We need regulations in place to keep up with AI development and guard against its potential harms. AI could be a net good for society. Or it could be a wrecking ball. Its future is not written in stone. It is written in code and we still have time to shape it.

However, after intense lobbying from MAGA world lawyers, Trump's regime tried to cut a sweetheart deal. But 34 of the 40 states that had joined the federal lawsuit balked at the terms and continued the trial on their own. Today they were victorious. This is a big deal, and a reminder that we still have power at the state and local level.
