Well howdy! It’s been a while, huh? Tumblr kind of fizzled out for me since my last post, as did my motivation to draw. But! I haven’t stopped drawing, at least not altogether. I may not draw Trixies with any regularity anymore, but I will probably still draw her in the future, along with whatever else I occasionally decide to draw. So a few things: I won’t be updating this blog anymore, unless every other platform that currently exists becomes unusable. But I’m still alive! And I’ll be posting anything I draw in the future, including Trixies, to https://twitter.com/solarfm_art I’m blown away that I have almost a thousand followers on Tumblr, and I’m sure a small minority of you are even still on the platform, but for any of you reading this that would be interested in seeing my work from here on, I’d be happy to see you over on Twitter~ You’re all wonderful. Trixie #153, positively glowing. It’s a new year, and she’s ready for it!

A simple, happy headshot to start off the year, and the new URL. I haven’t been a daily blog in close to a year, so I’ve changed the blog name to better suit my content. Maybe someday I’ll return to dailies, but this will do for now.

This one was just a warm-up. More and ever-better Trixies to come~

Hey!

If it wasn't already evident, I'm on hiatus. I've got too much going on to get back to drawing at a reasonable clip, and when I do draw, it's working on things that aren't Trixie-related.

My heart belongs only to Trixie, though, so I won't be gone forever. I can't pry myself away from drawing her for too long. I should be back around the new year, or sooner. Until then, enjoy the countless other wonderful artists this fandom has to offer! My Trixies will grace your dashboard again in the future.

I tried something a little different here. It’s nice (and probably healthy) to try and draw real objects with actual shading for once. This is, after all, the only way I end up getting any drawing practice in.

Hey, I’m alive! That’s pretty neato. I’m hoping to migrate to Krita soon, from SAI, for a more full-featured and less buggy experience. I am very ingrained in SAI though, so we’ll see how that goes.

Still not dead! Sorry for the Trixie drought. I have a poor history of not really coming back from breaks when I say I will, so for now I’ll just say you can expect more Trixies...soon. Whenever soon is.

For this Trixie, I only decided to put in the tinted lighting and face/mane light at the very last minute. I think it really made the image, so I’m glad I did.

Trixie #145, refusing to let on. Trixie is a Very Good Magician™ with Well-Kept Secrets™ after all. Her tricks of the trade are all very top-notch and known only to a select few.

I tried doing black outlines here meshed with the rest of my usual style, not sure how well it turned out. I’m thinking the lines could afford to be a bit thinner, and maybe the streaks in Trixie’s mane would do better with outlines.

Trixie #144, touching on an important issue. The rumour come out.

Starlight is my #1 ship for Trixie, hands down, but I appreciate many Trixie ships, including the less orthodox ones like Maud and Blueblood. This blog will probably solely deal in StarTrix, though.

Testing out some new techniques here for minor elements that you probably won’t notice. Also, if I go on one more long unannounced break for no reason, I’m changing the blog name to “Occasional Trixie” or something. These hiatuses are getting ridiculous.

Turns out I hit 500 followers during that month-ish I was on break. Who knew? Not me. Anyway, thanks for being here! I’m glad that all of you enjoy my work, and I guarantee this is still just the beginning. As thanks for your casual patronage, have this unsettling image of Trixie cut from marble.

Trixie #142, reminding all of us of something we might forget every once in a while. It’s important to keep your priorities in mind at all times!

Those of you that have been here a while know that I never truly die. I just take long, unannounced breaks contrary to my stated plans. Will I be returning to the daily format now? I sure hope so, because I need to practice drawing eye shapes that don’t look terribly awkward.

Trixie #141, packing heat. Put the peanut butter crackers in the bag, and don’t make any sudden moves.

Another anon request. Hats are a bother to get perspective worked out for. For some reason the shape of Trixie’s flank and left hind leg turned out absolutely perfectly, and I can’t stop staring at it. I’ll forever be trying to emulate such beauty.

My sleep schedule is a bit borked, so expect some sporadic post times. I will endeavour to average one per day.

Requested by anon. I’ve never actually seen KonoSuba or even heard of it before this, but from what little I have learned Megumin is probably the best character.

I took a little break for no good reason, but I’m back now. Should be clear sailing. That’s the plan, at least.

I’m normally stalwart in my support for Startrix, but this adorable couple has an unfortunate deficit of art. Is Trixie standing on something, or is Big Mac kneeling? We’ll never know.
