“I mean ... I try? It just doesn’t seem to go well, usually.” Liam pointed out before giving the younger girl a small smile, “You wouldn’t mind? I could definitely use a second opinion.”

“I’ll come, because you want me to. But I don’t know if I’ll like her, people usually rub me the wrong way” she said, fully aware that she had a very abrasive personality. But of course, that’s not how Liam remembered her. She was a lot sweeter back then.
Liam shrugged, “Maybe not. But it can’t hurt to meet her?” he said carefully, “She’s always been really good to me.” he explained. He’d like for Bea to finally get to meet his former foster-sister.

“Just be someone else for the night….Yeah, that sounds.. that sounds really nice” he said with a small smile. That was something Brendon had tried in the past, to be like someone other than himself, and it didn’t turn out too well for him. But this time- no one would know it was him, maybe then he could feel comfortable enough to let go for once and have fun.
“I mean, I think that’s kind of half the point of dressing up.” he said with a small shrug, “I should probably take my own advice more often though. I don’t really ... like attention, but maybe I should just wear something with a mask myself?” he said, considering the idea.

oh, boy. a glimpse at another sob story. how…enticing. ophelia shrugs, picking off a piece of muffin and popping it in her mouth. “i mean, that’d be the easy way out - asking someone to pick out a costume for her. but, of course, it’s up to you, babe.”
Liam ran a hand through his hair, “I don’t know. I just don’t want to pick something dumb and embarrass Bea. I mean, she manages the country club and that’s where she’s hosting it, so I guess it might be kind of a big deal.”

“It’s much simpler and only the X-Men fans are really going to notice you then” she shrugged. “Do you want me to come?” she asked, “I don’t know what costume I’d wear, I have the night off but I was just going to chill at home probably”
Liam nodded at that, “Definitely sounds like a good idea then.” he said before giving her a small smile, “I’d like it if you’d come? It would give me someone else I know there, and I think you’ll like Bea. She does throw a really good party too.”

“Are you sure?” he said before smiling at the next comment. He liked the idea of little kids mistaking him for the real spiderman. “I’m a dancer, so I could do flips and stuff when a kid thinks I’m really spiderman, I think that would sell it” he nodded, trying to use what Liam said to stop feeling so insecure about it. “Yeah, yeah, you’re right”
“Yeah, exactly!” Liam said with a grin, “Just ... be somebody else for the night. Isn’t that kind of the point anyway?” he suggested. Maybe he should take his own advice, wear something with a mask and quit being so self-conscious for once. He wondered if that would even work for him.

“craigslist?” ophelia replies smartly, taking a sip from her coffee before thinking over a real answer. she relishes in the moment of silence, preferring to make people wait for her answers. “hmm, i don’t know. you can get some make-shift items from thrift stores. or a joker’s wild.” any of the aforementioned options were practically foreign to her, as she only shopped at boutiques and five-star stores, but might as well give him a few ideas for the, well, commonfolk.
Liam made a face but sighed, “I guess you’re probably right.” he said, “I didn’t realize I’d be quite this clueless about it. But I haven’t really done Halloween since my first foster family gave up on making me trick-or-treat. No, wait. I take that back. Bea dragged me too some parties when we were teenagers too, but I just made her pick out my costume then. Maybe I should do that now? It is her party.” he said, half to himself as he considered the idea.

“Yeah, I guess it is” he looked back at him, “Maybe I should put this costume away until I can get a little slimmer and it looks better- I don’t know, I feel kind of weird about it” he mentioned, but there was nothing wrong with Brendons figure, infact the costume fit him perfectly and he looked as fit as a real spiderman would be, he was just insecure.
“You look fine, kid.” Liam insisted, “Honestly, you could totally fool some little ones into thinking you’re the real deal.” he continued with a small smile. “I wouldn’t worry about it, I mean I get kind of self-conscious too, but there’s a mask. Nobody has to know it’s you unless you want them too.”

“Villain themed, hmm…” she thought for a second, “You can cross dress and be maleficent, that’d be funny to watch” she smiled, “Or be Magneto, you just need the weird helmet and an asymmetrical cape”
“Magneto sounds simpler ... and like I would get less attention.” he said after a moment, which was good as Liam’s goal in life had certainly never been to draw attention to himself. “Do you think you’ll come? Do you have the night off?”
“I never actually do this Halloween thing, but my friend’s throwing a party this year and I’m pretty sure I’m not getting out of going.” he commented, “Do you have any idea where I could get some kind of last-minute costume? She say’s it’s villain themed.”

My halloween costume came in and I like it and all, but I think it might be…kind of… too form fitting- I don’t know. What do you think?
“Isn’t that the point of those kind of costumes?” Liam questioned. “They’re form fitting in the comics and movies, right? So if you can pull it off, I’d say it just makes them more accurate.”

“God fuckin ––” the girl shook her head looking over at him before sighing. “I had two hundred bucks, an Amex and my visa. Shit.”
Liam sighed but nodded, “Okay. Well, we can report that. Hopefully there were camera’s near where it was found. You’ll want to shut down the visa right away though, and get a new one issued.” he advised.

Skylar was usually a very calm and collected person, always, but especially on the job. But her newest passenger was so jittery that it almost made her uncomfortable too. Not really paying attention to him until he talked, she turned her head for a moment to look at him instead of watching out for any possible threats. She always acted as a security while she drove people around, but she did not necessarily liked this when a shipment this big was left unsupervised with only one dealer and a get away driver. She had no doubt her abilities of driving and combat, but she’d much appreciate it if someone took out the other guys while she drove away, in case guns were pulled on them. And although she hated to admit it, something felt odd to herself as well. She had been driving for so long to know when the shipment was just late (aka the boss was being a dick) or if they had walked into a trap. This one particularly was dangerously close to passing that line.
She mimicked his sigh, just…more bored, rather than worried. “I’ll see what’s up,” she said, unbuckling her seat belt. “Do not get out of the car. Clear?” she asked, somehow feeling like he wouldn’t listen. She reached to the back seat and grabbed her batons. “If I tell you to go, you jump on that wheel and drive away,” she gave him a look. “But I doubt it’s anything to worry about,” the blonde said with a shrug as she got out.
Liam might not have been involved in the criminal part of things for long, but he had been a police officer for years. Coupled with the way he had grown up, that meant that he had learned to trust his instincts a long time ago, and right now his instincts were telling him that something was very, very wrong. He didn’t know exactly what to do, he certainly couldn’t risk blowing the operation, and angering Ryan wasn’t high on his list of things to do either, but he also didn’t particularly want to die tonight.
“What are talking about?” he asked, panic spiking when the woman made to get out of the car, “No, I’m not leaving you. At least let me act as back-up. I know what I’m doing too, I promise.” he insisted. The last time he wanted to get this woman killed tonight because he hadn’t been sure of how to react. “I’m not exactly unarmed either.” he added, which was true. He just didn’t want to have to use his weapon, and how useful it would be all depended on if this was an ambush.

Juliet rolled her eyes as she grabbed her wallet, looking inside to see that her cash and her cards were gone. “What the fuck? My money –– Everything is gone, did you see who took it? Aren’t you a cop?”
Liam sighed, shaking his head. “I found it empty, but it had your ID in it. I have to know what else was inside to make a report, if that’s what you want.” he explained.

Liam sighed as he finally got her attention and she responded about as well as he thought she would, “I think you dropped this?” he said, holding out the object. “I just figured you probably wanted it back.

To say that Liam was nervous about what he was about to do was a complete understatement. He’d been undercover with the Cotter mob for a while now, but every time he had to do something technically illegal it made him a nervous wreck. They needed the information to try to take down as many people as they could, which meant that it was just part of his job to go along with the drug deals, even if it didn’t feel quite right. Now though, Liam had a bad feeling that extended way beyond the usual, but there was no way to back out. He had a driver with him, and he was supposed to be taking in a big shipment. He couldn’t afford to mess this up.
He turned to look at the driver, sighing softly. “Our contact is late, I’m not sure I like this.” he confessed before going back to scanning their surroundings for the person they were supposed to meet. “Something feels off. If this is a set up, we need to be ready to get out of here.” he warned her.

“How late they stay up? Oh, I’m a night owl, definitely. And if I have a project going on, I can be up most of the night, if not all night, really. Sometimes I go full ‘sleep is for the weak’ until my dad or brothers remind me that’s dumb. What a typical Tuesday night looks like? Going over whatever I need to for work, and spending a lot of time online to keep up with recent design trends. A lot of times I’ll grab dinner with a friend, or one of my brothers too. Interior decorating aesthetic? Well, I really like to explore different styles. Personally a lot of it depends on the clients personality, and goals for the space. But personally? I like darker but modern style furniture with really bright pops of color, accent walls are still cool for me too. I like hardwood floors, and a lot of pillows and rugs. I want things to look comfortable and fun. It’s nice to have a few things hanging around to show personality, and interests, but too much is overwhelming so I keep what’s visible limited. I do have a couple of walls of pictures though.”
