♡ – she had yet to enter the building but already there was this feeling of relaxation running down her neck and her back and for a short moment she questioned why she had come here in the first place. maybe the back pain she had thought she experienced wasn’t even that bad ? oh well, even if it wasn’t eva wouldn’t walk in just to tell the receptionist that she didn’t want the massage anymore. if it was up to her, the masseuse was allowed to press and rub all the sore spots, bend her body like a pretzel and make each knuckle crack. if it meant she’d walk lighter again ? eva would take it.

and really, the relaxation therapy did give her just what she needed.

still riding high on the release the massage had given her, the blond found herself outside of pure tranquility. the cigarette in her fingers probably wasn’t the best way to congratulate herself on the perfect me-time however, her lungs had been screaming for it for a while now. unfortunately, her lighter had other plans and didn’t provide the flame needed. ❛ excuse me ? ❜ blue hues were directed at a person standing not too far away from the entrance either. ❛ any chance you got fire ? ❜ a wide white smile was offered.

` odette had probably worn a path outside the storefront with he amount of times she’s stepped towards the door and back again . her phone was burning a hole in her pocket , the email sitting in her inbox calling out to her: BECOME A WHOLE NEW YOU ! MEDITATION CLASSES NOW OPEN ! when the email showed up , the little number going up to another hundred ( so many unread , sitting at 500 now ) , she burst into tears . a new her . someone else . what she wouldn’t give for that. she wasn’t usually one for spirituality , she had always accepted that she was who she was and there was nothing to do to change it but now... after everything...

she misses the stage , the actions of becoming someone else , embodying their heart and soul and making people feel . if only she could feel something now .

❝ ah a lighter ? probably yeah . one sec . ❞ she pats the pockets of her coats , they crunch with old receipts and candy wrappers , it takes her a moment but she finally produces one . ❝ here . you can keep it too . ❞

as much as ronan enjoyed living in the city , it was unyielding : constant movement , a hive of civilians at every corner , a complete absence of silence . the phrase ‘ the city doesn’t sleep ’ never felt more apt , and , on some particularly hectic days , ronan found himself longing for a few moments of solitude . he found the beach to be especially therapeutic , the waves cresting , silk - like , upon the rocks , lulling him into a state of absolute seclusion .

as he crossed the sand to reach his usual location ( a raised crevice overlooking the water , invisible behind a stack of trees ) , his anticipation shifted into something akin to bewilderment . ❝ oh —— well , this is awkward . ❞ he spoke , flustered smile playing at his lips . upon noticing somebody else sitting in his place , he stopped , dawdling idly as he ran a graceless hand through his hair . ❝ i thought i was the only person who knew about this spot . ❞

` there were times when odette’s thoughts get too much ; so loud within the confines of her already aching skull , voices she didn’t know existed whispering of peace ( finally ) against the sadness that crippled her daily . most times she would just pull the covers up further , or turn on the tv , overload her senses so that nothing coherent could get through but her mother had other plans . they fought , almost daily , to the point of tears on both ends ( both out of sadness and frustration ) and she just needed to leave , the house was too small and too big at the same down , she was drowning and suffocating . the beach was a place of solace , it had gone unchanged in her years away , one of the only places . another voice interrupted her thoughts , an unfamiliar one . ❝ that’s funny , i thought the same . ❞ she pulled her sweater’s hood a bit tighter around her face . ❝ kind of stupid though . ❞
