Old Danny Phantom trailer from 2004.
old danny phantom nickelodeon commercials from Apparition Archives on youtube

Every time I stop by Nick they have new Danny Phantom production work out on display because the archivist cycles things out all the time to keep the selection fresh. Got to see the original pencils for a couple of Ben Balistreri's title cards this time 🥰 and a special pose that I immediately recognized was his style.
Alright I think it’s actually legal for me to share some of the production work. I did double check but here’s hoping I don’t get in trouble, haha. The glare from the overhead lights was HORRIBLE so to get clear pictures I had to tilt these massive portfolio books to the side 😭 sorry about the phone shadow it was unavoidable.
While we’re on the production art train I want to share two more pieces Jam Respicio posted on Twitter!!
^ You would be surprised how many productions still use traditional tools! All the backgrounds and title cards on Spongebob are painted traditionally to this day and I saw Legend of Korra keyframes that were pencil and paper. Many artists in the industry who’ve been working since the 90s and 2000s still draw on paper for currently released shows, and then touch it up digitally. And while there are things I miss about a mainly traditional pipeline (such as more concise yet simplified boards) I would say that digital is just another tool. It’s how you utilize it that counts.
Is there Danny phantom cereal?
There is! This was the only image I could get of this one, from the wiki page, and it is from 2004, so unfortunately those little ghost marshmallows are quite stale by now, I assume.
There's a LOT more on this one though, even if Danny and Sam are sidelined for Cap'n Crunch. It even had a commercial!
It looks like Cap'n Crunch still runs this cereal as a Halloween promotional sometimes, though scrubbed of any mention of our ghost boy. Still, if you wanna try it the Halloween crunch looks like it's probably the same!
‘Danny Phantom’ Series Developer Steve Marmel ‘Always Imagined’ Danny Died In Ghost Portal Accident That Gave Him His Powers
All three seasons of 'Danny Phantom' are now streaming on Paramount+.
I'm suprised no one posted this here yet. An interesting interview about what could have been if it was an adult show ( quote from the article):
“If it was an older show, it absolutely would have been Danny hanging on to his mortal coil for both selfish reasons and the people he loved,” Marmel continues. “But [when you’re making a] kids’ show you don't want to go, ‘Hey kids! Good morning! Here’s mortality!’ Butch has his own backstory — it’s in the song! — and that’s canon. But in my head, it allowed me to write Danny with a little more depth than just, 'I'm inexperienced and sometimes dumb!’ No, you’re grabbing life by the horns because you've already experienced what it's like to not be a part of it.”
His molecules got all rearranged!
This interview with the cast and crew of Danny Phantom is a fun read!
Bits that I liked especially;
Why is the Danny phantom popsicle so obscure to find photos of? I wanna see the eyes all disfigured!
Where are they hiding the evidence!?!
I poked around for it but all I could find was the packaging, and people holding the packaging. As well as a digital render of a melty one but that does not count.
I even looked at the brand's website but these seem to be totally out of production.
From memory, I've never seen these on the roster of local icecream trucks, which would explain the lack of them around if they were limited.
From what I can gather I think the icecream trucks that typically have character themed icecream aren't really a part of the brand, because they usually have stuff from 2 brands. Nickelodeon stuff was with The Original Popsicle, and stuff like sonic are with Blue Bunny, for example. Which would explain why they'd go for things on a popularity basis, and Danny Phantom is a bit of a sleeper fandom not showing how popular it actually is if everyone else on tumblr not knowing why Danny tends every year is anything to go by.
If any of you had one of these, seen one of these, or has a photo of one of these, please share! Any details like how accurate it was to the picture, what it's flavor was like, or anything else about them.
Thank you for the addition!
Danny Phantom Kid Cuisine? Anyone?
Ah yes, the ghost nuggies
There are not a lot of pictures of these floating around, thankfully a user on reddit, Rhylem, seems to have posted a very thorough collection!
The theming is a bit all over the place, some of them are on point with ghost shapes and use of green but others look like they didn't do a thing to the standard meals the company makes. One of them even looks identical to a Spongebob one I saw while looking around!
Here's the contest prize on the box, I'd love to get my hands on one of these to take my own pictures but seeing as only 1000 got made that is a pretty high hope. Then again, no one is using video players these days with how much tech outpaced them, so maybe the demand wouldn't be so high.
But we can't leave this off without also sharing this
Danny's voice actor, David Kaufman, has also done a lot of work for commercials, making the Danny Phantom promotional very fitting.

Danny Phantom Pitch Bible, included in the Viacom leak from June 2023
I haven't seen anyone else talk about this yet so I'm going to assume no one has (and if this is the millionth post about this I am so sorry), but apparently there was a leak at Viacom last month, and one of the things that got leaked was the original Danny Phantom pitch bible, and let me tell y'all, there is some interesting lore to be had. I've taken the liberty of summing up a few notable points, but feel free to read for yourself - it's pretty short.
Jack was originally written as an ex-spy, test pilot... basically if it was a daring job, he probably had it. His IQ was supposedly only one point off from Maddie's, and his bumbling was more of a result of him being more "brave than smart."
Maddie was originally written as "one of the world's most respected theoretical physicists" and the brains between her and Jack. Get this: her full name was supposed to be Madison!
Sam and Danny's psychic connection was actually a result of the accident. When he was in the hospital and still very much saturated with ectoplasm, she gave him a "get better" kiss on the forehead, which sparked the connection. The connection would've manifested in a number of ways, including a perpetual ability to "sense" the other, see visions, and hear each other's thoughts, though it was supposed to be somewhat unpredictable.
Jazz hid her brains from her cheerleader friends because she wanted to fit in with them.
Danny was supposed to be the only person able to see, hear, and interact with ghosts.
On the subject of Danny, his reputation for being a scaredy-cat was much more well-known, even to the point where Sam and Tucker gave him the nickname Danny Phantom before he even had his accident. This kid was scared of his own shadow, frogs, you name it.
Overshadowing was originally called "ghosting," and the more intelligent a person, the more difficult it would be to control them.
Jack and Maddie were hoping to break the barrier between the "Real World" (our world) and the "Unreal World" (the ghost world). They wanted to get through to the spirit realm to be able to communicate with the dead in order to help make the world a better place (think picking Einstein's brain a little more, seeing what other music Mozart has cooking, etc.). That dimensional barrier was damaged when they first tried out their experiment, and Danny - who was hiding out from Dash in the lab - would be caught in the middle.
Much like how fans have interpreted things and how the show tried to imply, Danny felt responsible for unleashing the ghosts into our world and decided to adopt the name Sam and Tucker had teased him with to help put a stop to their reign of terror.
Seriously, y'all should read this. There's a lot of interesting info in here, and really it sounds like such a cool concept?? Like I'll probably add my personal thoughts in a reblog, but there's a lot of potential for untapped creativity from the phandom here. Plus it's always nice to see what's technically official content almost 20 years after the show's premiere.
honestly the most cursed part of that is really that they made an ENTIRE EPISODE just because they went 'oh shit we need to retroactively put in a merchable logo'
Okay okay okay
But the most MOST cursed part about that is that they gave Butch literal Millions for advertising and merch and he blew it so bad that Nickelodeon still won't touch the show with a ten foot pole
nickelodeon might have scrubbed all evidence of the atrocious danny phantom WWE style fight birch tree blew all their advertising budget on to promote the premier of TUE off the internet and terminated accounts that reuploaded clips of it,
but i’ll never forget 😤🤙
you can’t erase history so easily on me, nickelodeon
Okay so like? Some Phandom history time from somebody who remembers TUE airing.
It's so well known now but like? Back then? The WHOLE appeal and marketing angle of TUE was that we didn't know who the ultimate enemy was. All that we knew and saw at the time was this huge shadowy figure with glowing red eyes. That's what the entire commercial buildup Fruity is talking about, and what this screencap Lexx added is referring to. All the marketing around this episode was: Who is Danny's ultimate enemy?
Basically, on nick.com, they had a bunch of flashgames for various shows, and they had one to promote TUE. You can find gameplay of it everywhere online, but it was essentially making your own lil monster guy, and you could fight other players or canon characters.
During the leadup of TUE's airing, Pick Boy (if you don't know who this is, it's basically this dude in a superhero costume that used to announce the next cartoons about to air) was essentially coaching a wrestling match between these characters people made with Butch Hartman (they picked characters people made at random and had them dress up to fight in this wrestling ring). You used to be able to find the commercials for it online, but the account that I personally knew about it was terminated, so you can't really find it anymore. You can see some parts of it here in this compilation thing of various wrestling events Nick's hosted before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvIp71
There was like a whole week of this going on, and I honestly can't really remember if anything specifically special happened once the episode aired, but this picture and that commercial is what Fruity is referring to. They also had a gameboy advanced game (which I still have, I have five of them because the only thing my family knew about baby Nick was that he REALLY LOVED Danny Phantom and that this game came out, so like everybody got me that lol) and this was why we got the Burger King toys and the hotwheels car (which I had detailed in another post here if you wanna see them).
I personally remember all this hype online on the nick.com forums and tv.com forums about this, with lots of people guessing about who this mysterious new ghost was. I also specifically remember emailing this girl on nick.com that I was online friends with. Plenty of people have heard me tell this story before, but it's my strongest memory of TUE's airing lol. nick.com's email system was shitty bc you could only write words from their select vocabulary (imagine only being able to write messages using very clean sfw voice suggestion texts) and you could animate them and it was fucking wild
I was inboxing with that girl I mentioned who said "i think danny's ultimate enemy is himself" and the word himself was doing that dvd screen bouncing around the message bc you could animate the words and I told her that she was fucking dumb because that idea was lame and I had to be creative so that I could say specifically say that she was fucking dumb.
Then I watched the episode and was So Mad that she was right and that Danny was his own ultimate enemy that I blocked her. If that was you: I'm sorry lol I was like 11 or something.
This was a promotional short created in 2017 much in the same vein as the previously covered comic. In its efforts to raise veiwership for Bunsen is a Beast the result in the Danny Phantom phandom was instead fear of a reboot looking like it does here with noticable off model characters and extremely light colors. However, these fears have not come to be as of yet.
Noticeably, the comments on the video are currently turned off.
This is a six page promotional comic from 2017 Butch Hartman made for his debunked show Bunsen is a Beast. Initailly it sparked a bit of hope in a few fans that Danny Phantom would get a revival, but as time has gone on it's become clear that it was never going to be sprung from here. While purely speculative, it is likely this promotion aimed to use nostalgia to get fans of these older works to watch Bunsen, but little attention actually passed to the show.
The "Danny Phantom Ghost Zone" was a ride in the Mall of America. Originally made as "Screaming Eagle" 1992 it was later refitted in the 00's to a Danny Phantom theme. It was closed in 2015, though reportedly the character cutouts still remain in storage. It is unkown to me if they still reside there, but it may be possible for a collector to obtain them via a request to the mall.
These are a series of two page comics that followed the longer ones in Nickelodeon Magazine. All three are ecentially a short gag.
This the third and last Danny Phantom comic from Nickelodeon Magazine titled "Seeing Red".
These are the last three pages of the second Danny Phantom comic from Nickelodeon Magazine titled "Bring My Body Back to Me!".
