"Hey sleepy head," Osman grins, setting the try down beside her as he seats himself on the bed, freshly made breakfast plated nicely on the tray for her. "Thought you'd be hungry when you woke up so I fixed you some food."
"hey, handsome." through squinted lids, she looked at the tray that was just put down beside her and a smile stretched across her features. "you would think i'd be used to this," she pointed to the food, dark brown hues looking up to meet with his. "by now. i am hungry, thank you for this. have you had a busy morning so far?" a slight quizzical raise of her brow followed the question. with everything that had happened at the mikaelson ball, she knew he would have his hands full following the announcement. she had just hoped they would allow them to have the morning together before it started.
As always, Gia arrived fashionably late. After all, she wasn't here to have fun -- she was here to work. And while working in high heels and a corseted dress was not an ideal setup, it did come with ridiculously expensive champagne and a possibility of running into her daughter, a classic 'win-some-lose-some' situation.
Few smiles are presented to the camera before she walks in, and without an atom of concern, confusion or desire to engage, she will walk through the centre of the room with guards at all sides and find herself a seat. "I didn't miss anything important, did I?" @exitiumstarters
she'd gotten the text letting her know that gia was on her way, and luckily it came right in time. she swiftly exited the conversation she was having with the boring and wildly inappropriate school superintendent. she arrived to the front entrance as soon as gia had, a smile gracing her lips as she watched the woman work the cameras before she walked side by side with her through the room. "you look gorgeous, my friend. no, not much. we're all just waiting for the big speech we know is bound to happen. i was starting to wonder if you'd ever join us."
He can see her off in the distance, stuck in a conversation with someone just as he was, not that he was paying any attention to whatever the other was saying to him. His attention was focused on the brunette across the room and only her before curtly excusing himself as she begins making her way over and he’s following her movements, closing the distance that separated them. “Am I,” Osman questions, playful hint of a smile tugging at his lips. “There’s many things that I can think of to keep you attention. Like this.” He’ll place a gentle kiss to the back of her hand. “Or this.” One to her cheek. “Maybe this.” The words are low as he leans in to place his lips against her own, an arm moving to wrap around her waist and pull her in closer to his frame. “Or we could dance,” the hybrid offers. “Because you look absolutely breathtaking and I feel like I should absolutely be showing you off right now.”
"oh." the soft exclamations left her lips as he peppered kisses against her skin, and as the last one fell against her lips, she leaned into it. cordelia has spent a long time focusing on her work and keeping her dating life casual that she's forgotten just how nice it was to be appreciated in the way that osman showed her she should be. a hum left her lips as he pulled her in, and one of her hands settled against his chest. "i'd love to dance with you, i think i might be able to squeeze you in around midnight for the last dance." a laugh shook through her as she teased him, only to smooth his tie as her laughed faded, leaving behind a cheeky grin. "if that's your plan then the others will just have to wait, because you are looking too handsome in this suit to let it go to waste."
"I'll gladly pay," he replied as he handed her the glass of wine meant for his now disappeared date. "Shame though, she seemed nice - but I'm not complaining with the new date partner I have, I suppose" he jokingly said
"you sure about that? i'm not cheap." cordelia noted while taking the offered glass of wine. "if someone shows they don't want your company, it's never a shame. the shame would have been her wasting your time. i'm sure we could find you someone else here tonight that would love to take her spot."
Ellis was absolutely using the masquerade as an opportunity to snoop around the compound, even securing himself a cloak room hook-up to pass the time and save himself from forced conversation. However, despite the very clear inference on the invitation for the future of the city and the OEA moving forwards, he had no intention of bending the knee to the tyrant hunters of New Orleans.
“I suppose nothing screams a party louder than cocktails and coercion” he grumbled abandoning his search and admiring a tapestry hanging on the wall. "As psychotic as they might be, I can’t deny that they have impeccable taste.”
standing back, she watched as he searched the room and all of the cabinets, actively making her job harder as he did. the only comfort was in that she and the pr company she worked for would never be out of job as long as he was with them. even though she was clocked in for this conversation that didn't mean she wasn't highly amused by it. "madden, please, look where you are at. you don't have to love what is going on but now is the time to put yourself out there and network-- not snooping around the whole place." reaching out, and taking hold of his wrist cordelia didn't wait for any kind of protest before pulling him out of his hiding space. "come on, we don't need anyone seeing you like this."
"Consider this a warning," she whispered into the other's ear, hand grasped tightly around their wrist - tight to the point that slight cracking could be heard - before letting it go and taking her heel off of their foot. "идиот" she muttered as she walked next to the bar and ordered a glass of red wine. "I forgot just how charming people can be" she mused to no one in particular
Growing up in the world she did, around all of her fathers business partners and white collar activities, she learned from an early age to mind her own business. This was coming in clutch as she ignored what was happening close by between the girl and the man who overstepped. Cordelia, while not a fan of violence, was actually quite proud of her for using her voice and standing up for herself. When she had returned, Corey cleared her throat to gain her attention after taking a sip of her white wine. "Beautifully said, and done."
He grabbed two glasses of champagne from a passing server as he finished dancing with someone before handing one to them. Turning when he felt like he heard his name, he brushed it off as him hearing things. Turning back to his dance partner, though, he found them gone. "Well damn," he said with a sigh, "now this is awkward"
"We have to stop finding ourselves in this situation." It's was clear, written on her face, that she was just teasing the man as she stepped in to take the missing dance partners place. "Next time I have to swoop in, I might charge you for it."
She had been conversing with an old client, engaged in topics of the art they bought and the art they hope to find when someone appeared in her eye line a little ways in the distance, behind her clients shoulder. She did try to keep it as professional as she could, a polite smile in his direction to acknowledge him as cordelia listened to the girl in front of her. The feat had been quite successful until he began catching her eye in more exaggerated ways. A laugh fell from her lips soon, followed by a quick apology. Cordelia excused herself from the conversation and moved around her client to close the distance between her and the hybrid. "You're ridiculous, you know that, right?" She quipped, not able to keep the smile off of her face at the display he had just made. "You've got my attention now. What do you plan to do to keep it?" Challenging her boyfriend with a taunt and a slightly arched brow, and she was sure that he could see it even now beneath the mask.
Was it just him? Was he so old that he was out of touch with whatever this guy was telling him? Probably. And maybe it was the utter look of confusion or him being pitied but when he saw a person walk by, he let out a cough - loud enough for them to hopefully turn around. Eyes pleading with them to do something, he offered the guy talking to him an awkward smile, the silence deafening at this point
she almost kept on walking but the plea in his eyes after trying to catch her attention truly was hard to ignore. with a small smile she turned and approached the young male who seemed stuck in an unwanted interaction. "hey, there you are!" she exclaimed, giving her best performance. "i'm so sorry to interrupt but i'm going to have to steal him away." an apologetic look crossed her face as cordelia spoke to the other man, without waiting for an answer she pulled him away from the conversation. "you know you didn't need me to exit that interaction, right?" she teased him once they were out of earshot.
"I feel like an old man trapped inside a young man's body," Osman admits softly, faint laughter following his words as his gaze falls on the femme beside him, digits still toying with the phone in his hand. "I mean don't get me wrong, I know how to use a cell phone but these? Why's it so complicated?"
"on the brightside, if you're going to feel like an old man trapped inside of a young man's body--" she spoke as her dark hues traveled his frame, her hand soon following to motion in his direction. "that is not a bad body to feel trapped in." she taunted him and flashed him a grin while letting the silents fill the air between them. the brunette stepped to his side, leaning over his shoulder slightly to sneak a peek of his phone screen. "what's confusing you? maybe i can help."
"That's always how they get you." Avery replied with a chuckle. "All I know is that I'm going to have one upset kid if I don't win him that giant purple leopard. Even though we know I'm the one who is going to be dragging it around for the rest of the night." she let out a sigh. "The things we put ourselves through for our kids."
"i know, but i prefer to tell the story of a found super skill. it'll be a better for conversations." corey chuckled, her eyes moving from the stuffed animal in her hands, to the other woman, and then to the giant purple leopard. "well, i don't have any kids but i do have younger siblings. it's not really the same but i do know that we can't have an upset kid. let me help. i'm sure together, one of us is bound to win it at some point."
