Chapter 7 of Killer of My Heart is here folks!
Get ready for some more murder media shenanigans!
Writing radiostatic fanfiction is a whole other level of gay that even I cannot comprehend.
I am writing Vox's POV currently and you would not believe the amount of repressed queerness that is pouring from this man.
They make me laugh.
Vivziepop's sitting on a gold mine with a Murdermedia spinoff series.
The concept of a queer androgynous BIPOC man during the Great Depression in Jim Crow New Orleans managing against all odds to land a job as a radio host and also living a double life as a serial killer who targets his oppressors is just too good.
And then there's his boyfriend, the whitest man who ever lived who's also high on coke 99.9% of the time.
It's been a while since my murder media / radiostatic fic has started, but I thought I'd ought to share it here before the seventh chapter releases!
I will be posting regular updates over here from now on so no one is kept in the dark while waiting!

All of Alastor x Vox ship names (thus far)
Okay, so this is just for fun because I think these two having a million and one ship names is hilarious, so I decided to put them all in one post to 1) have a collective list to refer back to 2) have an actual number of ship names dedicated to these two psychos. Without further ado, here's all the ship names and their dynamics!
Voxal - everything under the sun, EARLY days shipping, standard ship name
Radiostatic - official ship name, also everthing under the sun for them, but also leans more on mutual obsession; whatever their weird rivalry is.
Staticradio - it's just radiostatic but flipped around; still general vibe of whatever the fuck they've got going on.
Radiosilence - One sided pining from Vox, Alastor does not reciprocate.
Onewaybroadcast - technically just radiosilence, but it was made because the Radio Silence book community got really upset we were flooding their tag, so this was an attempt to detach from their tag... it didn't really work (sorry guys, but that's why we don't put a space in radiosilence!)
Staticsilence - Alastor is the one with the unrequited feelings/obsession and Vox doesn't care for Alastor.
Staticlovetune - romantic dynamic, fluff, reciprocated feelings, both of them are in love; wholesome couple vibes.
Freakquency - matching each other's freak, mutual kinky dynamic
Murdermedia - Human Alastor and Human Vox specifically. Basically radiostatic but human au!
Lostmedia - past radiostatic specifically, before their falling out! So vintage Box Vox!
Honorable mention, because I still think its funny:
Radiohead - SPECIFICALLY TV Head Vox x Alastor (though there is a pretty popular musician named Radio Head, so we gotta put Hazbin Radiohead if we want to tag it)
And that's all I've managed to see! Let me know if I've missed any of their ship names! Love these chuckle fucks so much; having almost 11 official ship names is WILD! 🤣
LETS GO LOSTMEDIA MADE IT!!
Not sure if they already have ANOTHER ship name for this, but I think that past Radiostatic should be called Lostmedia.
The thing that makes Radiostatic so appealing and so much better than most ships with Alastor is how the radiostatic fans make an explicit point that Alastor does NOT want to fuck Vox whatsoever. Most of the ships I've seen involve Alastor experiencing sexual attraction because they can't imagine how else he would act in a relationship. Radiostatic not only does it not do that, it shrouds Alastor’s lack of attraction to Vox in a humorous light that makes both of them so much more endearing. It's part of the glory of the ship, it's part of the pizzazz, it's part of the charm in how the ship explores the myriad of ways an asexual can be in a relationship and it just adds this delicious flavor to the pairing.
Vox waited for Alastor. He waited 70+ years to have him once again, to get to question him, to ask him "Why? Why did you leave me? Why is the hotel enough but I am not?" And that adds so much to their relationship in canon.
You could chalk up all the other ships to just mutual sexual attraction, but when you have radiostatic, you can't do that. No man, no matter how big the crush is, waits for someone just because he wants that cookie. There is genuine love, infatuation, obsession, whatever you want to call it, there.
The way their dynamic is written is so good, and it's why so many asexual people, including myself, are hyperfixated on it. Because it gives you so much room to explore yourself! There are so many of us who found out that we are asexual through reading/writing/drawing radiostatic and I think it's so fucking beautiful
Radiostatic is inherently so much deeper than other ships. Other ships often have the two meeting at a point in time in the show, often have that mutual sexual attraction because-- "why else would they like each other??"
But Radiostatic inherently cannot be that. It cannot have the sexual attraction aspect because Alastor and Vox as they are is what the ship is built around. Vox waited 70+ years for Alastor, and Alastor allows Vox's obsession with him.
This ship is beautiful and fun. Two idiots who are obsessed with one another and cannot be changed.
People can enjoy a ship that you do not enjoy. You cannot dictate what people like.
I know a lot of you need to hear this, and I cannot sit by any longer. I have seen far too many people hating on ships no matter the reason and thinking it wrong for someone else to enjoy it. Please, I know this is hard as none of us touch grass, but get a life.
You cannot dictate what other people like. This applies to ships, and to asexual representation, as we've had a lot of discourse with that too.
I'll repeat it. YOU CANNOT DICTATE WHAT PEOPLE LIKE.
There's something so bittersweet in knowing how much the Vees love each other, but Vox would have been happier with Alastor
The problem with the treatment of asexual characters/acespec representation discourse is either that no one cares that they're being sexualized & mistreated OR half the internet is screaming about it and it's just. An asexual existing in proximity to sex. And most of these people are allo.
The amount of Human AU Radiostatic murder husbands that's about to explode is delicious
My writer heart is exploding and thrashing these two around like a hungry beast
babes, we're forgetting something.
the flashback wasn't the radiostatic break-up, it was the beginning of it. Quote: "oh, the tantrum you threw after that!" After. That. Alastor was still very much in contact with him.
Alastor beat him in a fight.
We're yet to wittness them even CLOSE to actually arguing. There is still a LOT and so MUCH untold, I am losing my mind
The fact that Vox is striving to be the most successful, powerful, ambitious and competent Overlord in all of Pride to impress Alastor, but not realising that Alastor, who has trouble with trusting people and feels like Vox used him to advance, would be most impressed by Vox choosing his friends and family over anything else. They are doomed your honor.
The doomed yaoi is SO doomed rn 😔
"Alastor fumbled" Alastor dodged a BULLET
The fact that people hate Alastor now and side with Vox just because of the flashback... Excuse me ? Vox is a 100% antagonist in Hazbin Hotel ? He's way worse than Alastor ? Yes, it's sad that Alastor rejected Vox's offer like that, but how can you then side with Vox and start hating Alastor ? I'm not kidding. People who used to like Alastor now hate him and side with Vox. It's insane. I really like Vox as an antagonist, but you can't overdo it either.
THIS!!
I have seen so many people treat Vox as "he's just a baby he's so cute 🥺🥺🥺" in both this space and IRL because of the flashback. They act as though nothing he does is wrong or that he is entirely justified in what he has done.
NO! Vox is an antagonist. He is a bad person who does bad things. I think we are actually brushing aside the fact that he is a man that can, and has in both life and death, manipulated the masses. When he was Vincent, he was still a bad person. He was in Hell!
These people are falling for it. They are falling for his lies just like the people in the show do. And THAT is an effective antagonist if I ever saw one.
Let's please not over-woobify (is that the word?) Vox just because he got rejected in a shitty way.
minor spoiler for the song vox populi
Vox literally says "make Hell great again." Word for word.
And the sinners in the background say "one nation under Vee." Like the FUCKING AMERICAN PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
i know what you're doing Sam Haft...
Literally WHERE have we heard "Make ____ great again"‼️⁉️
