if you’re offline or away and i message you something (like a link to a meme or a picture or w/e) honestly just assume that i’m just leaving it there for when you get back and not expecting you to answer straight away. i don’t need you to respond with “hey, sorry, i wasn’t at the computer!” or anything. i was leaving u a gift for later.

This also applies if you’re online and just don’t want to or have the energy to deal with humans in the moment. Just because we have the ability to reply in real time does not mean we have the obligation.

That's why I seek advice from others, as much as I can. “I think I'm in this situation, what should I do?” or I ask like “I guess I am going through this”. I don't know. You'll go through it eventually.

Thinking about how u can have realizations in any moment of your life no matter what mundane thing it is you’re doing. Realizing things about your childhood, your dynamic with those around you, your growth or lack thereof, etc. What you can realize is endless and sometimes there’s not even a process to that realization. One day you’re just walking your dog in the June summer and then you realize why a certain event in your life happened the way it did. Kinda strange, very sudden, often bittersweet.

Can we please stop associating being a good person with how much you're willing to suffer in silence for other people? You can be a kind person and still say "no, I don't have the time/energy to help you with that." You can be a kind person and still say "this makes me uncomfortable, please stop." You can be a kind person and still say "I disagree and here's why." You can be kind and still say "I'm not okay with this." Being kind is about treating people with kindness and respect, not about being the human equivalent of a doormat!
