it wasnât often he ventured into the frozen yogurt store now-a-days, both because he wasnât a huge frozen yogurt, or any sweet thing for that matter, fan and because he knew the place was a favourite place of certain girl heâd rather not allow his thoughts to linger on anymore than he had to. the last thing he really wanted was to run into her. it had been a year or two, he wasnât entirely sure, but her features still brought up far too many things he refused to face head on. but the stock of grab nâ go tubs kept in the freezer in his apartment was running low and since his schedule was far less hectic than his roommates, he thought it was only fair for him to be the one to go.Â
stepping into the store, luciano flashed a smile at the girls behind the counter as the cheery greeted met him the moment heâd put on foot in the door. he made a beeline for the grab nâ go tubs, in and out. itâs all he needed. but after selecting the few tubs and he turned back around. his eyes fell upon the reason he avoided this store in particular.Â
he froze, his eyes focused directly upon features heâd once known far too well. his mind started to run a million miles an hour, go over there? turn and walk to the counter like heâd never seen her? and even though the latter was the much more appealing option, he cursed himself. what was he, a god damn child? he could survive an awkward encounter. so with three freezing tubs tucked in his arms, he slowly approached her table.Â
a brow rose as he came to a stop a meter or so away, âyou still addicted to this place then, thought someone would have thrown a âhelp cĂ©line get off menchiesâ, convention by now.â
despite surviving the past few years with luciano out of sight and out of mind , cĂ©line canât help but find herself distracted by him. as he goes to the freezer , she watches him from the corner of her eye , tucking a strand of hair behind her ear to get a better look. he looks like heâs done well for himself throughout the years.
sheâs tried her best to keep up with him afterwards. it wasnât intentional -- not at first , at least. but after their break - up , she couldnât help but look for his face in magazines. it became difficult after he stopped acting , and when she looked back on the unfinished scrapbook hiding inside an unpacked box in her basement , she noticed he never looked too happy in any of the glossy magazine pages. but , those were ghosts of the past.
â theyâve tried. â she says , attempting to smile at him. with a shrug , she follows up , â didnât work. â cĂ©line grapples to say something to him -- anything. she scans his profile ; taking in whatâs the same , what isnât. the thee tubs under his arm look new. â wow. three tubs ? and i have a problem ? â
