Kepler being a master cook who can do the fanciest dishes is a great headcanon, but it's also important to me that whenever he offers to cook for the SI-5 all Maxwell and Jacobi want are like a cheeseburger or something and he's exasperated from this repeated underuse of his skillset

minkowski had just decided that they would stay. no one knew if they were going to ever step foot on that ship again, if they would ever step foot on EARTH again. he has. MAYBE a few minutes before shit starts to go down. the crew is nearly EIGHT LIGHT YEARS AWAY from home. he doesn’t have a lot of options, here! it isn’t like the sol has a way to record a video of someone and send it through the vacuum of space to command email-style, and even if it DID, he wouldn’t have time to figure out how it worked! and why would they have the old-timey fax machine version of the pulse beacon relay that can send written messages when this ship has the technology to essentially have command on speed dial? and again, even if it did, this is still an AUDIO DRAMA. how would they have communicated that he was writing this message when it was supposed to be done in secret?
like. yes, maybe it wasn’t the best and most reasonable and most accessible way of communicating this information. but i’ve seen way too many posts talking about how it was just eiffel being ignorant and fucking up again and that makes me really sad because he’s been trying so hard and this was such a sweet moment for me :(
ALSO the thing that fucks me up about Jacobi is that his whole mental state and ability to function hinges on Moving Foreward. He seperates out and represses the shit he cant deal with, For The Good Of The Mission. But there ISNT a mission anymore. Goddard is GONE. the si5 are dead! He had no marching orders, no support network, and almost 2 decades of skeletons in the closet just YAMMERING to get out. Its not just the stuff that happened on the Hephastus- its all the stuff that went down on si5 missions. Its all the stuff that went down when he was still working in orbital bombardment. He hasn't dealt with anything in fullness- hes just plastered a bunch of bandages over the wounds. But now Kepler and Maxwell are gone, and Goddards been beheaded, and he has nothing to keep his emotions in check.

It might seem too on the nose but I mean, it’s not your traditional bway musical, the music is very modern, based on a film he likes and probably has seen a thousand times before, and for what I’ve heard it has A FLYING DELOREAN !!! So yeah, I think he’d really like this musical
Minkowski - Rent
She’s canonically a theatre kid and she DEF gives me Sondheim fanatic vibes but if she had to choose a favorite (I don’t think she’d have one, it would change depending on the day) then she’d say Rent because it’s probably one of the shows that made her fall in love with theatre, besides the whole “no other road, no other way. No day but today” message too.

Okay I might be biased because I did this musical last summer BUT hear me out. It’s about this bunch of badass girls in a juvie hall in the 60s who fight for revolution against society norms (and end up burning down juvie hall). Plus, a cute love story between two of the girls!!
I just think she would enjoy a catchy badass musical about girls singing against the system !!
Hilbert - Chess
A musical about Russian and American spies in a love triangle and play chess?? Sign him up
Tbf I don’t even think he’d enjoy musicals but if he did I think he’d enjoy chess.
Lovelace - In The Heights
Pushing the afro latina Isabel Lovelace agenda, I don’t think she would enjoy traditional musicals but things like pop/rock and hip hop modern musicals could get a pass. In the heights it’s the perfect balance for her of Latin, hip hop and broadway.
Jacobi - Sweeney Todd
Listen, this guy knows which classical music piece uses literal canons on their orchestra, he would love this one due to all the litters of fake blood that there are. I also like to think he’s a fan of the sopranos for Sweeney, if you’ve ever heard the opening at least, you know the iconic crescendo. Besides it’s a dark musical I think he’d like.

Maxwell - The Book Of Mormon
The Reverend’s daughter??? Yes. She understands the satire of it, the irony and dark humor. Even though I think at first she would have been skeptical about it but once she gave it a chance it was a hilarious piece with a great soundtrack

As a theater kid Kepler truther, he is another Sondheim fan, specially to compare him to ALW. But I think he can appreciate every piece of musical theatre even if he will always say the old musicals are way better. I think he’d like company since it is a musical about a man his age and his life struggles with such a fantastic and iconic soundtrack

Thinking about Minkowski being born in Warsaw. She was born in 78 and moved out when she was 11, so around 1989 which is a WILD detail because like. The round table talks. The round table agreement. THE JULY 4 1989 ELECTION. Berlin wall falling in all the same year. So yeah I really really appreciate that, yeah the family moved when they became freely able to. Its a small detail and yet it makes me want to bite my desk
All this because I remembered she was born in Warsaw and I GREW UP!!!IN WARSAW!!! I AM IN WARSAW NOW!!! STILL!!! But also someone posted the transcript of her accent speech to Eiffel and its the most genuine form of representation that stuck to me as a polish person (maybe bc of the media format lmao) but like. Yeah you pick the battles. When I dont speak english out loud for a while I speak it with the front of my mouth and accent the ends of words. And roll r's. When I thought about changing my surname when applying to unis abroad (personal but also no one absolutely no one is able to pronounce mine and its very distinctivly polish) my mom sat me down and said if I took her surname it would still be butchered. And at that time I thought 'well it is what it is'. But then you get Minkałsky instead of Minkowski. And you think. About picking your battles. And how polish you want to be, and appear to be, when abroad.
Plus they made her polish and she didnt have any russian characteristics or polish stereotypes which was really nice
I am by no metric an Alexander Hilbert defender, but as a character and an antagonist he goes hard as fuck tbh. A man who has given up absolutely everything -- his life, his identity, his morality -- in the pursuit of a "greater good" that actually, as it turns out, doesn't work and never will. Seen as entirely disposable by the organization he has dedicated his life to and isn't even mad about it. Ostensibly cares for humanity but refuses to care for the people right in front of him. An unapologetic mad scientist caricature that is expanded and given depth and torn open to show what could make a person act like that. I have no sympathy for him and no remorse that he's dead but that's some really really good character writing
I know the majority of the fandom dislikes that Eiffel called him Alexander Hilbert rather than Dmitri Volodin during the funeral but some of my favourite moments in the show are moments like in Do No Harm when he yells at Lovelace “Selberg not here today, and Hilbert not taking questions!” and in Pan-Pan when he says “My name is Alexander Hilbert. I have attempted to murder everyone in this room.” and then he goes on to list his crimes and his worldview and it’s those moments when Alexander Hilbert is the only person he is, and he owns it. Dmitri Volodin died with the Soviet Union. Elias Selberg died with the rest of his crew. it was only Hilbert left.
I don’t know. there’s something very poetic about it to me.
