Colton was not amused and he was also quite drained for the day or for a month. It crossed his mind again why he was even going through with this. He was holding his cat, seemingly just cuddling with him. It was more for stress relief. It unsettled him lying to her mom in the first place and the full effect of how much it took to do the lie was not mixing with him well. Once the door had been shut he halfheartedly looked over at Yeri.
“Yay.” He deadpanned. “This is still a shit idea.” Colton was being extra crabby, “When I end up having to go see a therapist because of this, I’m making you pay for it.” He added.
“Yeah, well, I don’t really need a thanks from you. I’m doing it for her.” Setting Whiskerton down, he went to the kitchen. He felt like he needed ice cream and a movie. Opening the freezer and grabbing the cookie dough ice cream, he grabbed a spoon and hopped up onto the counter. Letting out a huff, he took a big spoonful to shove in his mouth. Fucking break ups.
She rolled her eyes at him, mouthing the word ‘blah’ repeatedly. Pouting is what she called this and even if she’d be doing the same (if not worse) in his shoes it made her eyes narrow. Colton’s icecream was tempting, though she refused to ask for some. She instead opened the fridge, leaning heavily on the door as she peered inside, unsure if she was even really hungry.
“Yeah, yeah and my mum thanks you for it.” She said with a flick of her wrist. Deciding on a drink instead she pulled out the milk for a hot chocolate. Moving easily around the kitchen to get what she needed. Having something to do rather than have an awkward conversation with her ex. “And its a perfectly fine idea, you’re just being sulky. Baby.”
“Will gifts make up for this? I know she brought stuff for both of us with her.” Yeri raised her brows hoping it would entice him. They seemed to be in opposite spirits tonight, even if she had to lie, having her mother here lessened her sarcasm, bitterness and general overall bluntness. “After she leaves I’ll tell her we ended it. I’ll make up a story or something. Maybe I could tell her you loved the cat more than me --it’d be believable.”
