sorry I haven’t been around! I’ve been making masks (over 60 at this point) for people, plus working full time (from home luckily) but between those two things I haven’t had much energy to write. I’m allllllllmost done with all of my masks though, and once they’re done I should be able to actually write some stuff!

They smelled SWEET, enough to warrant a soft smile from her before she turned on her heels, beckoning for him to follow after her. “Well, Jaskier, whichever you prefer, I don’t truly mind. Either is better than the COLOURFUL names the villagers have granted me.”
Settling the flowers in a jug, deft fingers running over the petals and stems. Far better than any roses. “Oh, what did they tell you I would do if you displeased me?” Trill of laughter as she slunk off to change. Quick to return in a silken skirt and blouse, hands resting on her hips. “I would eat you alive? Tear out your heart? I much prefer venison, my dear.”
He mirrors her smile, and follows her quickly inside. The scent of lavender is stronger even inside the home, which he finds rather modest for a goddess to be living in. ‘ Something like that, yes, ’ he says, idly looking around the place while she changes clothes. ‘ That’s quite a relief to hear, actually. Not that their warnings scared me much -- if they had, I don’t suppose I’d be here. ’ His eyes flick up and down her body as she reappears in the doorway. She had been tough and imposing back at the inn, but still beautiful and feminine; now he looked at her wearing her flowy silks and smelling of flowers, he wondered how anyone could feel hatred toward such a beauty. ‘ Might I ask why the villagers would say such things? ’

“Yeah,” She said as she turned her head and looked at Jaskier. Despite not having any magic, nor being good with a sword or otherwise, Jaskier was the one who had the heart. She smiled as she reached over, touching his palm. “Well, your stories and songs are always a heart lifter. But you just being here is nice. It helps to know not everyone hates mages,” She reached her hand over to get her mug, taking a sip of her drink. “Are you alright? I haven’t spoken to you in months,”
‘ No, I certainly don’t hate mages, ’ he says, and he gives her a warm little smile. The smile fades almost immediately as she asks how HE is; it’s a bit of a difficult question, or an awkward one at least. It’s not been a month since he’s last seen Geralt, since they chased after that dragon in the mountains. ‘ I’m... I’ve been better. ’ He forces a sincere looking smile, not the first time he’s had to do so. ‘ Haven’t we all? ’

She almost rolls her eyes in amusement. “I don’t plan on stealing your organs, I got plenty here just waiting to be collected.” Motioning to the bandits. “I mean, it would be nice to collect organs from a healthy donor, but you take what you can get these days.” He holds out one of his hands, generating a portal underneath some of the bandits, their bodies instantly disappearing through them. They’ll be stored away to prevent any more deterioration until he needs them, Quill got her meal so she’’ll be good for a while.
“Now what’s a bard like you doing out here all by your lonesome? I thought you people like to travel with others to prevent something like this from happening.”
Jaskier was no stranger to all manner of magic by this point; the disappearance of the bodies into a mystic light in the ground did not faze him -- it was their intentions with the bodies that unnerved him. Were they even fully dead yet? He shuffles his feet uncomfortably, both at the situation and the question at hand. ‘ I... ’ he stutters, wringing his hands together. ‘ I... happen to be in the market for a new companion, as it were. ’

He takes in a sharp breath, and uses a damp rag to clean a trickle of blood making its way toward his elbow. ‘ You could try to be a little gentler, you know, ’ he says with a frown. ‘ I do have some feeling left in my arm. ’

She HAD been enjoying her bath, soaking up the heat and soft scent of lavender. Long hair carefully braided back, adorned with sweet flowers and feathers. Peaceful, until the ringing voice roused her from the daze. She had been tempted enough to ignore it and sink further into the water until the soft call of her title. Well, FUCK. Was he here to kill her? Beg for some ridiculous wish that she had no power, nor will, to grant? “Give me a MOMENT.” Pulling herself from the tub, pining for the heat of the water the moment the fresh air hits her skin.
Swinging the door open, arm resting to the frame as she stared down at the bard, brow raised. Comfortable enough to stand in her underwear, no bother in getting dressed further in the hopes she could return to the bath. “No room at the inn after what happened earlier?” A purr of a laugh, eyes narrowing with a tilt of her head. “My name is Sarah. Or Skolkulv, since you want to call me by my title.”
Jaskier is about to knock and call again when he hears her voice ring through the air. He stops, and waits. His eyes widen in surprise and delight at the sight of her in her underthings, skin still damp, the smell of lavender wafting through the air and filling his lungs. He smiles, and leans his shoulder against the doorframe. ‘ I shall call you whatever you please, my lady, ’ he says in a soft voice, a smile pulling at his lips. ‘ And you can call me Jaskier. These are for you, ’ he adds, extending the flowers to her. ‘ I haven’t tried to inn yet, but if you’re offering me a bed... well, I don’t suppose I should do anything to displease the gods. ’
