Unboxing NYC

Invitation to participate in the design of a new building in New York City, a square corner lot between 53rd & Ninth Streets. The design engages with the surrounding facades, creating a lobby space and allowing the building to rise while adhering to current New York City building codes. After several proposals from various firms, we were selected as finalists. This is a studio image; the intention and idea of ​​the design must always be convinced of your progress or changes, as every idea evolves.

An important element is the light inside its hollow interior, which is made up of a 'lamp' that creates an atmosphere at night to enhance, camouflage and scale the forest; in the end, these are theories about how the result will actually be - Rizomes festival

The exhibition “Concéntrico: Urban Innovation Laboratory” is on view at the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago until January 12, as part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.

Curated by @ikergil and organized by MAS Context and the @instituto_cervantes_de_chicago in collaboration with @concentricofestival, the exhibition revisits the first decade of Concéntrico in Logroño, Spain, bringing together more than 150 projects developed since 2015.

Conceived as an urban innovation laboratory, it explores how architecture and design activate public space and foster dialogue between designers, citizens, and cities.
