentionally stay away for much longer than necessary and also order the Zetsus not to interact with you other than bringing you food and water
To him, it's not a punishment, but serves as a reminder that his deep affection for you does not protect you from certain consequences if you act out and potentially put yourself in danger
Rest assured that he'll treat you like absolute royalty once more after a couple of days, while telling you that he had no choice but to resort to such drastic measures so you could take the time to calm down again
After years of conditioning, you were completely dependent on Obito for almost everything
Your old life, your friends and family, all of that long forgotten. Obito was the only thing on your mind
He understood you, he was there for you. And he comforted you when no one else would
And you were happy. So, so happy
Whenever he came back from a mission, you would greet him like a 1940's wife would greet her soldier husband who had just come back from war
When he was injured, you would immediately jump into action and treat his wounds
Pleased with your devotion and care towards him, Obito would let you fuss over him as much as you wanted
Sometimes, he would deliberately get himself hurt, just so he could have an excuse to have you tend to him and enjoy the physical touch that he craved so much and which was like a literal drug to him
The years of manipulation have been so effective, both on you and himself, that Obito had successfully gaslit himself into believing that what you two had was true, genuine love and devotion for each other
And maybe, just maybe, a small part of himself, the true Obito Uchiha, the sweet, caring often clumsy boy that you had fallen for so long ago, wasn't entirely lost after all
And as promised: The update on the Itachi figure of the Effectreme line from Banpresto.
The figure is set to be released in July (in Japan) and can be pre-ordered as of now. Other sites, such as BigBadToyStore or Entertainment Earth, should follow suit soon.

One thing I do to keep myself entertained and in a good mood is to imagine how my favourite Naruto characters would react if they suddenly spawned in my bedroom and came face to face with the merch I have of them.
Obito is particularly funny to me, cuz I have a shit ton of stuff of him and just know he'd either strangle me with his own hands, fuck me like the whore I obviously am for him, or sent me to the mental asylum.
kakuzu is the organizer, the whole event is shady as fuck, tickets are cash only. you only get a bunch of coordinates in the middle of some field or abandoned building, dms only invite. you can buy energy drinks, water, and beer, all warm. everything costs 5 times the amount than in the stores, and there isn't enough for everyone.
hidan shows up with nothing but some cash, half naked, in swimming shorts, while everyone else is wearing weather appropriate clothes (longer pants, hoodies etc). he looks like he is definitely on something, sweating like crazy, jumping around, yelling, having the time of his life. nobody knows how he got there. he will be there until the very end. he steps in a glass shard or something, and doesn't notice it until morning.
itachi is sitting on the ground, people around him keep asking him if he's alright, he's fine, this is his happy face, he is having a great time, actually :)
kisame is looking out for itachi, he is one of the volunteers helping the organizers.
deidara and sasori are the djs. they try to play b2b but their styles clash. sasori (tech house, artsy tekk/techno) hates deidara (uptempo, speedcore). deidara is having the time of his life, hidan boos sasori's set.
pain and konan are also organizers, but they thought the venue was legal to use. they look like regular ravers.
tobi and zetsu sell party favors. kakashi is an undercover, and tobi keeps messing with him (gives him a bottle of coke in a plastic shopping bag, when kakashi asks him if he has a bag of coke). zetsu and tobi both act like they're insane and see demons when questioned later. it's a whole comedy bit they practiced beforehand.
konoha-nins are the police forces, tasked to find the source of the noise complaint. around 6 am they try to arrest kakuzu, but he isn't there, and legally cannot be held accountable due to some weird legal loophole only he understands. nobody was harmed, except for hidan (who still didn't notice it), so there isn't a lot anyone can do. the organizers get notified that they cannot use this place again but this is the extent of what the police can do. kakuzu will organize the same event next month, only it will be 300 meters away from the previous place.
The vibration stars Hidan figure will have two available versions and is set to be released in June. (At least in Japan and in July or August outside of it) But you can pre-order him on several sites already. The same goes for the Tobi figure.
According to my information, Kakuzu and Zetsu will be released in July and aren't available for pre-orders yet.
And regarding the effectreme line (Itachi, Sasori and Deidara), both Sasori and Deidara are available for pre-orders and will drop around May to June in Japan and October to November in Europe and the States. (According to some sources and BigBadToyStore.com Sasori might be released and delivered in August. But when you receive him depends heavily on which website you order him from.)
Itachi's release date is yet to be confirmed. But if I had to guess, he'll probably drop around the same time. He's just not available for pre-orders yet.

Kankuro nearly scalded his oesophagus with the brewing hot tea he was about to enjoy when you decided to drop the biggest bomb on him
Sputtering and cursing, he just sits there, his tea now all over the table and floor as his eyes wander from your face to your stomach and then back to your face again
"Pregnant?? As in "growing a baby in your tummy" pregnant??"
Oh dear...
"...Is there another kind of pregnant I don't know about?" You'd ask him flatly, stunned by his rather silly question
"No... no I suppose there isn't..." He conceded, his face and the tips of his ears beet red upon realising his mishap
Finding his sheepish reaction adorable, you laugh it off and kneel down beside him, giving him a playful nudge with you shoulder
With a somewhat petulant expression, he huffs and nudges you back before his expression turns serious and he takes in your appearance
It is clear by the emotions flickering in his eyes that he was completely overwhelmed by the situation and not even in the slightest bit prepared
If it had been up to him, you could have waited just a little bit longer before starting a family. But, as always, life rarely goes according to plan
On the bright side, Kankuro has now a very valid excuse to put a ring on you much earlier than he had originally planned. And luckily for you, he happens to have the necessary tool practically lying around
After a much less grand, but nevertheless unforgettable proposal, you two find yourself facing not one, but two major milestones in your lives at once
However, poor Kankuro didn't think of the truck load of stress that came with this package deal and now has to bear with the consequences of his impulsiveness
You've never seen the puppeteer scrambling to get everything done like this before, considering his usually laid back demeanor. It's as amusing as it is worrying and you can't help but feel sorry for putting him through this ordeal
Knowing he can't handle everything by himself, and not wanting to put you and the baby through unnecessary stress, he asks his siblings for help
After a very long conversation, and some intense scolding from both Temari and Gaara, you and Kankuro leave the wedding planning stuff to them, so you can focus on the pregnancy and some minor wedding related stuff, like picking out the rings or arranging an appointment with the tailor
Throughout your pregnancy, Kankuro practically carries you on his hands
He'll be there every time your morning sickness hits, even though he is close to throwing up himself when the stench hits his nostrils
Or run to the nearest convenient store in the middle of the night to get everything your cravings demand
He for sure questions some of the food combinations you so happily devour. But who knows, maybe pickles with peanut butter, mustard and mini marshmallows sprinkled on top aren't half as disgusting as they sound and look
Kankuro will, if possible, accompany you to every appointment and nearly lose his marbles upon seeing his little one on the ultrasound for the first time
He may or may not shed a tear or two at the sound of the baby's heartbeat
The wedding takes place about three months before the due date
Thanks to Kankuro being rather wealthy, and his siblings wanting their brother and you to have a breathtakingly beautiful day you'll never forget, the wedding will be grand but traditional
There will be lots of different dishes from all across the lands, as well as well-wishes from all kinds of important people, like the other Kage and even the Daimyō of the Land of Wind
When Kankuro sees you walking down the aisle, he can't help but feel both giddy and nervous to the point of nearly fainting
You just look so stunning and radiant and if it weren't for Gaara, who was the man of honour, he probably would've skipped the whole ceremony bullshit and kissed you right on the spot
Once the priest asks the question of all questions and you both respond with "Yes", Kankuro throws all his restraints out of the window and kisses you like he has never kissed you before
Given your delicate state, and Kankuro's anxiety regarding your well-being and that of the baby, the puppeteer will stay close to you and ensure you rest as much as possible
At the end of the day when you two lay snuggled up in bed, feeling exhausted but happy, Kankuro just can't help but look forward to spending the rest of his life with you by his side, knowing that as long as you have each other, you'll overcome any obstacles
