Joshua watched from a short distance, annoyed. Why did they think it was an appropriate thing to ask. He had the small urge to mess with them. To warp their reality. But refrained.âSeems like a perfectly good waste of space to me.â He said, referring to the person.
 It seemed that her reply had discouraged them enough, and with a quiet snort, Anne gives her full attention to the male, arms crossing underneath her chest. â--well, youâve always beenâa little patience. Not a thing wrong with a little dreaminâ righâ s u n s h i n e?â

current plot line.
Formerly the reigning power of New Orleans, Atoinette salvaged the lives of few of her coven members âwhile others fell to the hunts. New Orleans was no longer safe, long known for itâs magic and of course was one of the first places to be purged. In order to survive, Anne and who remained, fled to the immediate âsancutaryâ: Staten Islandâtaking others who would have her underneath her wing. Finding herself yet again in a position of power, in order to regroup and keep her peopleâs safety at a forefront, she has her forces as non participant during the current scuffle between the other supernatural citizens, only becomming active when especially requested by those who seek minimal assitance. facts. â± Antoinette was chosen at the premature age of six for her extrodinary talent, by Marie Laveauâs familiar:the serpent Zombi. For the most part, her asencion was kept secret for fear of her assasination. Coming to sieze the throne at the age of ninteen, those fears were confirmed by the outrage of vast majority of the, then, bustling witching community. The first attempt was nearly successful, resulting in the hesitance of controling the element of water, while excelling as a daughter of earth.
â±There are still small portions of tension throughout the coventary concerning Antoinetteâs ability to control the witching forces from both old and new members. Anne takes it in stride and continues to listen to the qualms of her people to snuff those insecurities.
â± She does not agree with the random attacks the Farkas have been comitting, hoping to avoid further grievences between packs, Anne continues business with the alpha in hopes to get through to her with words over time and end potential outbreaks of war before they begin.

âHonestly, mânot sure what ya want me ta say. Mânot gonna go broke on a spell jusâ so youâll look young enough ta trick or treat darlinâ.â

Greyson lips tightened into a grimace. He nodded once in reply to her apology, still vexed by the indirect accusation, but glad that she was respectful enough to apologize and drop it. He had a difficult time staying angry at Antoinette for more than a few seconds; she was a master of dousing the flames of temper whenever it flared up.
âPretty sure heâs at the diner right now,â Greyson answered, reaching into his pocket to check his cellphoneâs time real quickly. âOther than that, I couldnât really tell you. He hasnât been sticking to his normal schedule. One minute heâs here, the next, heâs gone. I could just be losing my mind â which is probably the most likely possibility at this point.â
âPft,â Anne snorts, a hand running through her hair before pushing herself up to stand. The witch, tall in her right, sashays right over to Greyson, hands falling into the back pockets of her jeans, and finally, looks him dead in eye. âFirst one off the rails wins sweetheart.â For madness, in this day and age, happened to be chasing them all. Making a quiet sound through her teeth before glancing towards the way sheâd come. âMâgonna head out, make sure your werewolf ass getâs some sleep, anâ for Christ sakes, call me if ya need somethinâ.â
Curly-Q
Drawing himself up to his feet, Finn achingly made his way to the door, putting on a fresh shirt since the infected blood had seeped into his other one. âIâm coming! Iâm coming!â He huffed in annoyance. It was probably Layla â but at the same time, she would have easily just come in herself. Throwing open the door, surprise registered in his face. âWhat are you doing here?â
Wow, sheâd thought itâd be another dud. Greysonâs original suggestion of his beta being at the diner hadnât bared fruit. Next guess--well, winner, winner chicken dinner. âUh, hi ta ya too Curly Q.â The witch mumbles. âThought youâd be happier ta see me.â
Grumbly-Grey ;
âIâd never pretend to be a killer,â Greyson replied angrily, the hair on the back of his neck raised from the assumption. âI was raised better than that,â the words left his lips with a confused infliction present in the way he spoke them. He hated to admit it to himself, but what Eva had said had gotten to him. Â He might have killed Gideon to save Finn and the pack, but he hadnât hesitated to do so. He didnât even think twice about it when he heard his neck snap at the spine.
âI want to say heâs fine, but heâs a fucking idiot and isnât resting long enough to give it time to heal the right way,â he said, rolling his shoulders back as he thought about the way Finn reacted when he asked about it. He shook his head when she asked about his state. âNah, Iâm fine. Â I heal a little faster now being an alpha, I guess. Even so, Morgan and Viv have this annoying ability to know when Iâm hurt. Iâve never had a scrape of the knee for more than a day since I was fucking ten with those two around. Donât worry about me. Just take care of Finn if you can.â
 There was a long beat of silence, she always her guilty conscious be her punishment for a few moments. She deserves his angry retort--but Anneâs prod at the sensitive subject, was only because she was worried. Greyson was no murderer, she knew this to be true, but she also knew that because of that, her long time friendâs heart was in danger of breaking. Taking life, turned people into someone else if they let it over time.  âOkay, mâsorry.â And thatâs where it ended. She was finished with pushing him for now, as a leader herself, she knew when it was time to direct her attention to more immediate and easier to handle issues. She would keep Grey in mind as she always did, and allow him his own private time for now to come to terms with his new position before the witch attempted to council him again.  âAll right, Finn just needs a little magic touch,â Antoinette hums, giving her fingers a flex. âWhere can I find that stubborn puppy these days, huh? Good old Curly Cue ainât been answerinâ his phone.â Sheâd know, sheâd tried calling him before leaving Staten to conduct her surprise visit to the man she now held in conversation. Couldnât count on his help these days apparently.
Viv ;
âHmmm, alright, alright.. Iâll whisper softer. Whoa, what exactly is running around in here? Can it bite? â Its definitely not sly enough to get away from two people, much less us. Iâll check the corners over on that side..â
â--Uh, you know just...âAnne gives her hand a wave as though in dismissal. âFire imp. So, watch your fingers...and flamables.â Sure hope Viv hadnât partook in any hairspray usage today, that could be a disaster. âIâll check on the shelves, case itâs hidden up there. Youâre a life saver sweetheart.â
Grumbly-Grey ;
Greyson was quiet while he listened to her, back turned to her while he pretended to be busy with some paperwork that didnât really matter. When her last sentence trailed off, it took him a second to fill in the blanks. He stopped toying with the papers immediately, turning slowly to face her, hesitating once as if he wished he hadnât heard the doubt in her voice. âI thought you knew me better than that,â the wolf said shortly, his tone lowering, offended. His eyes dropped from hers as he shook his head. âGideon lost his fucking mind and tried to kill half the pack. Finn is still recovering,â he continued after a brief moment of silence, but said nothing more on the subject. Â He could have said it was an act of self defense, that it was to save Finn, or that it was for justice, but he didnât. He didnât really believe any of those things.
âYeah, but you always wanna pretend otherwise, so I donât really gotâa choice but ta play dumb, donât I?â So, he could feel ANY type of way he was going to--it was because she knew him, that she was aware of how to get what she wanted, (if if minimal) out of him. When the answer comes, Anne doesnât need him to speak on it anymore than he has. Whether it was self defense or not, that reasoning alone was justifiable enough to hold without uneasiness towards her companion. âDoes he need healinâ? Any one else for that matter? Iâll go see âem when Iâm done with you. Youâre banged up too, aintâcha?â
Kealen
Suppressing an annoyed groan his eyes narrowed, âAnd what is the point?â
GODS help him. âWeâre inâta August now --we all gotta start thinkinâ about prep for  Samhain.â
Grumbly-Grey
âA little respect would be appreciated, though,â Greyson grumbled at her, standing to move away from her. âI donât need anything. It goes without saying who my allies are. We donât need to talk about it.â
âAnd ya got it.â She retorts immediately. âYa got all of it actually, but--â Anne has to pause to collect herself. Getting too emotional would make it more difficult to portray herself professionally. âHonestly, this is where I saw ya. Not exactly like this, but I knew ya were meant tâlead. But ya canât tell me, ya figured out how ta do that already. At least tell me ...âThat he hadnât murdered someone to come out on top. That would be reassuring.
Grumbly-Grey
âYeah, god forbid anyone listen to the alpha around here,â Greyson said bitterly, looking up at her with a challenging glare. âThereâs nothing to talk about. It is what it is.â
âThank Christ mâno wolf, if not, that woulda been valid.â Still, a sigh escapes her. âI know, itâs not gonna change the past, but mâthinkinâ âbout whatâs ahead of ya now. Ya need someone whoâs got your back.â
Viv
âIâm not speaking at a normal voice level?â
âWell, yeah, but thatâs the problem. Weâre aiminâ for whisperinâ âbout now  mon cherie. I, uh, let sumthinâ skitter âround in the ritual room..so weâre gunna have ta fix that. Crafty shit.â
Kealen
âIâm not the one raising my voice.â
âYouâre also not the one, tryinâ ta get straight ta the point here either apparently.â
âWhat do you want?â Greyson asked before the witch had even made it through the door fully. âGo back to Staten Island. Brooklynâs for werewolves.â
âHavenât we known each other long enough for ya ta figure, mâgonna do the opposite Grey?â Anne says as though sheâs puzzled. Taking the seat along side him as though he had invited her presence, the witch gives him a firm look, lips turned downwards. âIf I have ta magic ya, ta get ya to talk ta me, by the gods Iâll do it.â
Theo watches her look through the items on the shelf. Heâs already assuming the worst when she speaks. âThis would be the first time.â He sighed in relief, though the relief is short lived.Â
âHow much is a little more?â He doesnât know who heâs kidding. Not himself. Heâll do without some meals if he has to protect her. Maybe heâs just getting paranoid, but he really does think there is something very bad going on in this city. âIâm definitely interested.âÂ
âFirst for everythinâ,â the witch retorts easily. Eyes move from him to the tailsman, as though to gauge itâs value with but a simple look. âTwenty dollars more sweetheart, itâs already goinâ on three hundred.â Naturally, though itâs business, she feels a little badly for charging so much in price. But things are no longer the way they used to be with rare artifacts being obviously obtained. Not when it was difficult for a witch to venture anywhere and  return alive. Smaller stock meant greater charge--unfortunately there was no way around that. âIf ya still want it under that number-- sâall yours.â
