for the first time in almost a year and a half, elise found herself walking home with shorts pulled over a shiny white leotard. usually, she’d pull a jacket on, but it was just too hot. she looked down at her phone as she was walking, yelping as her foot caught on the pavement and she tumbled into the person walking towards her. her face was red as she spoke, “fuck, i am so sorry.”
aaron almost didn’t notice the other girl had bumped into him since he was distracted from the music playing on his iphone. he stumbled backwards slightly when she fell into him and he stared at her with wide eyes — since it was completely unexpected. “oh — that’s okay. it caught me off guard. are you alright?” he asked, extending a hand out to her.
“how bad idea it is to get a dog?” abrupt questions were indeed emilio’s forte. “i mean, there are eight of us in the house. i worry that the dog would be too much? but then again sophia has been begging for a puppy for years…” he looked conflicted, smiling a bit self-consciously. “the easiest decisions are always hardest to me. do you want to give your opinion? it’s definitely needed.”
“well — if you’re able to put in the time and responsibility for taking care of a dog, then you should get one. they’re great to have around. everyone loves dogs.” aaron explained as he smiled slightly. “some breeds are probably easier to handle than others, if you’re worried about it being too much.”

aaron is eighteen years old and is a high school senior.
He was born in los angeles, california to two teen parents who were neglectful and abusive towards him. he was taken away from them when he was seven years old and placed into foster care. he was adopted into the Shaw family when he was eight years old. It took him a long time to settle into his new home due to the abuse and suffered from nightmares from it.
He has been playing soccer since he was adopted into the Shaw family and he plays for the high school team. He hopes he can get a full-ride soccer scholarship from it.
aaron is not good with change and he’s had a hard time adjusting to living with the spier family. he wasn’t happy with the marriage and he tries to spend as much time away from his new house or hiding himself in his room.
he’s also a shy and anxious person and doesn’t talk much around people he’s not comfortable with.
he has a small group of friends but he’s pretty much an outsider at school. he spends too much time playing soccer or studying and would rather stay home than go out and party. he often feels very lonely.
he’s kind of like a perfectionist and often pushes himself too hard with soccer training or by studying too much to get high grades. he feels lost in his new, big family and he tries hard to stand out among the others.
his secret is that he has insomnia due to his past, his anxiety, and from trying to adjust to his new, blended family. he has been hiding it for a few months and is taking pills to help him sleep. he’s been more tired and closed off than normal because of it.
basically he’s basically a big softie who loves sports, art, music, and animals. he’s friendly towards everyone he meets and basically loves everything, even though he’s very shy and closed off.
