God of Life is technically God of: Family, Friendship, Birthing, and Lust
Eye for an Eye: Trading eyes gives new perspective.
Heart is a piece of graphite, rubbing off on everything. People get angry, yell at you. Try to wipe off all the dust alone, cant. Try to keep it all in your hands, hold it so hard that it becomes a diamond. It doesn't rub off on people anymore, regardless if you want it to.
Life is something else, lol.
He's a bit of a proud poppa, but he's very much a "survival of the fittest" type god.
He was actually chosen to create The People when everyone was trying to create their own and have them do battle. That was decided to be extremely shitty, as their creations lacked any sort of will, intelligence, or empathy. These beings did not resemble anything sentient or kind, as they knew no pain, fear, or understanding of what they were made to do.
This was not bad, as they were essentially making puppets to play with. The horror began when they started giving these creatures Life, with thoughts and feelings. The more that these proto-People were made to be like the Gods, the more unease was felt with making them fight, or manipulating their lives and hearts.
So, it was decided, that there would be these People, like them but not as grand, not as powerful, but just as able to think and feel. To prevent any sort of war from being started just because of the Gods, and because He called it first basically, there was born a God of Life, who created and maintained The People.
He made some of them like a few previous races, but most of them were new creations.
He created the First People, and he decided when and/or if they could spawn more of their kind. He remedied them, and he allowed them to be ailed, and he decided when their lives should end in accordance with the other Gods.
The only limit to his power came from what his creations could do, and the agreements to what their limits should be.
Aside from a few things like death and disease, His creations were free to go about their life in any way they wanted, could learn and become anything they chose. They could completely renounce His power, and solely praise another God. They wouldn't live nearly as long, but they were free to do so!
Because the power of creation was His and only His to claim, he also made others, that were perhaps not as smart, or kind, but more powerful. He made these less plenty, but so many different being existed. Life got carried away, perhaps, and made a few too many, but the good thing was that they would mostly keep each other in check. And it's not like He couldn't kill or alter them once created.
And He allowed them to be imbued with magic, to be affected by all the elements, and time, and various other things, and other Gods. He sometimes Loathes the other Gods for their trespass on His Realm, but He agreed, and He has a wondrous power, the best in His opinion, so he can forgive them their intrusions.
I think Death would be represented by white, because that's also the color of Life, and I don't think the view of it is the same.
Like, in my universe, death isn't viewed as a thief that comes and takes people from their life. Death comes and takes you and cares for you until it's your turn to live once more. She is essentially a form of reincarnation.
Death is the assurance that you don't just cease to exist. Death pleaded for The People to have souls, because she found it upsetting that they would not live forever, but for just a drop in the ocean.
She made souls, and whenever another body is made She sews a soul inside, in order that people may live longer than a single life. She went a little overboard though, and hasn't even made it through her first batch of souls She produced. She barely has to reuse any, because there are not nearly enough people to house them all.
Souls are like a collection of memories that a person is born with; they usually don't remember anything that "they" have done, but they continue to add to the story of that soul, filling it with more memories and experiences.
But people can be affected by souls, although they are not the only determining factor in behavior. To combat the introduction of "bad" souls, souls that have lived lives of treachery and evil, when the God of Death takes them back (to a type of "hell", although it doesn't have any real bad connotations aside from people wanting to spend as much time living before they go), She makes them repent for their misdeeds by viewing the suffering they caused and waiting for them to realize what they've done.
She isn't harming them, but they cannot collect any new experiences or return to a new body until She has made sure that someone will not be "tainted" by their influence.
The God of Life has no real strong feelings on this, as She doesn't impact his ability to birth people, and She is the one doing the work.
She's really nice, and She worries about everyone, because She sees that some of them come in looking raggedy and torn to shreds, and most of them come to Her in relief that they are no longer in pain or misery. She doesn't really understand why people don't come to her sooner, and she's not happy that everyone else conspires to make The People's lives hard and dangerous and not pleasant.
But She chose her path, and She knows Her Realm of influence, so she'll just make due with letting them live forever, like her.
Claircognizance is basically cheating, lol. I mean, you basically have to sift through all the knowledge in the world, so it's more like finding a specific fish in the ocean.
And the God of Fate can basically fuck with you, because they are the one responsible for that branch of magic, so if they don't like you, or they don't want you to know something, fat chance.
Also, using claircognizance magic means you're basically drawing from the same pool of magic as the God of Fate and History, so there's that.
The easiest way to end the world is still complicated as fuck.
I was thinking that there should probably be a spell like that. I mean to accomplish that is basically impossible, unless you sealed yourself in a time-bubble, and even then you would have to hope that the god that deals with time doesn't fuck with you at all, or any of the other gods. You could also try and find a spot shielded from the gods, but again, good luck with that.
So the spell itself is like a ridiculous 57-days long, and it has to be said by one "person". So the way to go about doing this be to first find the spell, which no one is going to tell you, and probably the only way would be to get ungodly good claircognizance or communing with the Highest God (the first one is more realstic),go to a shielded place, make a copy of someone (or do it yourself, but that's even more complicated)
Then burn the thousands of words into your mind so that you can recite them in order, have people standing around to attend to your body (probably finding spells to deal with eating, waste, and sleeping), and to keep guard against gods or anything else. They also have to deal with their own hunger/needs for 2 MONTHS.
And then they all die?
No one said destroying the world was worth it.
(destroying all life, on the other hand, is slightly less deadly, but still quite. Also it's almost as hard, if not harder)
Pantheon is probably gonna be as close as I can get to a word for a list of gods :(
I swear I found a better one once!
This is basically a blog for world-building.
I'll little things about my Gods and any other creatures I come up with, races, politics, mythos, and maybe some characters/Important People.
This will not be updated regularly, I can guarantee that right now. But whenever I get the stray thought, I'll try to update here!
I might also post some other things that I've already worked out.
