Eden nodded her head in agreement with the other, hoping that was true. “Very true, vampires are kind of like the highlight of Halloween. If anyone should be offended by Halloween decorations or costumes, it should be witches. They always portray us as being ugly.” She shook her head slightly. “Though mortals definitely have a skewed perception of the world.” She tamed on. But, the moment the other mentioned Halloweentown with such enthusiasm she initially believed that this girl might have been from her home. “Wait… are you from Halloweentown too?” She blinked in surprise, a look of disbelief etched across her features. What a small world if that was the case.

“I couldn’t agree more with you. Humans never seem to appreciate beauty, even when it’s staring them in the face.” She found the witches that lived in Halloween Town to be quite beautiful and charming. But humans would most likely label them as ‘ugly’ if they saw them. When the other asked her if she was from Halloweentown too, Mul nodded, a excited glint in her eyes. “Yes I am! And am I right in thinking you’re from Halloween Town too?”

A small smile worked its way onto Kieran’s lips the moment he heard Mul speak, his still heart feeling as if a trace of warmth was spreading through it. “I missed you too,” his words were earnest, especially since he rarely found himself missing anyone. But, Mul had become one of his dearest friends in this town. Especially since she was one of the few people who actually made him feel any sense of joy. “You know… you don’t have to be a stranger, right? You’re welcome to come over to the mansion whenever your heart desires. My home is always open to you.” He explained, hoping that Mul would take liberty when it came to taking him up on that offer.

Upon seeing Kieran smile, Mul smiled in return. However a pang of sadness went through her at his statement. She hadn’t meant to stay away for as long as she had. But with the fact that she worked nights and usually spent the rest of her free time with Lionel, shopping, or going about the town to get a drink, she hadn’t had as much time to trek over to the mansion. And additionally, even though Kieran happened to be a close friend of hers, she felt weird coming over unannounced or uninvited. Although the town was small, it wasn’t like Halloween Town where everyone knew each other’s schedules. She didn’t know what Kieran could be up to, and without any way to contact him aside from physically going over to his mansion, she couldn’t tell. “I’m sorry, Kieran.” She said softly. “I just felt weird dropping in without letting you know first. And I’ve been busy with work too.” It hadn’t really occurred to her to ask Alec if she could have a day off, usually because she didn’t need more than what he gave her. “Do you mind if I come over now?”

various items clattered as they fell to the floor, a sigh escaping him. “it looks like a really fat pen with a wire connected to it. like, really, really fat. the tip is metal and it’s supposed to heat up at the metal tip,” he explained, breath hitching as he started to anxiously breathe. “i need it–” he said, speech broken as he was trying to concentrate on both looking and keeping calm. “i need it because i’m, like, sick. or, something like that,” he attempted to explain in the planest terms. what he’d found out while here was that no one really believed zombies were real. and, there was no point in scaring the girl. “the thing that keeps me not sick needs it or else something bad is going to happen.”

When he described what the item looked like, Mul nodded. “Okay.” Now that she knew what she was looking for, she could go looking for it. However when she heard his breathing change, her motherly side kicked in. She wanted to make sure that he would be okay while she went looking for whatever tool it was he needed. “You’re...sick? Do you need blood?” She asked, since she knew vampires tended to look and act sort of like he was when they hadn’t fed or were trying to resist the temptation. However at the mention of something bad happening, Mul sped off. She didn’t know what said bad thing was, but she had a feeling that she wouldn’t find it very entertaining. As she went through the aisles, she came across several items that could have been it. Not wanting to take any chances, she grabbed all of them. However in the last aisle, she saw something that definitely looked like what he’d described. Quickly she made her way back to him. “Are any of these what you were looking for?” She asked, holding out a screwdriver, a drill, and finally the soldering iron.

tucker shook his head. “nowhere near christmas last time i checked,” he said before swallowing thickly. this really could be the worst possible scenario. he looked down at his band, the thing unresponsive and the veins beneath it already starting to turn black. he rubbed at the back of his neck as he retreated to search even faster, digging around and causing a few items to fall. “if i could just find a soldering iron, maybe that’ll work he said to himself. “do you know what a soldering iron looks like? i really, really need one right now. like, this is probably a matter worse than the snow,” he insisted.

“Then why is it snowing?” She asked rhetorically. Did it snow on other days besides Christmas? She really hoped not, because it looked hard to navigate at the moment, and the thought of it happening on another day was a real nightmare. And not the fun kind. She hadn’t been paying attention to the other rifling through things, instead she’d been hoping her friends weren’t out in this. And additionally she hoped that it wouldn’t last too long, since she would not do well if she was stuck in a place where she couldn’t get blood. “No, but if you describe it to me I can try to find it? Why do you need one?”

tucker had been in search of something that could help him fix his z-band, having noticed a little too late that it was malfunctioning. he was in an anxious hurry, really. he knew if he didn’t get this fixed by today, he would be screwed. he could feel the familiar tenseness in his muscles when the effect of the device was wearing off, having been put through this too many times to count in the past. he was searching around in the emporium when he noticed the build-up of snow outside, feeling his insides squirm with uneasiness. “oh no. no. what?” he said out loud as he walked up the glass doors and peered outside. he had no tools with him and still no pieces to fix the band. “you don’t think it’s that dangerous to be out there, do you? i’ve gotta get home. it’s important,” he asked, biting down on his lip.

Mul had been in the Emporium shopping yet again to see if they had some more spooky decorations for the house she shared with Lionel. However, more and more people were leaving and as Mul looked out at the doors, she realized why. She hadn’t expected it to start snowing; the only time she’d heard of it snowing was on Christmas, but as far as she knew, that was in December. Upon hearing someone come up to the door, Mul turned to him. “Exactly what I was thinking. It’s not Christmas...right?” She asked, to make sure the answer was no. At the other’s question, the blonde shrugged. It looked pretty bad. And even though the cold didn’t really affect her, and she could probably run home, it looked like it was getting to be too much for her to even handle. “I’m not sure. I hope not, because I need to get home too.”

There was something about the way Mul’s eyes lit up at the suggestion that she give the next rowdy patron a good scare that felt endearing to Alec. While she definitely had a passion for chaos and that was something most people would frown up, it was the very same aspect that made him experience initial kinship with the girl. Sometimes chaos was the only thing that brought him joy. A smirk curled onto his lips, “I’d love to see the look on their face when it happens.” He snickered and shook his head at the thought. A soft musing hum passed his lips as he tilted his head to the side, “Besides you and one other gentleman, I don’t think so. But, there’s always the chance that more will appear. At this point, I don’t know what to expect from this place.” 

“So would I. Especially since people seem to see me as a ‘tiny little girl’ and  wonder what damage I can do to them when they’re so much bigger than me.” It would make throwing them out all the more satisfying. Especially since she hadn’t scared anyone in a little while, and she was missing it dearly. Sometimes she wondered if Alec was from a similar place as her, since he seemed to have no qualms about scaring people and also adapted pretty quickly to having a vampire employee. Plus, the two of them got along so well, it was almost like he was a fellow citizen of Halloween Town. “If you don’t mind me asking, who was the other person?” She was curious if she knew them.

The familiar chime of the bakery’s front door chimed, quickly alerting Lynette that she had a costumer. Turning from the bread that she had been kneading, she quickly flashed the blonde a smile as she entered. “ hi! “ she greeted her with a smile. “ What can I do for you today? I’ve got lots of new goodies if you’d like to try them. Chocolate muffins, lemon poppy seed muffins blueberry scones, or double chocolate chip cupcakes. “ she listed in her usual perky tone.

Since it was her night off, Mul had decided to go out and get some goodies for herself and Lionel. They were running low, and with Mul’s sugar and chocolate addiction, running low was not a good thing. Entering the shop, she smiled at the owner. She’d tried some of her desserts before, and they were amazing. “Hi! I’d love to!” She greeted, her eyes lighting up. “They all sound delightful. Could I try all of them?”

If it was up to Lionel he would’ve never stopped kissing Mul. The taste of her lips as they pressed against his own, was almost addicting. His arms looped around her waist, as he gently pulled her closer to him, feeling her body pressed lightly against his. As he briefly parted from the kiss, he pressed his lips to her neck, enjoying the feeling of her cool skin against his lips. It was sort of ironic really since one would think it was her who should have been kissing his neck instead. He lifted his gaze only for a moment to ask her if for permission to continue. “ Is… is this okay with you? “ he asked, not wanting to do anything that made her feel uncomfortable.

Even though she’d been getting better at managing her cravings, Mul still worried about the fact that Lionel smelled good to her. He was like the piece of chocolate cake in their fridge: tempting her to eat, even though she wasn’t necessarily hungry. However she’d done her best to push away those thoughts and just kiss Lionel. His kisses were like smooth chocolate: slow and warm and they made her melt. And when she felt him pull her closer, she didn’t want to pull away. When he pulled away, Mul was glad she didn’t need to breathe, since he surely would’ve taken her breath away. However when she felt his lips on her neck, she was surprised, but not uncomfortable. “Yes.” She said. “Is it okay with you?”

lucky left the cafe after nightfall had blanketed the town, watering can in hand. he knew he really should have been a garden-talent fairy. but, he didn’t have the magical touch of helping the plants grow – he simply only tended to them through whatever physical means that he could. as he walked, he crossed paths with mul, offering her a smile. “good evening,” he said gently. “i’m going to tend to the moonflowers. would you like to see them? i’m sure they would appreciate a voice that wasn’t mine,” he said with a chuckle. “they remind me of you, really. they only bloom at night.”

After night had fallen, Mul had decided to go out for a walk around town. She needed to get out of the house for a bit to stretch her legs, as well as to avoid thinking about drinking from the two humans living with her. However as she walked she found herself crossing paths with a familiar face that she hadn’t seen in a while. “Good evening, Lucky!” She said with a grin. It technically was morning for her, but since the other wasn’t on her sleep schedule, it was evening. “I’d love to!” It’d definitely distract her from her hunger for a bit. “They sound delightful. As does hanging out with you. I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever.”

“That makes no sense. Why would I be best friends with a human? Especially one who’s older than me?” Her best friends all looked like skeletons, and they definitely weren’t whatever age this guy was. Plus, humans didn’t really go into Halloween Town. “I do…once I get back home.”

Lionel wilted as soon as he heard her question, why they would be friends. It hurt more than the young skeleton even realized. “ Because It’s me Lionel Mul! “ he pointed out with a forced smile. “ I know I look big right now but I’m little just like you. “

“Wait, Lionel?” She questioned, confusion coming over her features. Why was Lionel in this town? And why was he an old human? “Why are you old? And human?”

A smile immediately overtook Eden’s lips as she heard the other girl’s reply and giggled, nodding her head in agreement. “I definitely agree with you on that. Although my roommate happens to be a vampire and I wouldn’t want him thinking I’m like making a joke out of that.” She confessed, scrunching her nose up slightly. She had a feeling Sorin wouldn’t mind as long as she didn’t mess with anything in his room, which was a fair enough rule. “The vampires in Halloweentown all love the cliche decorations but he’s not from there so it’s yet to be determined how he’ll feel about it.” Either way, she could always just decorate her room so that he didn’t have to be subjected to her VERY EARLY celebrations.

“If your roommate is a vampire, I don’t see why he’d mind.” She was a vampire and if she was roommates with the other, she would be overjoyed to have the house decorated. Especially since Mul had gone to the Emporium so she could do just that. However at the other girl’s words, Mul’s face lit up. “Wait, did you just say ‘vampires in Halloween Town’?” She wasn’t wrong, especially since Mul loved decorations (although her taste was a bit more morbid). But now the blonde found herself wondering if the other girl was from her home.

Alec couldn’t help but smirk at her comment as he glanced up at her, “That’s another thing I admire about you, your confidence. It’s not overly nauseating but very justified.” He pitied individuals who were good at something but were too insecure or humble to boast about it from time to time. Maybe because deep down he resented Maleficent and her children for making it that he couldn’t boast about himself. There was no problem with acknowledging that you were good at something. He felt a wave of pride rush over him at her compliment, a genuine feeling that he hadn’t felt in quite some time. “Maybe next time you can give them a good scare before tossing them out, I wouldn’t mind.” He chuckled and shook his head in amusement at the thought. His gaze remained locked on Mul as she took the glass and took a sip, dark eyes lighting up at the girl’s obvious satisfaction with the taste. “I’m glad you like it! I’ve been experimenting with blood-infused drinks lately, I want to make sure our vampiric patrons feel like they have a safe space here. I’ve been collecting my own blood as well as animal blood.” He confessed. “If you ever need any, just let me know.”

“I’m glad.” She tried not to be confident to the point of cockiness, but at the same time, she wasn’t one to shy away from acknowledging that she was good at what she did. Especially now that she had an actual job that she could say she was good at. At his mention of giving the next rowdy patron a good scare before throwing them out, Mul’s eyes lit up with glee. If Alec was offering to let her scare people before tossing them out, she would gladly take the opportunity. “Sounds like a good idea to me.” She said before taking another sip of the drink, savoring the chocolate taste. “It’s a good experiment!” However at the mention of vampiric patrons, the blonde tilted her head. “Do we have vampiric patrons?” She asked.

Mul was bored; she hadn’t done anything remotely fun or chaotic since spiking the punch at the ball. As a result, she’d begun to think of things that she could do to shake up the town. But she’d decided she didn’t want to do it alone. “Hey Charlotte!” She called out to the dark haired girl, a smile on her face. “Are you in the mood to cause a little havoc?”

There were only a few people’s companies that Charlotte could tolerate, and luckily Mul was one of them. Hearing the familiar blonde call out to her caused a tiny smirk to crawl upon her face. “ You know I always am. “ she chimed out with a smirk. “ So what happens to be on the agenda this time? “

“Perfect!” Mul replied excitedly. There unfortunately weren’t that many people in town who shared her idea of fun. But thankfully, Charlotte was among the few who did. Going over to the other girl, she pitched her voice to a soft whisper so hopefully only she and Charlotte would hear. “I’m thinking we give the townspeople a good scare.”

It might have sounded silly, but Eden was in desperate need of a cheering up so she had taken a late-night trip to the Emporium to pick out some leftover Halloween decorations in the clearance section of the store. She was in the process of filling her small basket with fake cobwebs, a tiny jack-o-lantern, and other knick-knacks that reminded her of Halloweentown. She desperately needed that brief feeling of joy that she felt after decorating, whether or not it was fleeting. She then noticed someone in the aisle with her, cheeks flushing out of embarrassment. “How crazy do you think my roommate will think I am if I end up covering our place with Halloween decorations?” She asked with a chuckle.

With both Lionel and Oliver living with her now, Mul had decided to see if she couldn’t make her house look more like Halloween Town. At least then maybe their homesickness would be slightly cured. Additionally, it was a good way to get her out of the house and away from the sound of their heartbeats. As a result, she found herself heading to the clearance section of the Emporium to see if she couldn’t find some Halloween decorations. However when she spotted someone else in the aisle with her, the blonde felt a tinge of excitement. Was the other girl potentially someone else from home? “I think the real question is how crazy are they if they don’t let you cover your place with Halloween decorations.” Mul said with a giggle.
