Wulver (Werewolf Type)
A variant of werewolf, the Wulver is found in Scotland, and is a close cousin in design to the Irish Faoladh. Wulvers, like Faoladh, have a much changed form in comparison to the common werewolf, warped by the same rune-tattoos that both used to warp their curse. However where the Faoladh warp the aggressiveness of their lycanthropy into protectiveness and defence, the Wulver warps it to an acceptable violence, using it’s human-like hands to and it’s werewolf speed to hunt and catch rabbits, fish and even boar and deer, which they give to the needy.
Wulvers are most common on the Shetland Islands, where, historically, Scottish werewolves who were caught were often sent before the development of the Wolfsbane Potion. On the most isolated of the Islands they worked together to make the first rune-tattoos, and once they were proven effective all of the Shetlands werewolves did likewise, and began to travel freely, sharing the knowledge of their rune-tattoos with other werewolves. Even now Wulvers are fairly common in Scotland, with many preferring the usefulness of the Wulver form and purpose to the simple freedom of Wolfsbane, though there are some who use both.
