“ Funny you should mention that, ” Bucky couldn’t help the laugh that tumbled from his lips, “ they’ve already got an exhibit on Capsicle and I. ” It was effortless to be around her, something he appreciated with all things considered. “ That’s what we were made for, isn’t it? ” Bucky’s tone shifted, his body stiffening visibly. If anyone would understand his troubled past, it would be Natasha. 

natasha rolled her eyes teasingly at the male, “oh yeah, i completely forgot all about that,” she hummed before sighing in defeat as she looked up at bucky with a slight raise of one side of her mouth, “we were made for a certain thing only. but we have both been given chances to be better than what we were,”

honestly when she lectured him like this; all he heard was the noise the adults in Charlie Brown made. “God, Nat… when have you become my mother? It’s weird and unwelcomed.” He teased, making a disgusted look on his face.

natasha rolled her eyes as she pilled away from clint’s embrace, “that is just a horrible comparison, barton,” she shook her head in amusement, “most definitely unwelcome. especially since the things i have seen and done”

“ Come on, doll. Even I enjoy Stranger Things, and I’m a walkin’ fossil. ” It was rare for Bucky to be so undeniably himself, as there were few people he truly trust. Natasha was certainly one of the privileged few. “ I’m sure a fight’s comin’ soon enough. ”

“i forget that sometimes. i am surprised the smithsonian hasn’t come to study you that,” she teased with a wiggle of her eyebrows, ignoring the fact that she was only a few years younger than bucky, “there’s always a fight coming. i can not remember a time where i have not been preparing for one.” she spoke honestly, slightly sobering up.

it was good to see natasha smile; it was a sight that bucky thoroughly enjoyed. “ i don’t think this upside down, mirror dimension shit was on anyone’s list. ” he teased. “ my question is, what are we doing to get out? truth be told, i’m itchin’ for a fight… ”

“we should come up with an original name, not one that reminds me of a tv show,” the russian spider grinned, teasing the male right back before laughing, “well, you know i have never been one to turn down a good fight but at the moment, i have found no one to blame.”

an arm gently wrapped around her waist as she asked that question. A softened sigh left Clint before that rare smile that only Nat had ever seen was present on his face. “I missed you. That mission I was on, I felt like I wouldn’t come back….I miss the days we went on missions together. You always made sure I didn’t do something stupid…”

nat rolled her eyes at the male before playfully pinching him on the side, “you always happen to not judge your surroundings too well. one of these days you are going to hurt yourself worst than usual.”

The smile faded from her face and for a moment there was just regret and longing. It had only been recently that she’d found Thor again and he’d told her of what had happened to their home while she was gone. “… It was beautiful. A true golden city,” she said, pausing for a moment. “It is gone now…”

She mustered somewhat of a smile, despite how sad the grieving Asgardian still seemed. “Truly,” Sif agreed. “I do look forward to fighting at your side someday. You are with the SHIELD?”

natasha offered a sad smile to the other, “it would have been amazing to see honestly,” she mused honestly, a rarity for the russian before shaking her head, “i kind of just work for fury after the whole pierce thing.”

“Let’s just stick with your fossil jokes, Natasha.” Steve counters with a chuckle, holding his hands up in defeat. “Oh I know you do. It’ll take more than that to fool me though, you know that.” His expression softens, a smile spreading across his face. “You’re not all that scary, you know.”

she rolled her eyes playfully before hitting her fist into his arm, “what exactly would it take, steve?” the russian spider asked curiously as she batted her eyelashes. “what gives you that idea?”

The Asgardian smiled softly, a look of nostalgia on her face for the home she missed at the mention of it’s name. “From Asgard, yes,” Sif responded. “It is an honor to meet another woman warrior… I have only seen cellphone videos on the internet of you, but I know you are skilled. A friend of Thor’s is a friend of mine.”

“what is it like there? i have always been curious about it.” the russian mused with a nod of her head before a soft smile appeared on her face, “we need all the women warriors we can get. i think we are going to get along well.”

bucky couldn’t help the soft smile that formed on his lips at the sight of natasha, admiring her hesitant smile. “ easier to get away if no one knows you’re there, huh? ” he was half-joking. “ been worse, so i can’t complain. and you? ” he added, running his flesh hand through his unruly locks.

“you know it,” she hummed with a slightly warmer smile as she closed the book on her lap, “honestly, i could say the same as you. but i can’t say being trapped in an upside down world was on the top of my ‘things to do’ list.” she joked, with a slight raise of one shoulder.

“Aw c’mon, those are nothing compared to yours.” He throws back with a laugh, though he’s sure Natasha would like some of his jokes, even if only for the novelty. An amused smile appears on his face as he pats Natasha’s shoulder gently. “I wouldn’t dare, Romanoff. It’s our little secret.”

“you would be surprised. gimme your best shot, old man,” she grinned brightly, hands on her hips, “i would hope so but i just like to keep people on their toes,” she teased, “i got to keep up my scary reputation somehow.”

having spent a considerable time in cyrogenic freezer and even longer under mind control, there were few scenarios that actually concerned bucky. and being stuck in some alternate reality with a motley crew of heros and villians wasn’t one of them. regardless, he wondered if an escape plan was being formulated and what his role would be. if there was fighting, he’d obviously have a role. at the realization that he wasn’t alone, bucky chuckled. “ sorry i didn’t see ya’ there, too caught up in my thoughts. ” he offered. 

the russian spider looked up from her book before offering a slightly hesitant smile to the other as she listened to him speak, “it’s okay. i kind of like being a part of the background sometimes. let’s me relax.” she spoke truthfully, “how are you?”

Steve’s glad to see her laughing and smiling despite the challenges they’re facing. That’s something they’ve always been able to find together - a comfort and ease between them that Steve knows he’ll always trust. “I dunno Nat, I’m not sure my jokes are really your style.” He says with a grin as he draws her in, giving her a tight hug. “Did you miss me? Wow, I feel special.”

“i am sure you have some good jokes you used back in your prime,” she teased, pulling back softly with a slight scrunch of her nose as she narrows her eyes playfully at the taller male, “no comment, but if you tell anyone, i will hurt you, rogers.”

Sif cocked her head slightly, giving the woman a once over. “No… I’m sure I recognize you. You are named after the poisonous spider, are you not? The Black Widow?” She offered a small polite smile and made her way over. “I go by my mortal name ‘Sybil Chambers’ while on Midgard. However, you are of the SHIELD and you have fought with Thor. You may know me as Lady Sif.”

“that would be correct,” the russian nodded her head as she rested her chin on her palm, “ah, i am guessing you are from asgard?” she guessed before giving them a slight smile, “pleasure.”

“you know that i’d never to that natasha.”

nat grinned as she shrugged on shoulder up, “well, it is good for it to be confirmed, you know.”

Clint hummed softly at her words, looking over at her. “Perhaps and also.” the archer leaned in, clashing his lips against the woman’s. He felt like he hadn’t seen her in forever; having been on a mission for a few days.

nat kissed the male gently back before pulling away with a raise of her eyebrow as she looked at clint, “well, that was an interesting also. what brought that on?”
