astoria ran inside her dads’ house looking for one of her equipment she had left there on the previous weekend, she stopped on her tracks when she noticed her little sister on the next room, smiling she made her way inside “juni!” she called out with a grin, she had time she could catch up with the other “hi, i haven’t seen you in awhile, how is it hanging?”

Juniper was laying on her bed reading when she heard someone run up the stairs. When her sister peeked in, she smiled. “tori!” she ran up to her and gave her a hug. “it’s going good! it’s been sooooo long. how about you? what are you doing running around the house?”

once she took all her papers from the ground, hoping none of them flew out to somewhere weird where she could never find and would have to give that person a good grade because of her clumsiness, and stood up “do you think they have that in the dollar store?” she laughed “teacher. history teacher to be more precise, pirate history if you want even more specific.” she nodded and tilted her head not knowing why she rambled that to the other.

Piper laughed along with the other, “oh, for sure they do.” she nodded and raised her eyebrows as she spoke, “wow. that is specific. i didn’t realize that was even a class the prep offered. interesting. sounds like you have little free time.” that was something they had in common. being a chemistry and robotics double major, that was a class she never had to take. along with always being in advanced classes, she really missed out on a lot of the ‘prep life.’

Anthony frowned, displeased with the way she spoke to him. He knew he deserved it but he could only grow defensive, trying to shield himself from hurt that he had inflicted on others before. “I will decide to do what is best for the situation,” he explained formally. Family that cared so fiercely. That was rare to find in his past lovers so he knew he was handling this wrong but he did not know how to handle it right either. “Nobody does, so I’ve learned.” He sighed, shaking his head. “I will do or at least learn to do what is best for Marinus. I’ve done the opposite of what I intended to do and I know that he deserves much better.”

Maybe she was being a little harsh on the boy, but she was concerned about her baby brother. And maybe a little protective of him. “Very well.” she wasn’t satisfied with his answer, but she decided she’d settle. She shook her head at his words, agreeing with him. “They don’t. But I’m pleased you’re going to try to fix your mistakes. I can see that you’ve built pretty high and tough walls from being on the isle, and I just hope they continue to come down and you let people in. I can see that you care for Mar, but you need to sort this stuff out.”

His smile brightened, knowing that was high praise from somebody like Audrey. As the captain she was very serious about the sport. “Thanks, Audrey.” He nodded along with her words, understanding the busy schedule of a student. “Well, there’s plenty of newcomers to meet if you’re bored with same old thing everyday.”

Seeing him smile made her smile more. She knew that she was a little bossy while she was dating ben, the status of being the king-to-be’s girlfriend going to her head, but she was trying her best to be nicer. She figured this was a good start. “Anytime.” she nodded at his words, “that’s true. I’ve met a few, but there’s so many I don’t really know where to start.” she said with a chuckle. “I didn’t realize there were so many kids over on the isle.”

Aptly pulling out her phone, she did just that. “mwah, amazing!” she said with a laugh. she put her hand to her chin and pondered his question. “I suppose that’s alright.” she answered with a shrug, “Always love a visit from my older brother.”

ben smiled hearing that audrey had a good time. they may not be together anymore, but that didn’t mean ben didn’t care about her anymore. “that’s great, i’m glad you had a good time. i bet you met all kinds of interesting people.” he mused. ben hadn’t ever left auradon, but he loved every part of the kingdom. “thanks yeah, doing well. — oh it was great! i had a lot of fun. those things are always fun, even if i have to talk to a bunch of old people about everything i’m doing wrong.” he laughed.

each day was more practicing. she’d never be good enough, as a ballerina she’d never arrive. it motivated her every day. she spun and spun, bouncing on her toes with ease, arms soft, legs high, beauty through all the pain and cracks. she inhaled final breath and landed her combo. the blonde looked over at piper and smiled. if she wasn’t a ballerina she wouldn’t have to deal with rules. but dance was in her blood, in her soul and she couldn’t stop. but it came at great expense to her personal life. relationships were a distraction, so her instructors said. but dede wasn’t about rules. hands on her hips the blonde nodded. “results go up tomorrow. i’m trying to keep myself busy. what’s up?” she asked breathing heavily.

she chuckled at the other’s answer. “you never rest, do you?” though the same could probably be said about her. she walked up to the mirrors in the front of the studio and grabbed dede’s water, handing it to her. “oh not much. just wanted to say hi. it’s been a couple weeks since we last saw each other and i missed seeing your beautiful face.“ she said with a smile.

rolling her eyes at the mention of the isle, she sighed. “that place is the ultimate shithole,” the brunette complained. smiling, she nodded. “i’ve heard of you but, i don’t believe we officially met. i’m brandy ocean, daughter of jetsam.”

moxie nodded, “it was. i’m so glad to be here now.“ she said gratefully. auradon was honestly one of the best things to happen to happen to her, and probably many other vks. she smiled at brandy. “ahh, okay. yeah, i don’t think we’ve met either. for some reason your name was just familiar. nice to meet you brandy.“

“yeah, the isle. my father is a pretty shitty guy along with my uncle. they’re twins so, i guess twins must be the same,” misty murmured. she wasn’t a fan of her father, or her family altogether but, she put up with her siblings and cousins. “well, i try hard to come here. it’s difficult with a lot of classes and such,” she shrugged. brows raised at the girl’s name and she pursed her lips. “ariel’s daughter melody?” her father had spewed a lot about the redhead and her children but, she didn’t care to ‘get revenge’. “uh, i’m misty.”

Melody listened intently as the girl spoke, trying to figure out what villain twins there were.  she watched the girl’s expression as she asked who she was. “The one and only.” she said with a smile, “well, not the only i have a younger sister too but...” she cut herself off when the girl introduced her self. “Misty. Like ursula’s minions’ kid?” she was never one to judge based on someone’s parents. really, it just surprised her that it took this long for her to meet someone with parents from her mother’s past. she put her hand out, “nice to meet you.”

Val had been walking around all day looking to ask people if they had any jobs for her where she could sing. She saw a girl walking around and decided to go over to her. “Um hello I was wondering if I could ask you something?” She asked.

Delilah had taken the day to go to the weekend farmer’s market. She didn’t really care for all the organic healthy things but she enjoyed looking around. Hearing a voice behind her, she turned around and smiled at the girl. “Sure. Need help with something?”

lani loved meeting people who shared her love of the ocean. “gosh, i wish i were a mermaid. i would live in the water forever if i were you,” she mused with a laugh. “oh wow! well, it’s even more lovely to meet you, melody. i would love to go to the beach!! i mean- i could teach you how to surf if you’d like? it’s not too hard.”

She laughed along with lani. “i get that a lot. i prefer to be human though. when i was younger though i wanted nothing more than to be a mermaid. but that’s a story for another day.” she smiled as the other spoke. “i’d love that! while swimming is fun, i’ve always wanted to learn how to surf.”

“it always works out that way, right?” the brunette laughed lightly. smiling softly when the other found what they were looking for. she was ready to turn away when she spoke again. “no problem,” she nodded before looking over the girl’s voice. “uh, you might. are you from the isle?”

Moxie laughed along with the other. She pursed her lips together at her question. “Unfortunately yes.” she said with another chuckle, “Moxie Hart. Queen of Heart’s daughter. You?”

“yeah, i suppose. a lot better than the price on the isle, which was barely two cents,” she sighed. nodding, she understood why the girl went for a walk. misty did the same. “ah, makes sense. uh– kind of, yeah. i come here a few times a week.”

“The isle?“ She looked at the other, interested. At this point, Mel had met quite a few people from the isle but she always liked meeting more. If she were being honest, some of them were much more interesting than auradon locals. She nodded as the girl finished. “i wish i could come out here that often.” she said with a chuckle, “I’m melody by the way. You are...?”

smile faltered only slightly hearing audrey use his old nickname. not something he’d heard in a long time, nor was he expecting. but he played it off and nodded with a kind smile. “yeah, how was your trip by the way? did you have fun?” he asked her, shrugging his shoulders. “i’m good too, just super busy lately. you know how it is, royal duties and all that fun stuff.” 

Audrey noticed the slight shift in Ben’s expression at the use of his nickname. Even though they obviously were no longer dating, she couldn’t help but use it. Mentally noting the change though, she decided that she probably shouldn’t use it anymore. “It was amazing! Yes, I had soo much fun.” She could honestly talk for hours about her trip but she figured he probably didn’t have the time. This was confirmed with his following words. She chuckled at them, “Ah yes, I remember. I’m glad you’re doing well though. How was the cotillion?”

They have not hung out much lately but Keegan would always considered Alex to be his best friend. “It’s never enough,” he agreed with a bright smile after releasing her from the hug. “Great as always. What about you?”

She shook her head in agreement, smiling back at him. “Oh it’s been good! Year’s going well. Aaand I don’t think I’ve told you but I have a boyfriend!” Growing up together and being so close, they told each other everything. But it was hard not seeing each other often. “We’ve been together for a little over a month. He’s great.”
