Yes, I am currently writing original stories. Four of them, actually, because my brain absolutely refuses to finish one thing before moving onto another.

And as for posting them… honestly, I’m still indecisive. None of them are finished yet, and I’m a chronic procrastinator (unfortunately), so progress is occurring a bit slower than I like. Especially since they’re all different genres and I’m experimenting with different writing styles. I'd definitely like to share them eventually, but at the moment they're all in various stages of being developed and I’m not sure when (if) they’ll be ready. That being said, maybe I’ll post one or two on AO3 and update them as I write more chapters? I’m not sure though.

The titles, if anyone’s curious:

I’ve got a decent amount written for Before The Heart Stops but the story is all over the place and I might need to polish it up a little if I ever post it. The Enemy’s Name is probably the most difficult to write because of all the unnecessary world building and unique character names, but I still enjoy it. As for the other two… they don’t have much written down but I’ve planned out at least half of them.

Anyways, I’m really sorry for the ramble and extra information 😭 I just got a little carried away because I love talking about my stories lol. But seriously, thank you so much again—it really means a lot that you enjoy my fanfics and would love to read my original work <3

“Writing is so fun,” I say, as I:

Rewrite the same sentence six times.

Cut a line I loved for "flow" and immediately wish I found a way to make it fit instead.

Sit motionless for twelve minutes trying to decide whether I should use commas or em-dashes for one particular phrase.

Get distracted imagining a scene four chapters ahead that has nothing to do with the current plot.

Change one word and feel like I just altered the fate of humanity.

Re-read my own dialogue and debate whether it’s good or if it will make people give up on the fanfic instead.

Delete an entire paragraph because it didn’t feel right.

Spend twenty minutes choosing between “said,” “asked,” “murmured,” or “whispered,” as if it will alter the timeline.

Get emotionally attached to a metaphor no one else will even notice.

Write one (1) good line and convince myself I deserve a national award.

Leave a comment for myself in the draft like: “Fix This Crap” and then never fix it.

Realize I cannot explain how time works. Was that scene three minutes or three hours? Unclear.

Pause mid-sentence to stare at the wall and question my life choices.

Get so overwhelmed I close the page and proceed to feel guilty about it for three days.

Threaten to delete everything and start over. Again. For the seventh time this week.

Post it anyway. Obsessively check stats like my life depends on it.

It’s okay if I don’t have time to write. It’s okay if a chapter is delayed. It’s okay if my words come out messy. It’s okay if I need to take a break. It’s okay if I don’t update every week, every month, or even every year.

My value as a writer is not measured by how fast I post. My worth is not defined by kudos, bookmarks, or comments.

I am allowed to be slow. I am allowed to rest. I am allowed to write for joy, not for an algorithm.

And if anyone thinks otherwise, they can wait.

Basic Fandom Etiquette Everyone Needs to Remember:

Creators do not owe anyone content. Do not ask writers when they will update.

If an author did not ask for [negative] criticism , do not give criticism.

Read the tags carefully before reading a fanfic.

If you ignored the tags and were upset, that is your responsibility, not the creator’s.

Disliking a ship does NOT give you the right to attack people who enjoy it.

Do not tell authors or shippers that their ship is “disgusting,” “wrong,” or “shouldn’t exist.” Shipping fictional characters is not a moral failing.

No one is obligated to justify why they ship two fictional characters.

Headcanons are PERSONAL interpretations, not universal truth.

Dark themes in fiction do not equal real life beliefs or intentions.

Leaving kudos or short positive comments genuinely matters.

Not every fanwork is made for you, and that is okay.

Scrolling past content you dislike is better than engaging negatively

Enjoying a fandom later than others does not make someone less of a fan.

Disliking a fanfic does not entitle you to announce that to its creator. Sending hate comments to authors is NEVER justified, even if you disliked the work.
