hi, i’ve kinda been putting this off but i know it’s time to post this. i'm sad that this group of lovely people went inactive and i really hoped and tried my best to make it work, but i guess it just wasn’t meant to be. i’m deeply sorry and i just wanna say thank you to everyone who was a part of it, even if it wasn’t for very long.

“oh yeah, i’d be on some harry potter shit. except not really, ‘cause he’s pretty lame. i’d be on some neville longbottom, dean thomas shit. it’d be tight,” kye rambles for a moment. his eyebrows raise at the mention of shots and all he can say is: “hell yeah. got a place in mind? if not, i know a place a few streets down.”
“you’re so very right, harry really is lame. i aspire to have as much fun with magic as luna lovegood, she always seems to have a mighty good time. either her or bellatrix,” she nodded as she spoke, agreeing with herself. at his question, she shook her head before she smiled brightly, “knew i could count on you to know a place. let’s go! the first round’s on me!” she announced as she made random hand gestures before she began walking, not even sure where the bar was located.

“i mean, hey, i’m doing that right now, ain’t i?” kye asks before looking down at his nonmoving legs. “well, minus the walking.” the innocuous claim of flirting is followed by an oh-so-attractive bite of his burrito. “but you got my undivided attention now,” he says after he swallows. “so what’s up? want a bite?”
“add the walking and you’ll be in danger again,” she warned him jokingly as she pointed at him, still smiling amusingly. she watched him, raising both her eyebrows at his words, “great. nothing, really.. simply wanted to try and avoid you crashing into someone, primarily me,” she responded with a small shrug before she nodded eagerly, “you and i both know i can’t possibly say no to food, so .. yes, please,” she grinned over at him, making grabby hands at the burrito.

“you know what they say, right? no good deed goes unpunished,” kye replies with a small smirk. he looks her up and down before half jokingly stating, “i think you’ve been blessed enough.” a pause and then, “nah, jokes. sorry that happened to you though. maybe we could start a prayer circle to bring your umbrella back.”
sophie pulled a confused face at his words, not sure if she was supposed to be offended or not. “wait, what?” she inquired after he had looked her up and down, her confusion only deepening as their conversation went on. “don’t think a prayer circle will bring it back, but i’d love to try. honestly, these are the days i really wish i was a witch. black magic would definitely help in a case like this,” she stated before a deep sigh fell from her lips, “guess i’ll never see my umbrella ever again. i think i’ll go drown my sorrow with a few shots, wanna join?”

you know your boy’s got a chipotle burrito in hand. the meal gave kye a pep in his step as he walked down the street, taking a bite of it and making exaggerated cheerful motions to passerbys. being so excited, he didn’t notice an incoming collision. quickly spinning to save his food, he looked up at the other. “STOP, you almost made me drop my burrito!”
sophie couldn’t help but laugh softly at his accusation, shaking her head in disbelief that he tried blaming their almost-collision on her. “are you kidding me? i tried capturing your attention for like two minutes but you were too busy giving your burrito heart eyes,” she defended herself with an amused smile, gesturing to the food he was holding. “i mean, i get it.. it’s a beautiful burrito, but walking, eating and flirting is quite the dangerous combination.”

The blonde chuckled at the brunette’s comment. “Romans 8:18 — the pain you’re feeling is nothing compared to the joy that’s coming.” She stated, before offering her umbrella to the girl. “I needed to tell myself that—always. So much so, I even got it tattooed on me. I usually don’t bask in tattoos, but this one was an exception.” She smiled softly. “But in all honesty, I have a hard time trying to figure out why bad things happen to good people. I simply answered it by saying ‘maybe i’m paying for the sins that I don’t remember.’” She laughed at her questions of church. “That’s always an option.”
though she had no idea what bella was saying, she gladly accepted her offer and stepped underneath it to avoid getting even more wet, “thank you. you’re an angel, bells,” she replied with a soft smile before she tilted her head as the girl began talking again. “wow, that was quite deep. i usually don’t ask to see people’s tattoos but.. may i see yours?” nodding slowly, sophie began playing with the hem of her wet jacket, “hmm, the sins that i don’t remember.. well, i guess i’ve got a couple of those, even though i don’t consider myself a sinner,” her last few words were mumbled as she shrugged lazily. “you really think so? even if i’ve never actually been to church before?”

elijah still can’t quite believe he’s agreed to spend his christmas HERE of all places ( only agreed because he knew the company would undoubtedly make up for everything else. ) and he’s not a scrooge, doesn’t spit bah humbugs! into the snow or burn all the presents under the tree. but, he’s not exactly delighted at his current situation, would much rather be within the comfort of his own, undecorated, household.

for as long as sophie remembered, christmas had never really felt like a proper holiday to her. due to the fact that her mother refused to celebrate it and her father simply didn’t care enough to celebrate it, the girl had found herself being alone almost every year. growing up, it really hadn’t been a big deal to her but after one too many people pitying her, the girl had decided to stop telling the truth about it. instead she made up a story about her family celebrating it big.
although she wasn’t familiar with it, she still liked the idea of christmas and therefore loved being a part of santa’s village. clad in her elf uniform, sophie made her way through the park, her destination being the café. she could be found there during most of her breaks, especially when it was a certain handsome male's shift. working with a friend always made it more fun; working with elijah always made it the most fun. “a noose.. yeah, definitely! i don’t see why not. though, it would be way more impressive if you’d create a reindeer or the mona lisa,” she replied with a nod before she offered him a wide grin, “you’re not in a grinch mood today, are ya?” she questioned, gently poking his arm before she began making herself a hot chocolate.

i know everyone is super busy with school right now and that’s totally fine because school (and any rl issues) should always be put first! hence why i’m not going to reopen any spots or do an activity check. i really like this group and even though it’s not all too active right now, i don’t want to close it. however if anyone, for whatever reason, doesn’t want to be a part of it anymore, please let me know. i don’t want anyone feeling obligated to stay if they don’t want to. that being said, i’m putting the entire group on a semi-hiatus until everyone has more spare time on their hands! we’re still able to reply to threads, post new starters, etc. but without the pressure of having to be active every (other) day!

as orion listened to sophie’s inquiry about a discount for her store, she rolled her eyes playfully and shook her head. “i mean, i guess i could add you to the list. gotta pay me back in something. maybe buy me a coffee every morning, since you’ll probably have the same salary as tony hawk so you won’t have a problem with paying.” she said with a playful wink, now nudging her old friend. “hey, we should hang out sometime soon and catch up. it’s been longer than i realized.”
to try and get orion to say yes, sophie offered her a deep pout before she smiled brightly only a second later at her words, “i’ll take that as a definite yes. i mean, if i gotta pay you back i’m not really saving money, am i? .. but sure, yeah .. a coffee every morning sounds good to me,” she replied with a shrug before she laughed some and shook her head,” i wish my salary was as high as tony hawks! if it was, i wouldn’t need the family and friends discount,” she said and nudged her back. at the suggestion, sophie nodded eagerly and smiled over at her friend, “absolutely! i’d love that very much. it’s kinda been a little too long if you ask me ... i almost didn’t recognize you there for a second,” she joked softly.

Dexter accepts his glasses after a moment of fumbling, squinting before he replies, “Well, I’m more concerned about you… catching a cold, than melting, but… I do agree your are not in fact a sugar woman.” Dexter puts on his glasses then, brow furrowing as he notices the spiderweb of cracks in one of the lenses for a moment before he sighs. It looked like a visit to his optometrist was in order.
“… thanks.” Dexter mumbles worriedly at Sophie’s apology as he takes his glasses off again and moves to wipe them off with a small microfiber cloth in his pocket. It’s a bit damp, but it gets most of the water off and at this point that’s all Dex could ask for. He blinks at Sophie’s offer though, his head flicking back up to meet her eyes as guilt begins to weigh down his stomach, “…you… really don’t have to do all that Sophie, I mean… I don’t want you to feel obligated.”
sophie smiled some, slowly shaking her head, “you don’t have to worry about me. i haven’t had a cold in .. literally forever; i’ll be fine. thanks for worrying, though.” it was nice to know he cared enough for her to be concerned about her getting sick.
watching as he seemed to try and clean his classes, the girl couldn’t help but think back to the last time she spend more than a second with dexter. before she was able to find a memory, his voice pulled her out of her train of thoughts. “i know i don’t have to, and i don’t feel obligated at all. i want to help.. please let me help?” she questioned as she furrowed her brow, really hoping he wouldn’t decline her offer.

“ yup. knew you were a pest straight away. can’t have trouble makers in heaven — you’d throw off the whole balance. it’s why all the fun people are down in a fire pit with satan. i mean, HELL can’t be that bad. at least you’d never be cold. ” he’ll speak matter-of-factly, as if he truly believes what he’s saying, despite not really having much of a clue at all. he’s never been interested in assigning himself a religion; after all, if god created everyone, he probably shouldn’t have made atheists. swallows a laugh around the dreads of golden beer as she suggests another drink, allows the glass to fall to the table with a clink! “ if i didn’t know any better, i’d say you’re trying to get me DRUNK, soph. are you planning on taking advantage of a poor, intoxicated boy like me ?? ”
as she listened to him, she couldn’t help but smile amusingly, enjoying the fact that he seemed to believe everything he was saying. “i know i’m a pest but a trouble maker? nuh-huh, i strongly disagree. that’s all you, eli,” she said with a grin, reaching forward to poke his arm playfully. “aw, you think i’m a fun person? that’s the sweetest thing ever,” she voiced as her grin turned into a soft pout. although sophie was known to deliver compliments left and right, all day every day.. she wasn’t all too fond of receiving one herself, unless it came from the boy sitting opposite from her right now. his laugh along with his words caused her to chuckle softly herself, nodding eagerly without hesitation, “indeed, i am. i want you to be drunk enough for me to pretty much play with you like a puppet on a string,” she joked, slightly lifting her hand off the table and wiggling her fingers around as she offered him a small smirk, “how about a round of shots?”
