She remained silent for a moment. what she would say next felt worse than the entire gang part. She knew her parents would push her away for getting pregnant without a partner. If Warren would push her away she wouldn't know what to do "I'm pregnant. Grayson's the father."

[officertorres]

Warren swallowed hard when she finall told him the big news. A strong grimace forming over his face. He almost wanted to take it back. Wishing he hadn't heard it. Hazel didn't know about his bad side. The spats he had gotten into with him. Hell, Dessi barley even knew. "Grayson?" He questions, his face getting tighter. "This isn't good" He mumbled, his arms crossing. "Can you leave them.. the people you're with" He refused to say gang, he couldnt. "Do not tell them you're pregnant"

Roxie went and brought Warren his usual. “This one is on me.” 

[officertorres]

"Thanks" He wanted to protest, but decided against it. "So you've been alright?"

[roxie-sullivan]

"there is nothing to talk about." 

[officertorres]

Fine, fine. I just want a beer.

"That’s the story you’re going to go with really?" The dark haired officer looked at the person opposite from her, while she wondered to herself how anyone could possibly be so fucking stupid.

[officertorres]

"Thats what I'm sticking too" He shrugged, going to finish his food. "We gotta file our own papers and shit cause we don't have a receptionist anymore"

[roxie-sullivan]

"I’m fine Warren. What did you want?"

[officertorres]

For you to talk to me.

[dessie-kneel]

You don’t put yourself life on the line. You go out looking for trouble and one day it’s going to kill you. I can’t lose another person because I don’t think I could handle it. I lost my dad, I don’t need to lose anyone else.

[officertorres]

How do I go looking for trouble? I don't look for it, I try to stop it. That's my job, that's what I promised to do. To protect you and everyone else in this damned city. I'm not quitting my job, I'm not giving up. If I die in the line of duty, then so be it.

[dessie-kneel]

You promised me that you’d protect me no matter what. I don’t want to ever feel weak like that again, its why I left. I don’t want you and boys to go up in flame if no one is there help. No..no you weren’t stupid for thinking otherwise. You’re not the only one who wanted something more out of this. I just don’t know who do this. I don’t know how to be with you and fear that you’re going to die.

[officertorres]

I'm a cop, Des. That's my job to put my life on the line. 

[farah-crutchfield]

Farah was just about to pipe in with some anecdotal tale, something lightly connected to the tale of woe he had just told her about. But when she opened her mouth to speak, the words wouldn’t come out. She felt out of her element, as if she were invading on something personal and private and perhaps that’s because she was. His final statement sticks with her, reminds her of her half-losses, her shallow pains, the things that don’t even hold a candle to his own misfortune.

With a gulp, Farah nods and says, “I feel like you were, too.”

Even though Warren knew the woman didn't know his sister personally, it felt good to hear her agree. Some sort of validation that after all this time he was allowed to be upset. That his anger, guilt, sadness was acceptable. He appreciated it, knowing not too many others would of even carried on the conversation after he even mentioned death. Or probably would of made the situation about them. Growing up in a shit town with a lot of violence, everyone was bound to loose someone. 

"Thank you" He said sincerely. He nodded his head and pushed away his glass. "I really do wish you good luck"

You know why I am looking for a new job if you dont want me to leave, I’ll come back. I don’t know what happened between us. It’s just the pressure is too insurmountable and I didn’t know how to talk to you anymore. I miss my friend and I need him. I need him more now that ever and I feel like I ruined that. I keep ruining it. We were something special but I..maybe we can’t ever be more than this. Friends.

[officertorres]

Do what you have to do Des. Don't come back if it'll only hurt you. Maybe we can't. I was stupid for thinking other wise.

"God, you can’t seem to stay away from me, can you?"

[officertorres]

I can't be nice?

[roxie-sullivan]

"No I don’t want to talk about it. I’m fine. What did you want to drink?"

[officertorres]

Are you sure you're fine? Why won't you take a second? My drink can wait.

She turned, not being able to look him in the face as she would tell him the most likely disappointing news. “I’ve been taken in by the Lost after saving one of their members life. I’m a doctor for them, but I fear that with what I’ve done, they’ll throw me out. Some might think I know much about the Lost or their leader, and that assumption will bring me in grave danger.”

[officertorres]

Warren looked at Hazel in disbelief. He swallowed hard actually afraid for her, wondering how she got tangled into this mess in the first place. She seemed so sweet as if she lived a normal life like him. "What did you do?" He asked, trying to be optimistic about the situation. That whatever happened to her could be fixed. 

[dessie-kneel]

You’re allowed to be upset, Warren. Scream at me, tell me how terrible I am, go ahead. Whatever will make you feel better. I’m not going anywhere. I have no where else to be.

[officertorres]

I'm not going to yell at you. It's just hard to believe that when you up and left and now you're looking for a new job. I didn't even hear one word about it from you. I thought we were friends.. or.. I don't know something more special than that. We would talk about all kinds of things and now it's like we don't know each other anymore. I just want things to go back to where they were. Before we kissed and everything else.

Okay great. Why does it feel like everything is wrong?

Maybe I'm still alittle upset I dont know. I just don't like the idea that you may dip out on me again.

She knew that coming here meant she couldn’t shake it off and tell him she couldn’t say anything. Warren was her friend, she trusted him with anything, yet.. “If I tell you, you have to promise to tell no one. No one.”

His head nodded, letting go of her hand. He prepared himself for the worst as he agreed. "I promise"

She was immensely glad he was home, stepping inside when he welcomed her in. Despite the warmth of his house, she was still trembling of the cold, arms folded around her torso as she walked in. "I'm in trouble, Warren. I've been digging my grave without knowing it and they are grabbing the shovels to close it." She spoke, panic set in her voice. "I didn't have anywhere else to turn to."

Warren could see the worry on her face. His stomach felt tight, a strong bad feeling building inside of him. After she spoke, he locked the door. Taking her hand, confused and worried about what she said. "Hazel. Hey." he said reassuringly. "I can't help if you stay so vague. Who are you in trouble with? What happened?"

Farah was startled by his words. She’d sat down to a drink to ease her nerves over her audition, to relax and in many ways revisit her memories, her past, her relationship with this town. The romantic that she was, even she had a few things about Fontana that she remembered fondly, things other than the feeling she’d got when she’d left it. She’d had her first kiss in this little town her first boyfriend, her first heartbreak. A lot of firsts, a lot of pain, a lot of things she’d never trade in for anything else. So when she’d spoken to the man next to her, her words had been propelled by her own memories, her own feelings.

She felt gutted, cold all over when he’d mentioned a tombstone. That wasn’t the kind of loss she’d been referring to, had never even dreamed of, really. She mentally chastised herself for being so naive, so inexperienced and unseasoned in the ways of pain, and yet so loud about her own heart, her own life. “Oh my God,” she says, reaching out to grip his hand. She shakes her head with disbelief and some shame, “I’m an idiot. A complete and utter jackass. I’m sorry I didn’t…think. I never think.” She looks at him, puppy dog eyes on his and asks, “You loved her very much, didn’t you?”

He knew he shouldn't of said it, but it was the truth. Liquor was hold the reins to his mouth instead of his mind and it slipped out so easily. Probably because he held it in so long. He let her grip his hand, not really saying anything or acting as if he knew that she did. He couldn't look at her, he had to gather himself a little more. "It happens" He said with a shrug. 

His next drink finally came and he took it quickly. Finding the strength to look at her. It hurt seeing slight bliss in her eyes. Something he rarley saw in his own sister. "I did" He said nodding his head. "I felt like I was cheated out of something really special"
