He wouldnât leave her alone and Haeun was starting to get ANGRY. She wasnât particularly sure why her feelings were so heightened on today of all days, but even while drinking a flat coca cola she was ANXIOUS. Though, being a detective meant she couldnât really rest. Perhaps it was the adrenaline, or the shitty music which made her finally face her fears and approach the other. But Haeun crosses her arm, stares at him and clenches her fist. âI know you think I shouldnât be investigating this case, but I know what Iâm doing --- so why can't you just trust me?â
Sirens flash in the distance as Haeun chases the criminal on foot, breath visible against the cold air, but a single slip causes her to lose her balance and she ends up on the ground, pain surging to her head. But this isnât what causes her to cry out: âDoes the universe HATE me?!â No, itâs the heavy feeling of defeat --- until footsteps nearby automatically subdue her voice as she looks up to the cloudy night sky. âIâm sorry...I didnât mean to be so....loud.â
Itâs 2 am when she finally reaches the door of his apartment, mumbling to herself about the new case sheâd become entangled with. Her witnesses were useless, the one lead theyâd found ended up being a red herring and somehow Haeun felt as if she was back at the beginning. Still, in times of stress, she knew she could count on her best friend to help her out, mainly concerning matters of food. And so, she gently knocks on the door, voice unusually soft. âHyungmin...are you awake? Do you....do you have any left over chicken? Iâm hungry.â
       âYOU KNOW ??â she started, leaning forward to prop her head up with a hand, âthe one thing i regret not doing is punching that guy out the gym.â she said, âit would have taught him a lessonâŠâ
âOh I wouldnât worry about him.âHaeun lets out a DRY laugh, absentmindedly tapping her fingers against the table, eyes drifting towards the various people running outside. âI always feel as if fate has a funny way of dishing out payback.â She smiles gently, âbesides, he isnât worth even a second of your time. Next time Iâll push him off the treadmill if it makes you happy. âÂ

Haeun was born to two parents who had normal office jobs in Ilsan
until around the age of 10, when both her parents lost their jobs due to cuts in the company
unemployed and bordering on homelessness - her parents decided to take part in illegal businesses such as drug dealing and her mother become an escort.Â
this eventually led to them going into debt and becoming drug addicts
from a young age Haeun had always taken care of herself, and she was the one who reached out to social services, feeling no remorse for her parents.Â
It was this experience of her childhood which made her so obsessed with justice, she was willing to rat out her own parents because theyâd crossed the line
right and wrong, in this regard, became an instrinsic part of her.
social services took her in - she was put with a foster family and eventually they adopted her.Â

throughout school she was a class representative and later went on to a top-tier university studying criminal science. During this time at university, she became notorious for her investigative skills, even uncovering a murder which had been labelled a suicide.Â
It was this that made her stand out upon graduation and, after interning the previous few summers during university; she was selected as a detective in the police department.
Haeun is relatively new to the job, but this does not mean she has not already proved herself and she almost always works overtime.
PERSONALITY:
Kind to everyone but always suspicious, the type of person who is always watching and making judgements. Sheâs sociable when sheâs not working, but often can appear distant and cold hearted to those who she sees as liars or even suspicious. Haeun is very good at understanding people, though she doesnât particularly convey strong emotions, her logic is what makes her extremely intelligent. She will play the facade constantly to make you trust her only to betray you to the system - and will feel no regret about it.Â
If you donât betray her trust and stay on her good side, she will be the best friend you could ever have. But if youâre someone who does illegal things or even misuses the system, she will stop at nothing to put you in jail.Â
