petition for him to be the leader of my people
“Today I spent good twenty minutes witnessing two grown women argue about kale. Or, to be precise, the best place to get kale in Los Angeles.” Claudia blinked twice, still quite puzzled by the conversation, as she went on to take a sip of her generously-sized thing of iced coffee. “Too bad I couldn’t really hear the end of their conversation. Do you know where the best kale is?”

“hello. would you like a kitten?” bastien carried a basket of newborn kittens. “how ironic it is that i get paid for making ‘predictions’ based on sound reasoning and data. i let a stray cat stay in my spare bedroom for longer than i should have because i grew too attached. i didn’t realize it was about to birth kittens. i can’t handle having so many needy things stay in my penthouse.” he smiled. “they’re free. just give them a good home.” offhandedly, he went on a tangent: “i rarely see bad boy sorts take stray cats in real life, unlike on tv….” he paused, then muttered, “the lord must be punishing me.”
“A kitten?” Claudia repeated, positively dumbfounded. Who walked about with a basket of kittens in their arm? The situation started to make a little more sense when an explanation was given but the confused expression would not leave her face. “Oh no, that is awful. I don’t think I can get a cat, though. I don’t... I wouldn’t have the time to take care of one, especially one so tiny,” she admitted with genuine sadness in her voice. “But I could mention them to my friends? I am sure one or two of them wouldn’t mind a little kitten.” She remained silent for a moment, idly playing with her jewellery. “Does it matter?”

(x) ‘aye, chica! we got a customer!’’ currently rolled underneath a broken down PONTIAC GTO, elise cursed under breath for whoever thought that doing their own work with DUCT tape to fix a leak in the car’s pipe was a good idea. ‘i’m coming, papá,’ she yells back, taking her wrench one last time and making sure that the parts are tightly merged together before sighing. she’s been working a ten hour shift a day for the last two months, yet she knew better than to complain. her life wasn’t complicated or awful; in fact she made good money, worked at a job she adored and all her father’s men were like brothers to her and treated her as an equal despite the motorcycle gang they were in. that doesn’t mean she didn’t need a break, though. pushing her feet against the ground, she rolled out from the side with ease as she slowly got up, not hesitating to move her neck from side to side to hopefully relieve the sore spot bellow her head. she knows she’s a mess, wearing some jean shorts with a black crop top and a checkered shirt currently draped around her waist. all of which are spotted with oil. yet she doesn’t care, the only thing that mattered was that she was comfortable and her element; not looking to impress anyone. walking towards the from of the shop, she pushed open the main door and didn’t hesitate to wipe her dirty hand on a piece of rag she carries in her back pocket. ‘hey, can i help you?’’ she greets the person whose back is turned to her, waiting for them to tell her what they needed so she could get back to work.
Claudia hasn’t exactly planned visiting the repair shop but her car had clearly a mind of its own and now, suddenly, needed urgent maintenance. Sure, she didn’t know much about cars - she hadn’t even driven before arriving to Los Angeles where such a skill seemed nothing short of necessary - but even her untrained eye could tell something was wrong. After all, there had been smoke and that couldn’t possibly be a good thing. So, she’s now stood there, looking around quietly as she waits for someone to have a look at her car, a proper old piece of junk. She jumps ever so slightly when she realises someone has arrived, has even addressed her. “Oh, hi,” she begins, turning around and nodding her head, “sorry, I didn’t hear you. Anyway, I think the engine of my car might be, uh, overhearing? There was smoke.”

he’s been working on his show script for over two hours now, there’s usually someone who proofreads and helps him out in general but he’s the one to come up with the first draft, and as the ideas flow he doesn’t realize it’s been already hours since he’s had a break. the way his legs and back start to cramp up due to the way he’s been sitting down make him stop for a second. he gets up from the chair to go get more coffee, but in the process manages to hit his head with one of the hanging lightbulbs. “shit,” he curses as a hand rubs his head, then notices someone else watching him. instantly feeling a little embarrassed. “i mean, what’s up with these weird hipster lightbulbs. like, why are they hanging so low, am i right?”
Claudia nodded as she craned her neck to properly study said light bulbs. They were pretty - at least they were beautiful to her - but hardly functional in a place where people of all heights were expected to walk about between consuming their cups of coffee. “It is weird,” she admitted, tearing her eyes away from the topic of discussion. “I mean, I can see the appeal. They are nice to look at. Then again, they’re not a rarity anymore, are they? All these artisan coffee shops have low-hanging light bulbs and, I don’t know, distressed wood.”
i was going to be here for the grand opening but i somehow ended up developing a super disgusting case of cold and just passed out. i will hit the starter tag and get to my IMs soon!

all i really want in life is to be a 16th century italian noblewoman tangled in a stringent love affair with a corrupt and lascivious cardinal who my boring husband goes to for confession. Titian paints me weekly and i always look great

hello friends! i am riina and i am so darn excited to be here. seriously, i am vibrating with enthusiasm. anyway, here are some tidbits about my darling child, claudia.
━━━ adria arjona, twenty seven, cisfemale ↷ claudia reyes has been living in wisteria apartments as a graphic designer for two years. during that time she has earned the reputation of the paracosmist. it makes sense you know, they can be avoidant and domineering. but let’s not forget they’re pretty creative and resourceful.
