”Perfect is very boring, and if you happen to have a different look, that’s a celebration of human nature, I think. If we were all symmetrical and perfect, life would be very dull.”

Wearing revealing clothing is not ‘asking for it’, and doesn’t justify rape. However, if you’re going to wear something that shows off a lot of your body, you’re giving off the impression you’re confident about your body, and aren’t afraid of people looking at it, which is going to make you appear more approachable by guys in the club or whatever - a lot of the time with good, innocent intentions. The attention is to be expected if you’re showing yourself off. This still doesn’t excuse rape in any way, but I think the point a lot of people miss in the clothing not asking for it debate is that it doesn’t invite rape itself, but it does tend to invite more attention, particularly from the opposite sex.
The same goes for when girls wear tops that show or even enhance their cleavage. There’s nothing wrong with it of course, wear what you like, but if you have something on that enhances your breasts you can’t then take offence when people’s eyes are drawn there. This is also true for short dresses/skirts/shorts than show off a lot of your legs - people’s eyes are inevitably going to be drawn there. This doesn’t mean they suddenly have the urge to rape you.
A few people have been getting up in arms against the suggestion that girls keep themselves safe and at less risk, on the basis that they’re never to blame if someone rapes them. Once again, we all know the victim is never to blame. And that people should be tought not to rape under any circumstances. But this isn’t something that’s just going to happen overnight, and the fact we’re all talking about it so much shows we’re all aware it’s still an issue. So therefore it makes good sense to make some form of effort to keep yourself and anyone else away from risk until the day finally comes when it’s not an issue.
That man you see there, he is a 92 year old veteran from Norway, who was tortured by the nazis during world war II. The upper picture is the picture of the “BOY London” logo, that’s so popular now days. Then, on the picture under, is a known symbol that were used under by the nazis in World War II. Now you can all think of what you’re really wearing.
finally someone made a post about it, everyone’s running around with the Third Reich Eagle on their chests
think about it
yes make it known. nobody ever talks about it.
don’t sit in your pajamas and reblog posts about how you wish you could be pretty and confident, just do it. Get up early so you can do your hair and makeup all nice for school, flirt with the boys and let them come to you, say “thank you” instead of “no i’m not” when someone calls you pretty, fake that fucking confidence until it’s real, do you understand me? Now go own that red lipstick.
TAKE THIS ADVICE GUYS ITS THE BEST THING YOU COULD EVER DO FOR YOUR SELF CONFIDENCE

I wonder how many couples will dance to ”their song”. In the hallways, I see the girls wearing the guys’ jackets, and I think about the idea of property. And I wonder if anyone is really happy

I feel really sad.
I watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower four times in the past two weeks, and last night I watched it with the social commentary. I don’t know why I am so obsessed with this movie. I read the book when I was in high school, and for some reason, I did not catch the obsession..
