OLIVER JACKSON-COHEN // have you met HAN SOLO yet? HE is a THIRTY-THREE year old CIS MALE HUMAN. they’re originally from CORELLIA and now show loyalty to THE REBELLION ( kinda ). they are best known for being a SMUGGLER, and i hear they’re pretty LUCKY yet also SELFISH at times; i hope they survive the galactic civil war. ( Leo, 21+, MST, They/Them )
Howdy there, here is a basic rundown of my version of Han Solo. He's a hybrid of COMICS, THE OG TRIO, and SOME EU. I borrow a lot of aspects of his character from many different sources. Including the newer sequel films, even though that isn't the time where Han has been teleported from. So, if you have a specific question about him, just shoot ( ha ha ha ) me a message! Back to your regularly scheduled programming.
TW: Physical abuse in the past section, nothing graphic is written but it is mentioned.

Han Solo was born on the planet of Corellia to Jonash and Jaina Solo, about ten years before the fall of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Empire. He was orphaned at a rather young age and wound up as a child beggar on the streets of Corellia. However, he caught the eye of a cruel pirate known as Garth Shirke at a local spaceport. Unbeknownst to Han at the time, Shrike had a habit of taking in children into his gang, training them to be nothing more than thieves and pickpockets to help fund his lifestyle. It didn't take Han very long to discover Shrike's physically abusive nature, a "pastime" he seemed to favor with Han in particular. It wasn't all bad, because Han had made a mother-figure in Dewlanna, a Wookiee who served as a cook for the gang. She had raised Solo as one of her own, teaching him Shyriiwook and even, took care of him when he became ill. Han would go on to participate in numerous scams and illegal activities under Shrike's direction, such as asteroid mining and swoop racing ( developing a love of piloting from the latter ).
At 20, Han had grown exhausted from the physical abuse he endured from Shrike and attempted to escape. But he had been captured, escaped again, and Dewlanna sacrificed herself in the process. He honestly didn't know how he would have survived without her, or even the likes of Q'ira, who he met during his time on the streets.
Han and Qi'ra don't have a lot in common other than not having a lot themselves. They were street kids on the industrial planet, after all. And with Han's latest stunt with Shrike . . . He needed all the friends he could get. So they had no choice, but to do whatever it took to get by, even take on similar jobs with the same boss. When a mission to an auction for a portable deflector shield goes wrong, Han and Qi'ra are on the run from pirates, a droid crime syndicate, the Empire, and Lady Proxmia. They both realized they wanted nothing to do with the likes of Lady Proxmia, Shrike, or the White Worms anymore and began planning their escape from Corellia.
They bribed an Imperial officer with a stolen starship fuel, known as coaxium, for passage on a transport. But Qi'ra is captured before she can even board. Han vows to return for her and joins the Imperial Navy as a flight cadet. ( Yes, I am ignoring the fact that someone else names him SOLO. He has always been Han Solo and Dewlanna was the one who told him of his linage. LMAO ). The goal was to become an officer and live what he thought to be a "respectable" life, one that he could come back and support Qi'ra in the ways she deserved.
But, a lot of things can change in three years.
He went on to be an excellent Imperial pilot, graduating at the top of his class as a lieutenant. However, his successful military career was short-lived under Commander Nicholas. Han had been ordered to board a derelict slaving vessel, only to find an unconscious Wookiee inside. The Wookiee had saved the children of its kind from being the ship's cargo, but most importantly from being slaves.
As you can imagine, this hit Han on multiple levels emotionally. He refused to follow orders to shoot down the creature. Resulting in Han and Chewbacca being sent off to work on a construction site on Coruscant as a form of punishment. Even that was short-lived though, because Han stunned Commander Nicholas while escaping. He was then court-martialed and discharged from service.
But this is the beginning of Han Solo's life as a smuggler, a life he now shared with a loyal companion in Chewbacca. He encounters a group of criminals posing as Imperial soldiers, led by Tobias Beckett. Han attempted to blackmail his way in, but Beckett refuses. Not being the type to take no for an answer, a determined Han insists because he doesn't want to miss out on a huge job like this. And so, he and Chewie join the group to steal a large shipment of coaxium on Vandor-1. And truthfully, things seemed to be going well, until . . . They weren't. The plan fails when Cloud Riders lead by Enfys Nest arrive to hijack the shipment. The battle leads to the chaotic destruction of the coaxium and the deaths of two from Beckett's crew. It's in the aftermath that Beckett confesses he was ordered to steal the shipment for Dryden Vos, a crime boss for the Crimson Dawn syndicate. New to the smuggling game, Han doesn't outright see the harm in helping steal another shipment. They go to Vos's yacht where Han encounters his old flame, Qi'ra, now a top lieutenant under a crime lord. And who was Han to judge, r e a l l y ? During the meeting with Vos, Han suggests a risky plan to steal unrefined coaxium from the mines on Kessel; Vos approves, but demands that Qi'ra accompany the team. The group manages to steal the coaxium and Han pilots through an asteroid field to elude an Imperial blockade. They land on the planet Savareen to process the coaxium, which leads to: Beckett double-crossing Han, Qi'ra killing Vos, and Han shooting Beckett. Qi'ra leaves in Vos's yacht, while Han and Chewie give the coaxium to Enfys, who offers Han a chance to join the rebellion against the Empire. He declines, and she gives him a vial, enough to purchase a ship of his own.
Han and Chewie set off for Cloud City, to bet everything they had ( especially the coaxium ) on a big sabacc tournament. He faced Lando Calrissian in the final round, not only winning the credits, but also the Millennium Falcon.
Eventually, the pair came into the employment of the Outer Rim crime lord, Jabba the Hutt, who was based on the desert planet Tatooine and was the leader of the powerful Hutt Clan.
Desperate for credits, Han took a job for Jabba smuggling spice through the Kessel Run. But since Han's got such a way with people, they were sold out to the Empire. Thus forcing Han to drop the cargo and flee, completing the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs. Not too shabby.
Jabba was . . . Understandably furious at the pair for the loss of merchandise. However, he had grown fond of the smuggler and decidedly gave him some time to pay him back in full for the lost spice. And as luck would have it, shortly after that arrangement, Han and Chewie met with an old man and a farm boy for safe passage to Alderaan. And the rest was history...

Honestly, it was down-right l a u g h a b l e how carbonite had a funny way of changing perspective — his perspective, that is. Anyways, he was on Naboo now and it was seemingly more of that Force nonsense at work. G r e a t. He just hopes the Kid, Chewie, Lando, and the Princess, made it out alright.

ᴘᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ:
Some people "might" consider Han's personality to be ━ flawed. The appearance of a cynical, argumentative man willing to fight anything and anyone, but only in it for the money is one of old. A ghost of another life.
“act first, think later.”
( a personal mantra )
Attentiveness to the uncaring nature of the galaxy around makes him a good fighter, able to anticipate enemies' actions ( and shoot first ). Unlike most, he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty or even rubbing elbows with scum, to him it was always about the next job. He's adaptable in dangerous situations and even ( secretly ) enjoys it to an extent. A part-time thrill-seeker, a survivalist by nature. Running dangerous missions, smuggling, and proving that he’s smarter than the people hunting him; it's the only life he's really known.
But his impulsive behavior and quick-decisions often lead him to more trouble than he's bargained for.
Han isn’t afraid to call foul on stupid ideas when he sees them. He is good at finding immediate, rational solutions to problems. He rarely explains his actions, and if he does, he chooses to express himself in as few words as possible. Bare-essentials is what he thrives at. He is good at remaining impartial ( except when bickering with Leia over his ship and . . . Well, everything else ) and making objective decisions.
While daring and self-reliant, when the chips are down Han is as true as steel and will lay down his life for the those he loves cares for. Even though he isn't a paragon of virtue, ( he's not royalty or "chosen" by some mumbo-jumbo cosmic Force ) he's viscerally human and understands his life doesn't mean much in the grand scheme. He knows his selfish behavior ultimately doesn't benefit anyone other than him, and possibly Chewie. But he isn't scared of making the tough call.
He is a firm believer in determining his own fate and overall, despite the many wrongs he has done. He has a good and humane heart.
