She was sure at one point in her life there was hope. Lola lived off of hope, was born of hope. Her parents were active in the fight against supernaturals. Borderline fanatic but as a child she never saw it that way. Only saw two people who would do anything to protect their family. Anything to keep them safe.
Her family was raised with the knowledge of all things that went bump in the night. Coming from a long line of self appointed “protectors of humanity” when the first mutters of protests turning to war began, the Bishop’s were on the frontline. Ready to lend their hunting skills and knowledge to the rest of the world.
Her best skills came with her hands. Able to stitch up clothing and fabrics almost as quick as she could a wound. From the time she was old enough to see over the table and strong enough to keep her hands steady, Lola played doctor for the human resistance, trained by her father.
For almost a decade all she knew was war. A fire burned among the human rebellion and over the years as she grew she watched it flicker out. The wishful thinking, the what ifs, the hope slowly lost as the body count grew higher and higher. Eventually her parents would join the count, and then a sibling, an uncle, a best friend, a lover. She watched war take them one by one.
Despite it all Lola continued to fight. There wasn’t anything else she could do. Every last shred of her former life and the hope for a future was picked away until all that remained was the fear of a collar clasped tightly around her neck. It was the only motivation she had left driving her. Fear and the the uncertainty of her life ahead.
When the war came to an end, the humans on the losing side, Lola slipped away along with the last of the resistance. Living along the outskirts of the city or hidden among it with the help of allies. Her freedom was short lived however after the rebel attack on the city. Captured and collared she was quickly separated from the last of her friends and family and forced into the world of Firebrand.
She’s been a slave to the city for nearly a month now. A small spark still burns somewhere but it’s buried by each and every loss she’s suffered. No leader herself Lola keeps an ear to the ground for any new movement among the resistance, any new talk of rebellion. Since the last attack however it’s been radio silence so far.
CASIUS is an UNKNOWN year old PANSEXUAL, CISMALE, HE/HIM, here in Firebrand City. People say they look a lot like BEN BARNES. They are CHARMING but can be CRUEL. They are a DEMON SUPERIOR in Firebrand and they work as a GUARDIAN.

Casius’ earliest memories were engulfed in holy fire. His time in paradise was spent as a drone among many. Another cog in the legion of the heavens preaching the word of assimilation and a bigger picture. In the beginning he easily fell into line, marching on like a good a soldier. It wasn’t until darkness crept into the hearts of his brothers and sisters did he think to turn his head and take a step off the path.
Rebellion took form and though Casius wasn’t among the first to be cast out for his disobedience and disloyalty he would be soon to follow. Before he was caught he played the perfect spy, sending news to the fallen of any talk of battle or war.
Once a being of great light, now burned by his own sin and deception. A creature reborn of brimstone and shadows. The pain of fire and the torn flesh of his back came like a white hot light. Though it nearly destroyed him nothing has ever tasted sweeter than the fall. The mauled scars on his back worth the price.
While his kin fed off of lust and desire Casius was consumed with wrath and chaos. A creature born to war and to create war. For years his contentment was held with torturing souls into contracts, feeding off their fear and pride. He wasn’t particularly quick with his work, preferring to draw things out. Always a game of cat and mouse.
Whispers of the surface caught his attention. Earth was overflowing with selfish souls, fresh and pure for the taking. Some demons managed to slip through the cracks, others so good they were promoted to the top. Casius knew he was average at best. Too brutal, too sloppy, too reckless. He’d never stand out among his brothers and sisters. Escape was his only option.
Loyalty was never his strong suit. Though most of the memory is smoke and ash Casius knew his fall came from his own desires and it was his own desires that would propel him to claw his way out of hell. For three centuries he wandered the terrain of Earth, feeding off souls and the chaos he created within them. Never staying in one place for too long and almost too quick to severe any ties.
He made deals for life, the promise of wealth, promise of love. They all came with his own twists. A prize not without punishment. The consumption of a soul was not nearly enough to please him. Eventually he word of the war for Firebrand. Casius for the first time lent a hand to his kin and their allies. With the world ever changing he knew how important it was to keep up.
Casius turned his loyalty to the council, offering a protection to the city as a Guardian. Though he wasn’t one for authority he couldn’t deny the perks. It kept him under good graces with those in control but left him with little responsibility himself. It kept his itch for war and bloodshed, enjoying the power that came with the role.
As always his loyalty will remain to himself and to whoever can offer him the best deal. For now that falls to the leaders and their guidance. He was always good at pretending to be the perfect soldier. Now would be no different.
