My home is the ocean

Part of her wanted to follow the girl, but she knew there was no way Riptide could go into a cave and wander the tunnels with her. Still, the double-headed dragon could handle himself.

"I’ll follow you, make sure nothing happens. There may be dangerous dragons in the caves." she added.

Xela conginuted walking to her camp, it wasn’t that far into the cave she quickly packed up and was able to fit it all in her bag.

Eirian watched her, waiting for her to finish. Once she had, she began to walk deeper into the cave. "Let's get moving." she said.

"I didn’t even know that was possible…." she murmured, her voice trailing off. Riptide turned one of his heads, eyeing the contraption curiously.

"I bet Hiccup would love to see this. And Gobber." she mused to herself. "How did you lose your arm?"

Gummy lowered his head in shame. "When this one was a babe he bit me on accident and injected his venom into me." she explained, "The venom took my arm, my tribe had another dragon bite it off and used its flame to cauterize the wound."

Her eyes widened and she stared at Gummy. "That's terrible." she said. She couldn't imagine Riptide doing something like that. If he had, she might never have forgiven him or trusted dragons again.

"I don't know if I could trust a dragon after something like that." she admitted.

"Are you sure?" asked Eirian. She gave the girl a suspicious look, her eyes narrowing. Something seemed off. Behind her, Riptide poked his heads from the water slightly, sensing her unease.

"Yea.." Xela smiled, "if you wanna be sure then you can follow me," she shrugged at the other, "it’s not like it really matters, as long as eventually I get to the village.."

Eirian watched her, then ran a few steps to catch up. “You sure you know where you’re going?” The girl obviously didn’t know where she was going, or at least it looked that way to Eirian. “I don’t think the cave can take you there.”

"Oh? No.. i just have to grab my supplies from camp.." she lied, "but I’ll be fine.." luckily she did actually have a camp set up just in case.

"Are you sure?" asked Eirian. She gave the girl a suspicious look, her eyes narrowing. Something seemed off. Behind her, Riptide poked his heads from the water slightly, sensing her unease.

"It’s just that I’ve never seen anything like it before. A few vikings on my home have lost limbs, but they don’t have functioning body parts…" She urged Riptide closer, peering at her arm. "That’s amazing. How does it work?"

Pixie lifted her arm showing a small space where wired and gears could be seen, “It’s wired into my nervous system. It functions like a real arm. But, not many people like it because it’s painful to attach. I was in pain for days.”

"I’ve never heard of them before." Eirian said. She didn’t know the names of all the dragons, but she had never heard the name ‘Uktena’. However, her attention was drawn once again to the girl’s arm. She had seen it from afar, but now that she was closer she could see that it was made entirely of metal. It was almost disturbing.

"So what brings you out here?" she asked, still eyeing her arm.

"Just traveling." she said noting the others gaze was on her arm, "As we’ve always done looking for new lands, beasts and technology." she motioned to her arm, "Want to take a look I don’t bite."

"Interesting…" she murmured.I used to travel when I was younger. I don’t go too far now that I live on Berk." she said.

Xela nodded slightly after a short pause, “I guess I should probably head over to Berk now… maybe I’ll see you over there..” she was hoping the other girl would leave so she could head back into the labyrinth safely and try to find an exit on the other island.

Eirian watched her, then ran a few steps to catch up. "You sure you know where you're going?" The girl obviously didn't know where she was going, or at least it looked that way to Eirian. "I don't think the cave can take you there."

Eirian had been following the strange rider and dragon for some time before the girl had spoken. “I wasn’t really hiding.” She paused watching the rider. “I’ve never seen a dragon like yours before. What is it?” As she spoke, Riptide gave a curious roar in greeting to the other dragon.

"He’s an Uktena." she said as Gummy lowered his head down tongue flicking in and out as he smelt the other two. Pixie petted his jewel, “He’s a dragon from my homeland.”

"Oh okay. We do that on Berk too sometimes. The protection part, not bodyguarding." she added. "Do you guys do any sports for fun? Or activities?" she asked. As she spoke, she thought about dragon racing. She’d only entered a few races, mostly the competitions of speed.

"Races and tournaments are always fun, and camping," Xela paused and shrugged, "stuff like that, the best perk of living in my tribe is the traveling."

"That sounds nice. Berk is really pretty most of the year, although winters can be rough." Or they used to be. Winters had gotten easier since they learned to befriend dragons, but she would rather not tell a stranger that Berk was a land of dragon tamers. “What… what do you do at the training school?” she asked, wondering if they trained dragons.

Xela thought for a moment, “Well.. we learn how to protect ourselves in day to day life, some of us chose to stay in the school to get into the body guarding buisness..”

Xela nodded, Stoic must be the chief… she thought to herself, “It lies between a large forest mountains and a bay,” she smiled softly, “So we have plenty of resorces, more then we can handle actually. Other then that we have a good training school, library, stuff like that.”

"Oh thats good… You should probably visit Berk then and speak to Stoic when you get a chance. What tribe are you from? Maybe I know the name." She still kept her distance, although the young woman didn’t seem to pose an immediate threat.

Xela nodded, “which island is Berk?” she asked after a moment. The halfling girl panicked slightly, “uh, my tribe it a bit too far south for anyone up here to know, but it’s the Particus Adventurers..” she laughed softly, it was her school name, she didn’t have a tribe, village but not a tribe.

Xela nodded, “Yea..” she shrugged, “my tribe sent me to explore to see if anyone inhabited these islands…” she laughed softly, “and hopefully see if we could make alliances..” or something like that..

"You’re on one of the islands outside Berk. Called….um…I don’t remember what Hiccup named it actually." she said after a pause. She couldn’t help but wonder how anyone could get that turned around. Maybe the caves around Berk were larger than she thought. "I don’t remember seeing you around. What’s your name?"

Berk.. “oh I only recently got here haven’t had the chance to talk with anyone..” she lied smoothly, “My name is.. Xela, who are you?” she asked smiling at her.

Eirian had been gliding over an island not far from Berk, when her dragon suddenly jerked its heads, pulling her downwards. Below she could see a lone figure emerging from what appeared to be a cave. Curious and a little suspicious, she got close and dismounted into the water and swam to shore. Riptide watched from the water, ready to lea out if necessary.

Xela looks over at the woman nearby, “Hey!” she yelled at her smiling. hmm did she come out of the sea? Xela thought to herself, “Could you help me?”

As Eirian got closer, she saw the young woman looked a little strange compared to the people of Berk. The strangest thing was perhaps her eyes, one was red and one was blue. Still, she was never one to turn down someone who needed help.

"What do you need?" she asked, keeping her distance just in case.

Xela wandered, much like she normally does, smiling softly she wondered if she would meet someone interesting, or something interesting. Having just exited a labyrinth she was honestly very tired. “Where the hell am i?” she asked softly.
