The Wait (Chan x Reader)
Your eyes flutter shut while your mind distinguishes the rough edges of the bark you’re currently against. The golden hour of the day casts a gentle light over your features, you can feel it behind your closed lids; the soft rays bouncing off your face.
Your thumb rubs against your forefinger as your relish the cool breeze wafting through your hair and the scent of your cherry blossom shampoo hits you. Mmmhmm, to be like this forever, your lips tug upwards in thought and your hands nestle comfortably in your lap. Birds chirp nearby and you nuzzle your head further against the wooden surface. A shadow? You wonder as the soft rays of the sun caressing your eye lids damper and rustling reaches your ears.
A pair of lips land on your forehead which make your eyes snap open, followed by a deep inhale of surprise. “Shh, it’s me” a familiar voice reaches your ears, calming the banging against your rib cage and the arms you woke up in this morning wrap around your frame. “Found you” Chan smiles down at you, his dimple flashing while his brown hues shine as bright as ever. You blink up at him, not expecting him to have completed his work so soon. Nevertheless, it was a win for you, you ponder as warmth fills inside your heart, spreading out like wildfire, making you feel cozy, more serene and most of all, at peace.
“Could have warned me” you sigh, relaxing in his embrace and allow your head to nestle against his chest.
“Now what fun would that be baby girl?”, a deep chuckle rumbles, prompting a smile from you.
