Hinata has never really had the best confidence throughout highschool and on afterwards. Suddenly acting like he did... Well, it would not be easy at all. He’d heard of affirmations before, and perhaps they helped people, but he’d never considered trying them before. It was hard to place faith in those kinds of things, anyway. Did some people really think things like ‘I’m a person with worth’? It seemed forced to him.

But he knew that Naegi was just trying to help, and he was definitely overthinking this.

「. ✩ *」Once in a while, Hinata rambled when something was bothering him, or when something was persistently on his mind. Normally he was quite reserved with his emotions, but when someone he trusted was around, he could practically tell them anything.

He was quiet until he started thinking about the past, about the Kamukura Project and how 𝔠𝔬𝔩𝔡 everything was. The people, the rooms, the hard, metal tables. Normally they didn’t talk about it together, leaving the past in the past, but once in a while unpleasant memories resurfaced that Hinata knew would haunt them unless he let them go.

Izuru probably noticed that Hinata was getting lost in his memories because he instantly knew how to pull him back. Or maybe it was unintentional; maybe Izuru was just listening silently and intently when he laid his head upon Hinata’s shoulder and stared up at him.

Hinata paused and shut his mouth, smiling down at the fruit of all of Hope’s Peak’s labor.
