“They are. We want to leave a bright future for the next generation. I know that I want the best for both my children and my grandchildren.” Thor says with a nod of his head. He knows that there will always be hardship along the way — but hopefully there’s peace somewhere in there too. “Is that right? Tell me more about this team. I bet you do great things. “ exactly - i hope my future children have a bright future too. “ teddy smiled as he nodded back at thor, his hands nervously finding their way into the pockets of his jeans before gazing over the park to make sure samantha was still alright, she was. “ i don’t know if you’ve heard of us.. we’re actually, kinda, technically, affiliated with you guys, the avengers i mean - we’re called the young avengers.. oh thank you, mr. thor!” the blonde rambled out.

This was adorable — he just wanted to admit that much. Thor notices the blush on the boy’s face, but he doesn’t comment on it because he feels that might just make him turn more red. “You are quite welcome the world needs more of those. It does make all the difference.” Thor admits with a nod, but chuckles softly at the next comment. The kid has a point there. “Perhaps I am a little. I try not to let it get to my head, but I don’t mind taking pictures. It is a pleasure to meet you, Teddy.”

Thor wasn’t aware of how much the boy admired him, but he does see a little bit of fondness forming in his eye. He watches the little girl run off toward the playground, and then turns his gaze fully on him. “Teacher, huh? She seems happy around you so I’d say that you’re a good one.” He hasn’t been a kid for over four thousand years, but he does remember his teachings. “What is your name? They call me Thor, among other titles that don’t matter right now.”

teddy was trying to memorize this experience while at the same time watching over samantha so his brain was getting a little frazzled, he wouldn’t be surprised to see a little trail of smoke coming out of his ears. he had to remember this completely because he definitely wasn’t going to shut up about it for at least a week. “ thank-thank you so much ! i hope i am a good teacher. “ a deep shade of crimson quickly rose to the surface of the blondes cheeks, his heart racing in his chest. “ oh i know ! - i mean, you’re kind of infamous. “ he quickly replied. “ she calls me mr. altman but you can call me teddy. “

Thor raises an eyebrow as he watches the sight. He approaches with his arms crossed over his chest, and long blonde hair trailing behind him with the wind. “I was not even considering that. She your daughter?” He asks since he doesn’t know any better otherwise. He relaxes his shoulders as he looks at the pair.

thor. it was thor. oh god it was thor. admittedly, teddy had a boy-hood crush that definitely still lingered on the large blonde avenger. he took in a deep breath, this wasn’t the first avenger he’d ever met, especially being a young avenger so he had some practice not turning into a fanboy idiot. “ -huh? “ teddy took a second to snap out of the disbelief before shaking his head and setting samatha down so she could run to the small playground that was in the park. he pivoted his boy so he could watch her as he replied to thor. fuck, it’s thor. “ - she’s my student, i’m a teacher. “ teddy replied as he couldn’t help but dorkily smile, partly because of the sight of samatha care-free on the playground and also because thor was standing right next to him. billy was never going to believe this.

Theo, with no ill-intent whatsoever, had been watching the grown man play tag with the kids for a while, wishing above anything that he could engage in the light-hearted frivolity and be young and have few cares. Watching them play, though, made him feel youthful by extension. He was about to sit on the grass when he was addressed loudly, and the suddenness of it made Theo’s muscles tense in surprise, as he was always rather squirrelly and ready to run for his life at the drop of a hat these days. “I- me, I didn’t think that,” he called back, glancing over his shoulder to see if there were anyone else watching. “Why would you think I think that??”

‘look dad! it’s mr. altman from my old school!’ and then before he could remind her that they were on their way somewhere, off keely kent ran, not a care in the world, as if they hadn’t been on their way to something. he sighed- if he had just had the time to home school keely (he was home schooled- and he turned out fine!)- another needless social interaction could be avoided. perhaps if this had happened at a different time, cooper would have had a better attitude toward seeing keely’s old teacher, one she adored, one she raved about, ‘I think he’s like us dad! i can tell’ ‘there is no_ like us_, keely, eat your peas’ (in reference to his heritage, and then hers as well, a tightly kept secretly that keely probably should never have been informed of this young). he took his time catching up to her, “-if you’re taking kids then you’re welcome to this one. she’s started cello lessons recently and won’t eat her peas.”

another perk of being a preschool teacher was seeing the kids he impacted coming back to give him hugs or play. it was just a warming feeling, knowing that these kids were doing good and that they still remembered him. “ who is that? is that .. keely? i thought that was an old lady! “ teddy teased as he patted samathas back who was still lung over his shoulder. the blonde quickly scooped up the other little girl, throwing her over the other shoulder easily. this was nothing for teddy, once he held at least seven kids at once but that was barely anything for a man like him who wasn’t exactly human. as keely’s dad approached, he set both the kids down especially because samantha’s kicking got very close to his face. “ cello lessons? so we got a musical prodigy ! “ teddy chuckled as he reached down and tickled the little girl before squating to sort of match her height which was hard because teddy was a pretty tall man. “ what’s this about not eating peas ? if you wanna be and strong like your dad here you gotta eat your veggies! “ the blonde stood up once again before briefly returning to adult mode. “ how’s everything going, other than the peas? i don’t think i got your name before either. “ he held out a hand. “ you can call me teddy, by the way and so can you, keely ! “ he added before sticking out a tongue at the little girl.

being a teacher was never something teddy had really thought about but ever since he started working at delilah’s, the idea of making this a permanent thing started to sound better and better. yes the sound of screaming children gave him raging migraines but the smiles and idiotic little kid sayings make up for it in their own way. “ oh samantha ! i’m gonna get you ! “ teddy bellowed as a young girl play screamed and started to run. it was after pick up time and her mother worked a bit later so she trusted him to just play with her in the local park until she got out. “ i GOT you !! “ the large blonde exclaimed as he playfully picked samantha up and threw her other his shoulder, in that moment, he noticed someone nearby. “ don’t worry - i’m not kidnapping her ! “ he yelled out, realizing afterwards that it definitely did sound like he was kidnapping her which made the laughing screaming coming from samantha not look too good.
