To say Rhiannon was feeling overwhelmed was an understatement. She was still very much adjusting to her new position as the queen of Wales, and now to add to that, she was in a new place to speak to other world leaders. Just a few years ago, she was an irresponsible crown princess, and now her life was completely different.
While she was taking a walk, she was completely engrossed in a book and wasn’t paying much attention to where she was going, so of course it was only a matter of time until she bumped into someone. “Shit, I’m sorry. I’m literally a moron, this is what I get for trying to multitask. Are you alright?” She asked, letting out a laugh at her use of profanity. It was something she was trying to get better at, considering she was now a ruler of a country. @beingroyalstarters
“Leandro!” Céline called out as she walked the halls of the palace, searching for her son who had decided that hiding from his mother was a better option to finishing his breakfast. she sighed in frustration, her eyes searching for the young prince all around her, she was too distracted to notice that she had walked right into someone. “oh no, i should be the one to apologise. i wasn’t looking where i was going.” she offered an apologetic smile as she looked at the other woman’s face, recognising her after a second.
“Queen Rhiannon! I-I...I’m so sorry, this was not the welcome we intended for you to receive.” she nervously joked, her cheeks becoming slightly flushed with embarrassment. ‘way to go Céline, already bumping into guests and stammering when you talk to them, way to go’ she scolded herself internally.

sweet little céline was always led to believe that since her mother could not have children, shortly after getting married they adopted her from a nearby orphanage, and soon her younger sisters as well.
this was a lie, partially.
it was true that her mother couldn’t have children, but actually the illegitimate of the man she thought was her adopted father. Her biological mother was royalty, who couldn’t afford a scandal of having the child of a low-level, foreign noble and thus had her in secret and gave her away to her father. while she was pregnant, her father had met her mother, the youngest daughter of an important swiss noble family, who like him wanted to live away from the politics of court. he told her of his to-be born daughter and she told him how she was never going to be able to have children of her own. it seemed perfect really, they would be a family of their own. and so her adopted parents married, and adopted lord Von Gunten’s biological daughter.
Céline had an ideal childhood. their family lived away from the city, near nature, near the beautiful swiss alps. they were brought up as normal girls, away from the restricted court life. they didn’t live a lavish life, but they were well off.
her mother was Céline’s hero, she wanted to grow up to be just like her. she ran a non-profit, she taught Céline to appreciate what she had, and try to help those less fortunate than her. Céline always imagined herself running her mother’s non-profit eventually, believing that would be her future. she had always wanted to help those around her. she wanted to be a mother and a wife, live the quiet and idyllic life of the quiet country that her parents were living, the hustle and bustle of the city never interesting her.
she always did love being an elder sister, she loved playing with her sisters when they were younger and when they got older, she loved being the one they came to for advice on anything and everything. though their bond became slightly weaker as Céline went off to college.
while Céline knew of the crown prince, and had friend’s who would give anything to so much as talk to him, she had never held much interest when it came to the royal family. her parents had consciously chosen to leave behind the dirty politics that came with being royalty or anywhere near them, so she was not about to willingly enter that world. or so she thought.
at university she met the crown prince, and before she knew it, she got swept away in that world her parents had fled. dating him came with handling the circus of the media, and fitting in with people much above her station. but for him, to be with him, she did it or at least tried to. she gave up her dream of the living a quiet life, instead choosing the high-profile life of a royal, and never complained once, out of sheer love & devotion to her love.
There wasn’t much support for the match in his family, they weren’t against it but they did think that their heir ought to marry someone from a family that was more prominent, or a royal. Céline always worried that her boyfriend’s family, or maybe even her country, didn’t think she was good enough and that anxiety never really went away. But her now-husband fought off all opposition and married her seven years ago. They have two kids, a son Leandro 4, and a daughter Eva , 2.
Her husband became king almost a year ago after the sudden death of his father, and Céline has been trying her hardest to do her title of queen justice since then.
Once she was queen and had access to all the documents in her country, she also accidentally found out the truth about her parentage. While she’s confronted her father and made her peace with him for almost a year now, she hasn’t approached her biological mother or her half-siblings. Now that they’re here for political reasons, Céline is contemplating whether she wants to approach them.

being a mother is her greatest achievement yet and everyday, she tries to ensure that not only will her children be good royals, but that they’ll be good people.
she was a free-spirt before she had to give up a certain amount of her freedom when she married the crown prince, but she’s still pretty lively, cheerful and forever optimistic.
