Mess || Alex & Ella
Yea, we donât need that happening again.
Yeah. I guess until I get this figured out Iâm going to be a problem anytime something happens.
Carnival of rust / Phil & Ella
There was always something fascinating about people in need. They were curious animals , torn between hope and despair. Orman was one of those people that took advantage of peopleâs misery, their pain was his business, their fragile life, an opportunity to study. He had selected a few poor sools with the good advices of Irene during the day food and supply had been given out by the originals. Now the streets had gone back to their quietness.
The only sound echoing in Philipâs ears was the sound of squeaking swings. On an abandoned square, a child was swinging , unaware of what was happening around it, and it seemed almost out of place. Philip observed, quietly. He was tempted to push the little mind to him. Some things were better tested on children but they were so rare to find these days. His idea was however cut short when he heard footsteps. He lifted his head to see who it was. âAfternoon â he greeted with a discreet smile.
Following the chaos that happened in Times Square, Ella had very much been hiding herself away, mostly afraid that it didnât matter where she was there would always be someone there to attack. And with the greater fear of not being able to control herself in a situation where people needed to defend themselves, Ella found it much more calmer in her apartment. In fact, when she ventured out at all, it was easy to get lost in the crowd and she wasnât sure whether she was alright with that or upset about it.
Honestly she wasnât sure what drew her towards the park today, especially given her timid nature and desire to be alone. She walked like she usually did: head down and trying to be unassuming. The less of a thread she was the less people were to look at her. To notice her. And that was the goal ultimately. To command no attention. Her even breaths were shattered when someone spoke up, and she couldnât say that she was horrified to the good doctor and breathed a sigh of relief when she did recognize him. âOh, hello,â she said managing a small smile. âLovely day, isnât it?â

To the Sky || Damon & Ella
In the weeks following the disaster with the collection of the firearms Damon closed his ranks a bit in the city. He went outside New York to do a little hunting for sport, but now that things were settling down it was time to mark his territory once again. Little Minaâs ploy worked well enough and the Originals came out mostly unscathed. It still bothered him though. Damon didnât like failing especially when it was so clear that the Originals were to blame for the failure. The one plus being the Second Gen performed remarkably well.Â
As he scanned the city from the top of building, he heard someone below just walking by his perch. Damon jumped down from his position and landed right in front of the shadowy figure. âBeautiful night for a stroll.â
Ella wanted to go home. She wanted to steel herself up in her apartment so she wouldnât have to deal with anymore questions about the weapons ban or why the Originals took them. She just was tired of dealing. It all made her quite nervous in the first place, like when theyâd told her sheâd be on collection, and when the explosion sounded and when Philip was pushing a gun into her hands to âdefendâ herself. Ella didnât know how to shoot a weapon.
So it would come, of course, as a surprise when someone decided to drop down in front of her. âThatâs not creepy at all,â she muttered, swallowing her heartbeat while it thumped wildly in her throat.
âYouâre right.â She opened it up, looking through its contents. âI mean, if they didnât notice it was missing already, how valuable could it have been?â
Ella peeked, but didnât invade Lanaâs personal space. âTrue. Youâd think theyâd keep their wallet with them. I guess they werenât concerned enough to pick it up off the ground. So, whoâs it belong to?â
âI wasnât going to say anything, but you look like the kind of person who would have dropped this.â She held out a wallet, âIâd just hate to be the poor guy whoâs missing it.â
Ella patted down her pockets and looked in her bag before she looked back at Lana and shook her head. âNot mine. Thanks though. Iâd hate to be missing mine as well. Though luckily the chips keep us IDâd in case.â
âNo no itâs not taken, you can definitely sit here Ellaâ
âThanks. I mean I could drink this coffee walking down the street but lifeâs simple pleasures are sitting down and itâs easier.â
Mess || Alex & Ella
Iâll have to thank him then for making sure you were safe.
Sure thing. I mean it was either get me out of there or have me freak out and ruin everything, I guess.
âIs there something I can do for you?â
âUm, I just wondered if this seat was taken. But I can go elsewhere...itâs not a...big deal.â
Bad Blood || Natalie & Ella
ââWould you mind if we went to sit in the lobby?ââ Natalie asked a bit rhetorically, already starting to walk there. A part of her needed to check if everyone got back safely, and she needed to see who showed up. It made her feel more relieved. ââTell that to the FMID agents, or whatâs left of them.ââ Natalie snorted with a little scoff, shrugging her shoulders. ââTheyâre after us all the time.ââ She shook her head and released a sigh. ââSometimes I tend to forget about hope when these things happen.ââ She admitted.
âYeah, no--sure thing,â Ella said, following Natalie into the building and letting the door fall shut behind her. The sound didnât echo since there was quite a bit of commotion in the lobby, but Ella followed the other woman. âOh.â Gross, she wanted to add, but it didnât feel appropriate at the moment. âThatâs grotesque.â But Ella had to admit that she often felt like the object of persecution since she was swept up in cahoots with Alex and the rest of the Originals. The Resistance was after them as a whole, and this put her on edge more often than not. âWell, itâll be okay eventually. Even if itâs just for a moment,â she assured Natalie, not sure if she was trying to convince herself or the other woman.
[flashback] Getting By // Zach & Ella
âI swear Iâve been baking more in the last few months than I have in years.â Zach shook his head slightly. Honestly, anything that got him out of his head was a good thing but he most people didnât look at him and see âbaker.â And before living at the Viceroy, itâd been more of a special occasion thing. Made it easy to joke about. âAnyway, thatâs a good way of looking at things.â He nodded, smiling a little. His grin picked up a bit as she put an end to the shooting conversation. âGood, I could do with a book recommendation. Iâm in the middle of âWeather for Dummiesâ and itâs giving me traumatic high school flashbacks. Iâll totally trade coffee for something that doesnât make me want to put my head through a table.âÂ
âThere could be worse hobbies, really,â she admitted with a shrug and a small laugh. Ella had seen people be completely destructive to themselves trying to get out of their heads and she liked to shut herself up and cover a canvas, but there was different ways of coping for everyone and baking was definitely the most productive of the ones sheâd seen. In fact, Ella herself, had locked up in her studio and painted for days after the shooting not even bothering to answer any calls. Instead of delving deeper into the past, Ella listened to his current book choice and groaned. âYouâre reading a poor informative book? You need a good book recommendation. Coffee it is.â
Wonderful Human Being [Flashback] // Ella & Jack
Jack is good with people because he has all the patience in the world. And he could see in Ella a challenge. Not only because she was really tense and he began to think she was a little introvert. Ella was afraid. And how not be afraid in a new world where everything changed, including herself. He had an idea about what was happening about her, but he would like listened from her own lips. He was a lot of work in front. âOkayâŠâ He was trying to cut the ice but he canât push her. He went to the coffee maker and began to search his coffee when he listened the question. âYes, I asked to you come here, because I believed you would like to have an opportunity to ask whatever you want to know.â He told all in a soft voice, still with the eyes in his coffee. âOf course if you want.â He turned to see her. âNothing is an obligation here.â Maybe she should return later, but he opened his door now and he will try to keep it open as long as he can.
To say that Ella was shy wasnât a lie. She was. It took her a while to warm up to change and to new people, but of course she was truly an introvert. And despite the fact that she knew Jack and even somewhat trusted him, she couldnât see herself fancying a stroll up to his office just to chat. Ella wasnât one to do that. But if she was called and a topic was introduced she could make conversation. She wasnât completely antisocial, after all. âI mean, I always have questions...â She let the sentence trail off and folded her hands in her lap. For the most part, her questions had all involved what Jack had first said when sheâd come to see him about the mutations, but how was she even supposed to bring up what happened at the Abbey? It was weird. And Ella didnât even remember all the details clearly. The only thing that was clear still was the way the blood stained his clothes when Zach got shot, and sometimes Ella couldnât get that image out of her head and she would feel panicky all over again (in spite of the event being way in the past). âDo you remember what happened at the Abbey during the reopening?â

Mess || Alex & Ella
That I donât doubt.
So where were you when everything went down?
At least weâre on the same page, Boss.
The City Spire. And then the Viceroy. Well I was in Times Square at first but when the first explosion happened Philip took me to the City Spire. So completely safe. Not even a scratch on me.
