i-am-alex-karev: the only family i need
alex was on a mission. he’d made up his mind. jo was going to give him a big old speech but she didn’t have to. all he had ever wanted was someone who loved him to settle down with. it was jo. jo was his happy ending. he knew it. she knew it. the freakin’ universe seemed to know it. even IF the loft was a piece of crap they could work on it. every house needs work, requires effort, the same as any relationship. he stood now in the doorway watching jo trying so hard to find the words to say to convince him. a last attempt at persuading him… he only just smiled. what a dork she was, reciting all of the possible rebuttals. after a few minutes of just watching her, alex smirked when jo whipped around. "—–long enough.“
stupid, dumb alex. after the way he had not given her an answer, she was already expecting the worst. but it was he who said he had roots here, and this was the most she’d ever put herself out there. for him or anyone, this was completely new and terrifying territory for jo wilson.
before alex came along, the most consistent thing in jo’s life was the car she lived in car. it was the one thing she knew she could rely on, but now she had alex and she was willing to put down her own roots in her own home with him and he’d just left her hanging for an entire night. it was freaking her out which was why jo was rehearsing a stupid speech to convince him if need be in the resident’s lounge. one she’d given to him without even knowing it.
