Outside Ravenswood Library Temple of Vasu Island @ofvioletflames
Kali was perched on the edge of the small salt coated cliff just outside the Ravenswood Library. The snow wasn’t coming down on the island at the moment; she had ordered a few of her most trusted Guild members to manipulate the weather around the building to keep it from freezing over. Kali worried about the library too much, and the last thing on her mind had to keep an eye on the structure because of environmental issues. But from this perch she could see how the landscape far out in the countryside was a blanket of white– it was peaceful.
“I’m sorry for meeting out here with you, I got a message from the Temple about you inquiring about helping out with some cases a while ago, and I couldn’t find much time to see you any sooner.”
Kali hoped the striking woman wouldn’t mind the amount of time it took Kali to be not just hunted down in the library but dragged out of it. Her nose was reddening from the chilly weather, but when she turned towards Zadkiel, she seemed calm regardless of the craze of events most of the country was aware of.
“It’s a shame these small covens in Leeds can’t be happy with what is around them. All recorded and kept safe in my Library documents time and time again that they eventually ruin themselves with such selfish use of the magic, but this year is different– this demonic branch of magic is extremely dangerous. Do you know about it?” she asked.
When Zadkiel finally found the little Ravenswood girl, she pulled back the hood of her cloak. Tiny specks of snowflakes had attached themselves to her from head to toe, covering her in a second coat of white. She stood still for a moment before she approached the other though, appreciating the little spark of magic that surrounded them. It would never fail to put the angel in a state of awe. Humans, would never fail to impress her.
“Do not worry. I was rather busy myself, there’s no need to be sorry.” No formalities here. She spoke the truth.
Zadkiel’s face was without an expression as she positioned herself next to the redhead, feet planted firmly into the ground. She always looked ready, always steeled; but also calm. Although she was aware that the Ravenswood name was well-known and rightfully so, she couldn’t help but wonder why it was Kali who had been chosen to give her a few more cases this time around. The human was young. In how far was she associated with the Temple? What kind of role did she play?
Her gaze became slightly distant and blurry as a wave of memories washed over her rationale. Zadkiel nodded.
“Demonic... I suppose so, yes. I’ve fought against it in the past, at a time when it didn’t have a name yet–when it was merely known as evil.” As Lucifer and his terrible jealousy. As someone who once belonged to her kin and was no more. Nobody knew what had happened to the Fallen one as soon as he had been banished to Hell; of what lurked there. At least not in its entirety yet.
“I can tell you more if you wish. Interested?” A knowing but also grim smirk spread on her lips. “But first, I want to hear your opinion. What do you know about it?”
