Fancy Meeting [ Jin - Angela ]
medicaljinetics:
At her little confession, Jin turned his eyes at her and raised a brow. So he had been right on the spot; she really did have some difficulties coming with her farm work. While he had no idea just what kind of problems those could be, it wouldn’t do. Though it was a bit… concerning that she was already having problems, Jin had no ill thoughts towards the young farmer. Honestly, if he didn’t have Irene working with him right now, he was certain he’d have difficulty managing the Clinic himself. He still had much to learn from her.
Perhaps that’s what really she needed. A little assistance.
    …Still couldn’t help much there.
”Mm?” Jin found himself rather amused by Angela’s comment. She didn’t think he was? "Is there something about me that makes you think that?" He asked, fully curious on why she may have thought so.
Jin had to keep himself from letting out a small laugh. Well, wasn’t she quite forward! Already asking him to visit her after such a small first conversation. How lovely, he supposed he’d have to take up her offer.
…Well, in truth, he had to hesitate a bit with his answer. This could have been the start of a possible friendship. While he didn’t mind creating any new ones, he had to really ask himself—
—was he ready to make new ones? It had been years after all… And then almost immediately, Irene’s words the day he came back came crashing to him at full speed.
'Hurry up and make some new friends, boy! I don't want to see you sitting around in the Clinic all day, moping. Making me depressed just by looking at you.'
”…Thank you for the offer.” Jin nodded in agreement, pushing up his mask as the sides of his lips tugged up ever so slightly. Even if he wasn’t so certain himself, he may as well go along with it for his Grandmother’s sake. She’d probably be off-put by how, as he thought, boring he was once they spoke more. He had his doubts it’d even last very long. "When my schedule allows me some free time, I’d be glad to visit."Â
“Hmm.. I don’t know actually” She brings her finger up to her chin and lightly taps it in thought. “You give off that vibe I guess, the new kid vibe.” She giggles at how childish her answer must have sounded to him.
In the flow of the conversation, it seemed Angela forgot that they were just barely acquainted with each other, that hours ago they were strangers even. She didn’t really think about how forward her offer was until she said it out loud. Perhaps, in retrospect, she should have tried being a bit less bold but it seemed it was in her nature, she never really thought about what she said, especially when the conversation was going so well.
The ghost of a smile on his face confirmed she made the right decision however, and she found herself gently smiling back. She felt as though the knots in her stomach slowly untied themselves when she heard his next words. She wasn’t entirely aware of how anxious she actually was to hear his answer. She was relieved he accepted her offer, very much so that she was certain she would speak her next words with great fervor.
“I’m looking forward to it!” This could be the start of a friendship, she could feel it.
