About:

Hello there, and welcome to the first ever Obi-Wan Whump Mini Bang! This event is hosted by two moderators @ihathbenobiwankenobied and @hellotemporaryuniverse who are both participants in the whump fandom for Obi-Wan and wanted to create an event for those with the same interests. This event is meant to be similar to a big bang, but on a smaller scale. What does that mean? Mostly, the required word count is lower and there is a shorter period of time between sign-ups and when the final reveal is scheduled.

The sign-up time frames and links for writers and artists are noted below:

Additional Information:

It is currently planned for artists to claim their prompts between Saturday, February 3rd and Monday, February 5th. This time period for claims can and will be adjusted based on information collected during the sign-ups for this event. See FAQ for more information on the claims process.

Currently, works are planned to be revealed starting on Saturday, April 6th and through the following week. If you would like to sign up, we encourage you to make sure you have availability during this week to post your work.

Any and all questions can be sent through direct messages or through ask and will be answered daily throughout the sign-up weeks.

The comforts that make us feel numb

Summary: A grunt, a metallic clang, boots stomping not scuffing, the click of– Blasterfire rang out, the shots echoing through the wind before Obi-Wan could grasp the fact that it had come from behind him. Then there was pain. (Or, Cody and an injured Obi-Wan are stranded on Raxus. In an effort to keep his general alive, Cody drags him through the forest.)

A SOFT SPOT AND A CLOSE CALL

Based on the episode "Bound for Rescue" of the Clone Wars (TV series) in Ep 8 S5 and the epic kick in the guts Obi-Wan took from General Grievous during the assault on the Negotiator. General Kenobi is seriously hurt and barely rescue on time. He is brought to the Halls of Healing in critical condition. While the medical team struggles to save his life, Master Yoda remembers a time when an infant named Obi-Wan, from Stewjon, was brought to the temple very sick too.

Fighting for my life trying to balance fandom things with real life but we made it! My entry for the Obi-Wan Whump Mini-Bang! I partnered with @fromthemouthofzabe (Ao3) to illustrate a scene from their fic entry.

I've never tried to draw Grievous before! .............. It might be awhile before I try again! Actually he was very fun to draw but so very complicated haha

Summary:

After a desperate, drawn-out siege, Obi-Wan is forced to surrender to separatist forces in order to save what is left of his men. As a captive of General Grievous, Obi-Wan tries his best to keep his men safe – and his spirit intact.

After placing the vibrolade on his belt, Korvo began probing Obi-Wan’s plastoid armour, fingers searching for the clasps. “No more games, Mister Negotiator,” he grunted, chuckling softly as piece by piece of the protective armour clattered to the floor. With a twist of his hand, he ripped the front of Jedi’s tunics open, exposing Obi-Wan’s torso to the cold air of the room.

Obi-Wan shivered involuntarily as Korvo’s rough, sweaty fingers rucked his tunics further open, his eyes widening as the vibroblade flashed in the glowlights.

With a triumphant sneer, Korvo leaned closer, pressing the tip of the vibroblade to the base of Obi-Wan’s neck. “I know you were meeting a contact. Tell us who.”

Obi-Wan took a deep breath, whimpering as the blade began to pierce his skin. “Very well, I’ll tell you. I was sent to meet the factory head, a Mister Nosk. The Council was hoping to negotiate a weapons contract with him,” Obi-Wan choked out. He then looked down, head bowed in defeat as he hoped against hope that Korvo would believe his cover story.

Of course nothing was ever that easy.

With a soft growl, Korvo dug the blade into Obi-Wan’s chest, piercing the skin, and with a twist of his arm, cut across the top of Obi-Wan’s collarbone, leaving a jagged red tear in its wake. The Jedi cried out in shocked surprise as the dull vibroblade left a trail of searing, white hot pain.

The Art of Revenge

Summary: When Quinlan Vos comes upon information regarding a Sith lord’s identity, it is agreed that Obi-Wan Kenobi, the famed negotiator, be sent to parley with the informant. Of course it’s a trap, and Darth Sidious has instructed Darth Maul to use all necessary means to extract information from a captive Obi-Wan. Mad with hatred and revenge, Maul resorts to ever more creative ways to break his nemesis.

My heartfelt thanks to @thechaoticfanartist for being such a kind and patient partner throughout this mini bang. I’m extremely fortunate to have been paired with you and to benefit of your amazing creativity. Thank you!!!

Looks like Kenobi had multiple cracked ribs, a collapsed lung, broken arm, bruising nearly everywhere, a moderate concussion, and possible intraabdominal injuries.

It was the last point that made Stim’s heart sink. The lung he could deal with, the bruising wouldn’t kill him, and even the concussion wasn’t a major risk. The broken arm was less good, but again, not a threat to life.

Internal bleeding could be.

Summary:

With a new illness cropping up across the galaxy, Obi-Wan Kenobi's caring nature inevitably puts him at risk. He leads the charge among the Jedi to find ways to live with a condition whose very existence threatens his life and those of his friends. Time passes -- he grows up, gets Knighted, sees another war worse than the one that made him sick -- but all the while, if he runs out of his meds and gets a cold, he could die. Sometimes, it's easier to stick with the mantra he'd helped create when the virus first showed up: give in to love or live in fear.

Depa was sitting just outside the room herself. “Hey.” Shuddering, Obi-Wan slid to the ground beside her. “I’m sorry.” “Thanks,” she said, taking a deep breath and releasing her concern into the Force. Obi-Wan tried valiantly to follow her lead, but only managed to bring tears to his eyes as everyone inside the room started reciting the creed.

ELECTRIC HEART BEAT

A little altered missing part of what happened after Obi-Wan and his master faced Maul in Naboo. When master Qui-Gon dies the training bond between him and Obi-Wan snaps, leaving the young Jedi struggling and trying to be a responsible adult, while trying to care for a hurt and confused pre-teen who is missing his mother, home and friends and trying to adapt into a very different situation neither of them could have ever imagined. Obi-Wan tries his best, but he's afraid that it will not be enough. Not especially since the cut bond has unwelcome side effects nobody expected to happen.

Obi-Wan Kenobi gets kidnapped during a seemingly safe mission and finds himself in the unenviable position of trying to stay alive and protecting a youngling.

He mostly manages it.

A whump fic in which Obi-Wan suffers, a lot, makes a new friend and learns to live with life-changing results of torture.

He blinked open his eyes for a fuzzy white wall to greet him, his thoughts sluggish in a way they usually weren’t upon waking, trying to understand how he’d gone from a Senator’s apartment to wherever this was. It was the weight around his neck and his wrists that answered his unspoken question with considerable finality. He’d been kidnapped. If he hadn’t been impressed by the audacity, he’d be offended; this had to be at least the fourth time since the war began. Obi-Wan groaned softly as his vision swam before focusing, finding a dirty white wall, a durasteel door and a cam in the upper right corner pointed directly at him. Well, it was certainly atmospheric. As was the thin bedroll he’d been dumped on, lying on his bound hands in no more than his underclothes. His head throbbed as he lifted it from the pillow, pushing himself into a sitting position as best as he could without his hands, shuffling himself back to check the rest of the room. Perhaps ‘room’ was the wrong word; it was barely more than a cell. No windows, a door protected by a glowing red ray shield, a few instruments that were likely to torture, a stained blanket folded in the corner,  next to a bucket to relieve himself in.

And then Anakin looked—truly looked—and saw that he was.

His face had paled to ash, silver tear tracks alighting like the first rain on a planet’s surface after heavy bombardment.

And then he faltered, and years of instinct had Anakin abandoning all his anger and rushing forward to catch him before he could hit the ground.

“Master?” Anakin croaked, hugging him close and trying not to panic.

He remembered once, many years ago, in a class with a Jedi master he couldn’t remember the name of, learning about birds. Their bones were hollow to make them lighter, so they could fly.

Obi Wan felt like that now, hollow boned and light. But Obi Wan, who had no feathers, no wings, just hollow bones, could not fly. He fell instead, to lay limp in Anakin’s arms like a bird’s skeleton long after its body, feathers and all, had been claimed by nature.
