DURARARA!! VOLUME 4 HIGHLIGHTS
This is too long but since I have finished reading this book, I want to share my favorite events from the “Hollywood arc” which the majority of them don’t appear in the anime adaptation.
It is rumored that Egor killed a man, cutting his throat with a brand new bill.
Ruri, as “Hollywood” had been seen wearing costumes of a wolf, a mermaid and a dinosaur.
She has been compared as a pair of american thieves who disguised themselves to commit their crimes (…Isaac and Mira, anybody?)
Emilia is at least five years younger than Shinra!! And even so, she wants him and Celty to call her “mom”!
Emilia can read kanji but for some reason, she can’t speak it well, Celty thinks she is doing it on purpose.
Celty likes the series “friends”
Before Mika became her cooking teacher, Celty only could cook scrambled eggs and made Shinra taste it because she doesn’t have the sense of taste and smell.
The Raira uniform is green not blue!
Mikado reads magazines about pieces of advice to high school newcomers of Ikebukuro even though he is in his second year (He is still such a shy dork)
Yumasaki works as an ice sculptor while Karisawa works making and selling handmade jewelry.
Mairu made a deal with some motorcyclists, telling them she would “pay with the bodies of Kururi and herself”, if they gave her information about Celty… Take it as you like.
Mairu appeared in her first day of school reading a porn magazine for men.
Physically speaking, Kururi is only described as having thin arms which contrast with… well, her endowed breast.
Izaya considers his days in Raijin Academy as a disgusting bunch of memories because he had met Shizuo in that time.
Izaya made everyone believe he has twenty one, when he is older.
Izaya considers Namie his “right hand”.
He felt uncomfortable when he knew that he was being investigated by her. He claims he doesn’t like when people do that to him, instead of him doing it to others.
It is heavily implied that Mairu attempted (if not, she actually) raped the girl who had bullied her. After both went to the toilets, she appeared in the classroom with the girl’s bra and used it to clean her desk. Minutes later, the girl dropped out the school for good.
Kururi actually saw through the TV the money falling from Celty’s suit, though she didn’t know it was that. (I found this very impressive for her though)
Kazuka owns an entire apartment building!
Once he acted as a transvestite and often acts in sex scenes
Dokusonmaru fucking nailed its claws in Ruri’s wounds! Like WTF!? Ruri found it so cute though, that she didn’t remove it off her.
Shinra is jealous about Shizuo and Celty’s friendship and wants Shizuo to be “less masculine” when he is with her.
Izaya never had any idea about what had happened in the entire arc and asked Tsukumoya for answers. Obviously, Shinichi started mocking him.
Tsukumoya Shinichi claims each city has its own soul due to many intercellular connections that come from its habitants… strange isn’t it?
Celty had a little talk with Seiji about the head and she saw Mika spying them behind a pillar.
It is never clarified if Celty realized that the money she had lost is the same she obtained in the end. It’s a story for another day.
